Axelrad is probably one of favorite beer gardens in the city. It has been around for a minute, but is still a local favorite for many. Usually places open and is the it place to be, and then inevitably it loses it's cool at some point. Not Axelrad. Located in Midtown, it is easy to find. They have a small, free dedicated lot for the establishment, with free street parking nearby as well. On a busy night, parking can be a little bit challenging. They do offer a discount to all those who use every mode of getting here other than your own personal car. I've been here quite a few times and have never had a bad experience with the staff. They are always friendly and gave the best drink suggestions. Do not come here thinking there is alot of inside space because that is not the case here. Axelrad is all about their outside space. In all honestly, the inside has minimal seating and can feel super cramped at peak times. Most of the space takes up the line of people trying to get drinks. The bathroom situation is not ideal but I did see on a recent visit that there were bathrooms outside as well. As far as the outside space, it is one of my favorite patios. The focal point is this beautiful tree smack dab in the middle with cool neon lights on it. Then they have benches, and lots of picnic tables and hammocks all around. On a busy night, you will be hard pressed finding a spot to chill. They also have a upstairs patio with seating as well. There is also a stage that they host live bands at all the time. I love that they change up the genres of music all the time. They also have broadcast games and such as well. They have a really good draft beer selection as well. I can always find something new to try along with some of my faves. They also have a nice variety of bottled and canned items. Don't sleep on their cocktails though. They are quite delicious. As far as food goes, Luigi's Pizza is on the same plot of land. They will allow you to walk in and get pizza to bring into the beer garden. It's really a match made in heaven. More restaurants and bars should team up for ultimate combos like this. They also always have a food truck on site that rotates. I don't know why it took me this long to review somewhere I have been many times, but it seems like the people of Houston agree. This is a great spot. I will definitely be back!

Came here on a Friday for HH to celebrate a friends birthday, and hadn't been before. Have quite a few friends that have come so I knew I was excited to see what all the repeated visits from friends was all about! When I arrived, wasn't quite sure of the parking situation, but considering the area, knew that I would need to scout out a good spot. Fortunately, timing is everything, so I was able to grab someone's spot that was leaving from the parking lot when I arrived. There is also some street parking along the sides of the street where you turn in and across the street. Coming into the place, I wasn't 100% sure where to go, but if you pay close enough attention, there are signs posted. I walked in through a pizza shop area that led to the outside main area of Axlerad, and it was such a cool little spot to walk into. To the right was a main stage, ahead was was tons of seating and with tables, chairs, and hanging hammocks! Past all of that was another side of Axelrad where you could order drinks on drinks on drinks. Lots of options to choose from. Also, there was a food truck selling crawfish, another vendor selling amazing hibachi food, and then of course the pizza. Great spot for a nice day to hang outside with friends with some good food, drinks and what would soon be live music. I saw another table that brought in games, so definitely next time would like to do that, as they were having a ball. Axelrad was kind enough to hold the birthday cake in a fridge for my friend, so that was super nice of them considering they don't sell food. I will happily be back here for a good time.

I love the vibes here - super chill and great to catch up with friends. The patio area is SUPER spacious with hammocks, swings, and bench seating. Not sure about parking because I always uber here.I LOVE that there's food trucks, pizza, and gelato because I may not drink much...but your girl sure does eat LOL. :')Drinks are average, but bartenders are quick and efficient. Last time I was here, we ordered Irish coffees and they were TERRIBLE :'( I was super sad because it sounded so good on the menu. But our drinks were bitter and full of coffee grounds. We didn't even finish it.On the first Friday of every month, there's a free comedy show upstairs. But be mindful walking up / downstairs - the stairs are steep! I wish this was walking distance to other bars / restaurants, but overall a great place to visit.

Classic neighborhood staple. God drinks. Nice frozen drinks. Cool seasonal drinks. Pretty extensive beer menu. Nice staff and bartenders. Great hammocks. Plenty of outdoor seating up and downstairs. One a few seats inside. Cool events like market nights and film screenings. Just a chill atmosphere. No food but Luigi's is attached and you can bring the food inside.

Small and Mediocre airport lounge. It got limited choice of food and beverages. It includes a full bar. The food quality is also mediocre. There are some additional small plates you are able to order and it will be brought to your seat. But again, nothing exciting. They have a restroom in the lounge. Staff is friendly and usually there are no wait times. Priority Pass is accepted!

Finally got to check this place out! It's a pretty fun spot and super family and dog friendly. There were a bunch of other dogs and lots of people who brought their kids. They have a good selection of drinks on tap. I got a cocktail on tap (had thought it was a flavored beer). It was good but just not what I thought I was getting, but that was my own fault. They had live music playing and also a food truck. Good spot to hang out with groups or some folks solo as well

Street parking and private lot. Come early for parking. We sat on the patio (parts are covered). Huge area. Live band. You can scan the QR code at the table and order drinks (no food) or order at the small bar. We had a few types of drinks and bars and enjoyed the whole early evening there. There's food trucks on the side you can order from or pizza from that pizza restaurant next door.

I don't want to over hype this place but I can't lie, it's amazing! It's different than most places in Houston which I like. They have a great selection for drinks and a big open outdoor space. I prefer to go in cooler weather but for the people who love the heat this is the place to be. They have food vendors on the weekends but also have a pizza place you can walk to like almost on the property which is chefs kiss!

This bar and garden is a great spot to be to get together with some friends over a beer. It's best value is indeed on beer, although Alexrad does have other drinks on offer - cocktails, wine, frozen drinks. It has a spacious outdoor area, lots of natural shade, a smaller indoor area, and tables on the second floor with fans. At night, the place lights up and a really chill and fun vibe with guest musicians or artists comes to life. All in all, this spot can cater to practically any size group and will be fun for everyone. They have vendors pop up - daily, I think! They sell a variety of artisanal products which I find really cool. As I mentioned before, the thing Axelrad offers that is the best bang for your buck is beer. Their happy hour menu is just okay, but I did enjoy my frozen mango drink and mimosa a lot! The best value within their happy hour menu, though, is the well spirits. Get yourself a g&t for a reasonable price and you won't be sorry!

Ambiance is awesome but the drinks are overpriced and watered down. I love axelrad it's always my go to when I am in the area. 8/10 but those bartenders need to give those drinks some alcohol. If you are looking for the vibes but don't want to get black out drunk come here .
