Don't love the parking situation, but did enjoy everything else. Liked the simple decor but still represented Persian culture well. Chicken chengeh was juicy and marinated well. Rice was fluffy and made well. Lentil soup, kashkehbademjoon, doogh and bread it came with were all delicious.Will be back to try other items, to be continued....

Avesta is everything you could hope for and more.Each dish is presented in such a beautiful way!The service was wonderful and they definitely stayed on top of our tea refills. It was a great ambience and time.I would highly recommend the hummus and the falafel. Some of the best falafel I've had the pleasure of enjoying! Paired with the dill rice really made the entire dish great.The restaurant is large and can serve parties of any size as well. It was very popular when we dined in.I would be happy to come back anytime!

Wow! This place totally blew me away. I enjoyed their "Khorake Bademjan" dish, which was lamb shank with tomato, onion, eggplant, and grapes with basmati rice. At $17.50, this price and great taste cannot be beat. The lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone tender, with a generous portion of meat and an even more generous portion of rice, meaning that I, even as a voracious eater, had leftovers to take home. I also liked that they gave you some complimentary pita with feta and herbs before the start of your meal. The servers were attentive without being overbearing, and the restaurant (and bathroom!) were clean. Overall, I look forward to returning here and trying their other dishes! The combo of tasty without breaking the bank makes this place one of my favorite finds in Houston.

Favorite persian spot in Houston! Decent prices, massive portions, and fast service makes this place stand out! The chicken barg is always soo good, juicy and tasty! We love it with the cherry rice. My favorite dish is the beef koobideh, which is so juicy and tasty as well. I love it with naan, which is always hot and fresh that they bring you. The hummus is really garlicy, but i love it. Ambiance isnt anything super fancy, but theres lots of space, friendly service and you'll leave satisfied!

Avesta is the best-a! ...Okay, doesn't really rhyme, but there's truth to that statement. Avesta serves up *the* best Persian food in Houston. And because they've become more and more widely known ever since their opening in 2015, they outgrew their original location and moved around the corner to a bigger and newer digs. My favorite plates are still: dill rice, bab ghanoush, hummus, and the salmon kebab. Note: They do not sell alcohol, nor is it BYO. But they do offer sodas, Persian tea, doogh (carbonated yogurt drink) by the pitcher or glass - pairs perfect with kebab! - mango lemonade, mango lassi, OJ, and Perrier.

I finally got the chance to check out Avesta after many years of having it on my to try list. It is located in a shopping strip with plenty of parking. Met up a group of friends for dinner on a weeknight and the place was somewhat busy. Customer service was excellent from start to finish. I started off with Persian tea to sip on. Even though it was hot outside, this hot tea was absolutely delicious. I just needed one sugar cube to make it just right for my taste buds. The fresh baked bread and sabzi was a good way to start the meal, but we also decided to add Persian hummus and baba ghanoush. That hummus was to me the best hummus I've tasted. I was tempted to take some home with me. The baba ghanoush was good too. Just to compare to the only other Persian place I've been to, I ordered the koobideh combo which came with both beef and chicken koobideh. Avesta definitely kicked my previous fave down a notch. This was much more flavorful and tender. It paired so well with the saffron rice which was also cooked perfectly. The whole dish was alot of food, but I couldn't stop eating it. Overall, a good time was had here with excellent food. I will definitely be back!

Avesta Persian Grill is an excellent restaurant with a professional staff and incredible food!Upon arriving, the staff up front was very welcoming, with a friendly greeting and we were shown to a table. First, I have to highlight our waitress Aaliyah! Such an incredible waitress, with a very engaging personality and a vast knowledge of the menu. She made my party feel like we were the only people in the restaurant. Our drink order was promptly taken and brought right away along with fresh bread and sabzi ( parsley, basil, feta cheese and cucumber), which is included with the meal.To start off I ordered Tahdig (rice crust) which is not always available but in this instance, it was. The tahdig was brought out with a small bowl of Ghormeh Sabzi to top the tahdig. I enjoyed this appetizer so much. The wonderful crispity crunch of the rice covered in ghormeh sabzi was quite the combination. Persian Hummus and Shirazi Salad were ordered for the table as well and were both excellent.Service was exceptionally quick and soon the main dishes of Lamb Shish Kabob and Koobideh Combination (beef and chicken) arrived. All three meats were succulent and savory. Cooked to perfection, the meats were tender and juicy. The meat was also very generously portioned. The grilled veggies and saffron basmati rice perfectly complemented and enhanced the dishes. This was a truly excellent meal and displays the quality of Persian/Iranian cuisine. Throughout all of this fabulous meal, Aliyah was there to guide us through the journey with an authentic sense of genuine hospitality and interest in making this a memorable experience. She deserves her own five stars because her service reflected the quality of the restaurant and its food. The chef cooked an amazing meal! The restaurant itself was very clean, spacious and sophisticated.Truly an experience and one I hope to repeat soon, the next time I'm in the area.

As always whenever I come to Avesta the food here is always spot on delicious!!! The Hummus, the bread, and of course those yummy kebabs!!! Best Persian restaurant in H-Town!!!Put them on your radar!!!

AVEEESSSSSSSSTTTAAAAAAA!!!!!! I can't say enough about this place. Customer service was great from the walk-in to our exiting. Although I don't like to be interrupted while eating, I was very pleased with all the wait staff who inquired if we were OK or served. It was refreshing to know that the staff was intentional and I didn't have to say to myself once, "Where is our waiter?" Kevin, I think that was his name, helped us. I am late with this review. To begin, we had Persian tea, bread with some basil leaves, and cubes of feta. We ordered hummus, which was divine, and we tried this eggplant type dip. Our server was great in guiding us to a selection for our entree as it was our first time there. We got the salmon and chicken combo, lamb sultani kebob with beef. The meats were accompanied by beautiful seard veggies and two sides of rice, dill and regular. When the food came, my friend and I looked at each other, the food, back at each other, prayed, and began the flavourful journey. Everything was great, but the top contenders were the beef and lamb. From the texture to the balancing act between aromatics and flavor, the lamb and beef were perfect. We boxed up what we didn't eat after a showdown of who's going to get the lamb and beef and how much, haha, and prepped for the 2 portion of the party: DESSERT!!! I had the Persian ice cream, and my friend had the baklava. It's her favorite. Now, if you don't get anything from this review, please get this. GET. THE. ICE. CREAM. You won't regret it unless you're allergic. This ice cream was so smooth and calming. The lingering taste of cardamom,y favorite, was such a bonus for me. I've spoken for too long, but just know, like the terminator, I'll be back!Smooches!
