Stopped in to grab a taco during a road trip. Ordered a pollo with cilantro and onion, and to the question "which sauce?" I answered "whichever is hotter." Green was the hottest, she said. After waiting some time, with no one else around, I wondered what might be taking so long. You can get a pollo in Houston from a food truck in about 30 seconds flat. Shortly thereafter I found out why-it is made to order and absolutely fantastic...good food takes a bit. If I am ever thru again, would totally stop here.

Wow - I live in Austin, but I had two days this week driving to Houston for work, and I stopped here 3 times - once for breakfast tacos and twice for lunch. Folks that run this place are extremely friendly, prices are very reasonable (if not cheap!), and the food... perfecto *chef's kiss*. I'll wax poetic a little about the Al Pastor taco plate. I'm usually wary of a place that clearly has no trompo - but sometimes you hit a place like this that still capture the flavors and tenderness. This is that spot. Ample portion of meat - each bite a mouth full of savory, juicy goodness. Add some of that excellent rojo salsa and wow, this is a great taco. But ... get this ... the REFRIED BEANS are actually something special too. There must be some beer or butter or lard or SOMETHING that gives these beans just an amazing flavor. Wow, wow, wow. I ordered a to-go order of just the beans and enjoyed them at home a day or two later. Don't pass on this place. It's a GEM ****Update 3/23/2024****Everything above still holds. The awesome family that runs this truck has passed the baton to the next generation but lost absolutely nothing in the changeover.I decided to eat mostly vegetarian these days, but this (and Tlahco in San Antonio) are the two places that I never regret having meat. So delicious. And the beans. THE BEANS.

Fast, friendly, and delicious. Got the bacon, egg, and potato breakfast "taco" which is on a wonderful flour tortilla. Bacon was thick-cut and CRISPY. Eggs were fluffy and potatoes were excellent. Hot and fresh. Got mine with cilantro and onions. The red and green salsas are tasty too. Staff had masks (the lady did) and wore gloves on the grill. Bathroom on the side of building was clean as well.

Today I had the pleasure of visiting Taco Hut on my way from Houston to Austin. Located in Giddings, Charlie and Jannie run a delicious taco truck. I saw the truck on the way from Austin into Houston, and I decided (after confirming with my other Yelpers) to stop today for lunch.I arrived 5 minutes before closing time because I hit some traffic, but Charlie was happy to make me some tasty tacos. Okay first: Let's talk the tortilla. Oh, me encanta. I think it was one of the best tortillas I've ever tasted. It was flour deliciousness. I created my own vegetarian tacos: eggs and cheese and beans, cheese, lettuce, and cheese. The bean was my favorite, and I topped it with their fresh medium-spice salsa. The egg and cheese was also great, but next time I would try it with potatoes as it was a lot of egg. These tacos are big, so I brought half of my egg one home for a snack later. My tacos were $6 (plus tip) and worth every penny and more. The Taco Hut is located right by an old Peanut Factory, and I enjoyed eating outside at a standing table (they had sitting ones too). I will be back to Taco Hut anytime I'm on 290, and I recommend you do the same.

This place was sooooo good! My friend and I wanted a good meal before we got on the road and we are so happy we stopped here. The ingredients tasted so fresh and the owners were so nice too. We also loved that it didn't feel like we were eating a ton of grease which was nice especially since they were so filling! The beans were also incredibly good, which is the true test of quality Mexican food. Definitely recommend if you find yourself in Giddings.

This is a very unassuming taco truck but what it holds inside is far from it. My mom and I were making our way through town on a long road trip and we needed some breakfast. This popped up on yahoo as one of the few places in town that was open on a Sunday for breakfast. We were hungry and the reviews and food pics looked great. So we decided to stop and boy are we glad we did. We ordered Bacon and Egg breakfast tacos and Oh My Gosh! The eggs are super fluffy and creamy and the bacon is crispy. We had pico added and they gave us some green and red salsa as well. The triple combo of fresh flavor added to the already amazing filling made it more than complete. It made it heaven on a tortilla. Please, please, go here. You will not be disappointed. Everything is made fresh and the service is great. The owners are wonderful and super friendly. This was wonderful and we'll definitely be coming
