I get their croissants at Valley Forge Flowers cafes and DiBruno's in Wayne. The BEST! No other croissants come close.

They make the best croissants in Philadelphia. I had one croissant in a coffee shop, and I had to get more to put in my freezer. I was surprised that they froze so well.

Absolutely my favorite Croissants, and Pastries. The almond croissant is beyond amazing, with some type of almond custard/paste filling. I do get their pastries at Gryphon Cafe, which is very convenient. You can call Au Fournil to place an order for pick up too. The Best "French Pastries" anywhere, I highly recommend Au Founil, as they are always friendly, and helpful, never will you have a bad customer service experience with them. 10 Stars Always!

This is a wholesale bakery, but as other reviews mention they do serve the general public as long you place an order 24 hours in advance. Just use the email contact on their website and let them know before noon the day before what you'd like to order (menu also on website). You'll pay wholesale prices so it's a great deal if you have family coming over or just as a weekend treat! We've had the regular croissant, almond croissant, chocolate croissant, ham and cheese croissant, beignets, almond tart, and apple tart. Everything was delicious and tasted just as good the 2nd day (we shared with friends but it was still a lot of food to eat!). The owner is so sweet and very French! So you know it's authentic. During Covid you will just pick up before noon at the window, and you can pay with cash or Venmo!

UPDATE: My office moved directly down the street from Au Fournil and my life is now complete!!When I realized I was 2 blocks away, I promptly called to see if I could get my hands on some macarons (since I wasn't sure if they were wholesale-only). The girl on the phone told me that they do sell to individuals with a couple caveats: orders must be placed a day in advance and must be paid for in cash. After a quick inquiry she hooked me up. 2 hours later I walked down and picked up two dozen macarons -- at wholesale prices!!The next Monday we got our office breakfast pastries from Au Fournil at which time the owner, Stephane, charged my credit card as it was a business-to-business sale. We saved a ton and the pastries were a huge hit. I thought I was obsessed before but it's about to be so much worse.

Gia Pronto in Philadelphia is one of the sandwich shop that carries Au Fournil yummies. I can attest to the delicious macaroons and pain au chocolat. Always consistent in quality.
