Service was slow and the girl was obviously confused about how to make a drink with just tequila, lime juice, and agave nectar. I think the second one had rum in it for some reason. (?) The food was slow to get to us and very underseasoned. Appetizer never even came. Cool patio, but we were clearly forgotten out there. We always take care of servers no matter how bad the service was, but we will never ever be back. :-(

I enjoyed a sumptuous lunch today with my brother. Our waitress was rather stoic but our food was delicious. The tortilla chips were served cold but I adored the chicken tortilla soup: They use shredded beef in the empanadas instead of ground beef which was a very delicious surprise. They are delicious. We had a great experience.

This is a typical Mexican restaurant. It's been around for years! We've always had a good experience and the food has always been good. The black bean mango salad was delicious!

In for lunch after an MRI. Needed to drink lots of water. Cute establishment.. smaller than the one that I usually go to. same nice Tijuana Joe's atmosphere. Clean and quiet. It was the lunch hour. I just made the lunch special. I enjoyed the quesadilla which was delicious. If you like it spicy I highly recommend the housemate salsa / hot sauce! As per usual. I was only able to eat half. Jackie, my server was kind. Very hurried managing the 5 or tables...I'll be back

*FOOD* The food is consistent, and always fills your cravings. The queso and fajitas are a must. *SERVICE* I've been going here with my family for over ten years and they always provide great, friendly service. Food comes quick, and is piping hot. After bringing our dog here, they even got him a Tijuana Joe's bandana to wear. They always bring him water out on the patio, and are very friendly.*AMBIANCE* This spot is your classic neighborhood Mexican restaurant feel. It's casual, and I've never had a reservation (unsure if they even take reservations). They have a nice outdoor patio where you can sit in addition to a bar, booths, and tables inside. They used to get a mariachi band on the weekends, but unsure if they still have that going.

My experience with Tijuana Joe's was unfortunately, a bit of a disappointment.I live in the area and have been by the restaurant numerous times and when I learned about their trivia nights on Thursdays I was very excited to go.The ambiance is very typical for your average neighborhood Tex-mex restaurant. Although the tables were a little sticky which doesn't help the experience and we also just happened to be seated right under a vent blasting cold air.The service was alright. Everything came out in a timely manner but the process to pay took a long while. The trivia was very fun and definitely added to the experience though. The food was probably the most disappointing part of the experience. We started off with some cheese dip which was good but also very average for a Tex-mex restaurant. The drink was a little disappointing , I ordered the Brazilian Mojito which sounded great but it ended up just being an overly sugary drink and was hard to drink because of how sweet it was. For my meal I ordered the Adobe Mango Chicken which came with Chipotle mash and plantains; and I was pretty excited as it sounded great. When I got the meal however it was a thin slice of grilled chicken with a couple cubes of mango on top with plantains and mashed potatoes. The chicken was fine and the 'mango salsa' was lackluster with just being firm mango chunks. The chipotle mash looked and taste like regular mashed potatoes but the plantains were actually pretty good. My last complaint is the prices. $9 normally for the drink ($3.50 on Thursdays) and $15 for the food was very expensive for what was delivered and not worth it in my opinion.Overall Tijuana Joe's isn't something I came in expecting much of but it definitely underdelivered. It certainly has its place as a location to meet friends, drink some margaritas and maybe play trivia. But other than it's unlikely that I would ever choose to go here on a night where drinks are full price and there isn't trivia.

We've been here and ordered takeout a few times so far and haven't had a bad experience. The worst thing to happen was they forgot tortillas in a takeout order one night and it honestly wasn't a huge deal bc we don't really need them anyway bc the fajitas taste wonderful with rice and beans in a bowl. Food always tastes great, service is good enough and the atmosphere in the restaurant is nice and fun.

I kind of have to agree with some of the other yelper comments. What you expect from Tijuana Joes food and what you end up getting is a let down in terms of quality of food as well as presentation.Chips and salsa service was good but that's about it.L. It's our first time dining here so I may have to make a second visit to confirm my understanding. However first impressions were not good. Atmosphere is ok. Service is also ok.I ordered a chimichuri steak. The steak was full of cartilage - not a nice cut of flank - and the sauce to put on it was terrible, tasteless lacked zest. The steak was a chewy mess. Half the cut had knots in it. When my dish arrived I could see that the refried beans had been sitting under the heat lamp too long and were drying or dried out. It was not presentable and didn't look fresh. The rice at least was fine. But it was disappointing. The price was that of what you might expect but the value was very poor.Nicole's order was also so so.

This place is pretty cool and homey. The owners are Colombian so it's almost as a fusion of mex and Colombian cuisine. The food is good and the service has always been welcoming

Let's start with el baños! They and the restaurant were clean. Well, I don't know about the women's lol...don't use that one. I was greeted fairly promptly and with a smile. Now here is where things start to go downhill...I wanted to get something that would be quick, so I could get back to working. Since I am a guac LOVER, I ordered it and dined in. The server didn't seem too happy about that being my only item. I say this due to how she responded (no response at all! Just walked away!) I heard how nice she was to another customer, so I know she can be nice lol. When she finally came back to check on me, (I waved to get her attention), I told her it tasted funny and looked too dark. Her response, "It's fresh guacamole!" I told her that it tasted weird (second time telling her that). I told her I didn't want it, nicely, might I add. She quickly took it, and with an attitude of disgust, walked away. I reported her to the manager, who VERY quickly apologized, and told me to order whatever I wanted, on the house! It's because of how well he responded that I said my returning is a "maybe". The food was not bad...veggies kinda bland. Overall, hence my reason for 3.
