Very nice staff. Very clean and orderly kitchen. Some Spanish would be helpful when ordering though we did ok. We had tacos and cheese pupusas which were good. They were served with cabbage slaw. The food is good. Pupusas are a new food for me and I really liked them. I think next time I will try the pork ones.

We came here on a Saturday afternoon and found a parking spot in their lot shared with the other businesses in the strip mall. The place has two doors one leading to the dining area and one to the counter where you order. The door to the dining area was blocked off so I went in the other one and ordered at the counter. English was spoken and I was able to get a few questions about the menu answered. My family went and sat on the dining side and I joined them after ordering, grabbing our drinks from the fridge, and sitting down. I noticed other tables ordering from a server and wondered for a second whether the two sides were related. They were indeed and the lady brought my food out in to-go packages because I ordered at the counter. We just opened them there and enjoyed our food.My kids really liked the Pork and Cheese Papusa and I enjoyed the cheese only. There was also a bean and cheese option I did not get, which we will definitely try next time. I also had the steak tacos which were amazing! Wasn't expecting that, but if you are into tacos, this is a great spot. The service was great and everyone was friendly. There were definitely regulars, but altogether a wide variety of people dining there.

I loved the papusa we got all the kinds for folks that had never had them. I thought they were darn good, and the cabbage salad/slaw was the best I'd ever had for flavor and freshness. We questioned whether we communicated right, it seems to be staffed and frequented by folks from El Salvador. They were friendly and we both tried our best. The menu is small and they are cash only but if you know you want what they have go for it, the prices were fair too. It was clean n they were mopping/cleaning while we were there.

You can find Pupuseria Mi Tierra at 5090 Buford Hwy NE, Ste 102Doraville, GA 30340 in the Intown Plaza shopping center - this is the same plaza that has Temp Doeloe (check that review), China Hot Pot and Beijing Kabobs. The parking for this plaza is pretty tight but depending on your arrival time you should be able to find a space - might be a good idea to carpool just in case. It's my understanding that a pupuseria is a place that provides snacky-type food and in particular the pupusa - a corn-and-flour think tortilla that's stuffed by various savory and/or cheesy options. This is a particular treat of El Salvadore and is typically accompanied by curtido, and tomato salsa. The pupusas here are particularly good and inexpensive. On this night we visited as part of my Buford Highway Clawr group - we each ordered some pupusas and kept things simple since we weren't familiar with the food. The lady behind the counter was quite accommodating and good about answering our questions and taking recommendations. I like this quite a bit.

Pupuseria Mi Tierra is a small, authentic Salvadoran restaurant located in Intown Plaza, a two-story shopping strip on Buford Highway. The restaurant is sandwiched between popular 8° Fahrenheit Ice Cream and Beijing Kabobs. In Spanish, "mi tierra" means "my land." A pupuseria sells pupusas which are thick corn tortillas filled with various ingredients like beans, cheese, and pork. Pupusas are considered to be the national dish of El Salvador. You can find pupusas up and down Buford Highway at businesses like 5 de Mayo Mexican Restaurant and Pupuseria, La Salvadorenita Pupuseria y Taqueria, and Rincon Latino. Pupuseria Mi Tierra is one of the newer pupuserias to open on Buford Highway (I believe it opened in 2015). Generally, all of the pupusas I've had in Atlanta have been good including at this shop. The interior is small. The dining room has small tables that can seat, in total, about 20 customers comfortably. There's no outdoor seating. You order and pay upfront at the counter. The business doesn't have much decor save for some colored Christmas lights and Christian (Catholic?) paintings of Jesus, Mary, and others. There are a couple agua frescas ("cool waters") churning at the counter. During our visit, they contained horchata (cinnamon rice drink) and what looked like tamarindo (tamarind drink). There was also a small baked goods display case on the counter, but it was empty. Behind the counter are a fridge with bottled soda and water and a coffee maker. There's a menu above the counter. When we visited, the menu had no pricing. I had to ask the lady at the register what the prices were for individual items. The menu does have helpful pictures. The menu had 12 items listed in Spanish with no English translations. Below are the 12 items with their spellings and my translations:* Bisteck de Res - beef steak* Caldo de Pata - Salvadoran cow feet soup* Carne Gisada - beef stew* Mojarra Frita - fried whole tilapia* Pakaya Forrada - date palms* Pupusas (queso, chicharon, revuelta) - cheese, fried pork rinds, combo/mix* Tacos* Platanos con Crema - plantains with cream sauce* Desayunos - breakfast* Caldo de Res - beef soup* Tamales - masa steamed in a banana leaves* Tamalito de Elote - Central American corn cakeI asked how much the pupusas were and was told they were $6 for 3 pupusas. I ordered a plate of pupusas revueltas (pupusas filled with beans, cheese, and pork), platanos con crema, and tamales for $10. I asked for two tap waters (not the bottled Dasani water in the fridge) and was charged $2 for two foam cups with water. After we were seated, some of my friends asked for water served the same way and they weren't charged. One of my friends ordered desayunos and a water and was charged $7. We're assuming the breakfast plate was $6 and the water was $1.Note: This is a cash only business. If dining in, all food is served on/in disposable foam plates and cups. Takeout appears to be a popular option. During our lunch visit, I noticed several folks coming in and ordering takeout. The desayunos plate was simple and basic, consisting of scrambled eggs, fried plantains (3 pieces), beans with a bit of cream sauce, and steaming hot, fresh corn tortillas wrapped in foil. The pupusas took the longest to make, I assume because they were made fresh. On my way out of the restroom, I glanced inside the kitchen and saw three ladies preparing what I think were pupusas by hand. The pupusas were served in a foil-lined basket. They were warm and had a nice, appetizing, doughy consistency. The Salvadoran chicharron that is used for pupusas is different from the fried pork belly or fried pork rinds you typically find when ordering chicharron elsewhere. It's finer, thinner, and cooked into the melted cheese and refried beans of the pupusas revueltas. The pupusas were served with the traditional side of curtido which is a spicy coleslaw made with cabbage, carrots, pepper, and other ingredients. Adding curtido and a sauce/salsa to your pupusas is a must. At our table, we had a few house salsas (two reds and a green) plus Picamas Salsa Brava (green) and Valentina Salsa Picante (red). I recommend the house sauces, but try them all.I liked the plantanos con crema though they were far from the tastiest fried plantains (maduros) I've had. Our order came with 6 pieces which were equivalent to maybe about 1 or 2 whole plantains. They were ripe and mildly sweet. The cream sauce was tasty. It looked like it was squeezed out of a bottle. I'm not exactly sure what kind of cream it was, but it tasted like sour cream. I've heard/read this combo is eaten with sugar or cinnamon, but there was none here. The tamale was OK. Again, not the best I've had, but not bad either. Mi Tierra's version is more of a short, compact tamale as opposed to the longer, more rectangular version that is more commonly seen. Our tamale was served unwrapped and contained chicken. I felt that the corn and chicken could have had more flavor.

From the instant you step in here it's like being in Central America !!! the pupusas are fantastic!!! Everything is home made on the spot. So be ready to wait a little. The wait is totally worth it. Try the hot sauces too. Very flavorful and not too spicy. I would definitively come back and try more menu items. Service was very pleasant and friendly.

Food is sooo amazing but they don't have an ATM. That would be the only down side. Pupusas, especially the cheese ones are soo yummy. Perfectly cooked with the crispy cheese on the outside layer gives it the best flavor.

Was on Buford Highway and thought why not get some pupusas. Googled pupuserias nearby and found this place. They have a very limited menu and you will have to wait at least 20min for your food but the staff is super friendly. Honestly, they did not follow any Covid-19 safety protocols but the staff was absolutely just friendly so they got 3 stars. We ordered the tamale and although it was mushy and didn't have many veggies like it's supposed to, it was tasty. The tacos were ok but had a lot of fat. The pupusas are 3 out of 5 stars. Small, warm and ok tasting but not great. I haven't found a great pupuseria in Atlanta so my search is still on! Not sure if I would return but if I do, again the women that worked there were lovely and kind so that would be the incentive. Also, although the menu only shows they have pupusas with cheese or chicharrón or mixed, they also serve pupusas with loroco, which is not on the menu.

This is a small place with a limited menu. The pupusa was delicious. I wanted to try the tamale but they didn't have them today. They do take credit card but they don't speak English. Service was good and environment felt clean. Plenty of happy customers around.
