Cylantros - Roswell

I come here very often, close to the house, their food is so good, arepas are busting from all the stuffing, all fresh made, is you like Venezuelan food you must swing by, there is a Tesla supercharger right outside to charge your car while you eat :)

This used to be my favorite spot for GF empanadas--specifically empanadas de pabellón. They were perfect for a quick bite since they're right by the car wash I frequent on a weekly basis. We've also had so many of their other dishes and they were good. The restaurant has plenty of seating and is typically very clean. What began to turn me off about this establishment was the jump in prices and decline in customer service. I have had to greet staff on multiple occasions because they have been either 1. completely distracted by their phone or 2. mentally on planet Pluto. While in the restaurant eating, I have watched countless opportunities where the front desk person could have better serviced customers by 1. Greeting 2. Asking questions 3. Giving suggestions 3. Upselling of drinks & desserts 4. Talking about the loyalty program. Paiiinnfulll to watch. Unfortunately for them, I went from being a weekly customer to mayyyybe once a quarter? The past 2 visits have not impressed me at all. The only positive that has come out of this experience is that I began to make my fav Venezuelan dishes at home since they use simple ingredients, mostly GF options, and easy to make. Win for me, I guess?

This was my first time trying this establishment. It is centrally located in Roswell. It was probably a little overpriced as some other reviews suggest, but the Arepa's are stuffed full. I have 5 cheese sticks which are delicious and cheese, beef, black bean, and plantain arepa. The arepa was very good with good flavor. I walked in and ordered to go and it was very fast. The lady taking my order was helpful and nice. Updated new restaurant with indoor seating and nice vibe.

Had a solid four star experience here with a friend. Had a shrimp taco, a chicken taco, shredded beef empanadas and tres leches for dessert. The shrimp taco was incredible. The chicken was simply ok and the empanadas were good. The cake was beyond great. The service was not what I expected. The young gentleman seemed to not like his job very much. He seemed mad at the world but tried to muster up some type of service. He messed up a number of peoples orders. My friends order was messed up. The ambiance is really good. Spanish music videos playing in the background. Will be back.

To start, I can't speak on ambiance yet because I ordered takeout from here this afternoon via UberEats! The service was fast to pack up my order which was also promptly picked up by my driver--all in under 20 minutes. I ordered 2 cheese tequeños and 1 pabellón arepa. In the notes, I asked for all of the sauces they have as well as notated that I wanted queso guayanés inside my arepa if possible but that if it was not, I was okay with mozzarella. My food arrived and I immediately opened the boxes. I'm not sure how many sauces they have in house, but I received a green sauce as well as a hot sauce. Both were great! The hot sauce was not spicy but had a nice smoky taste. Onto the food... The tequeños were okay (I mean, it's kind of difficult to make cheese and fried dough taste anything other than yummy). My critique is that it wasn't as crispy as I like. It was soft and soggy. As for the arepa, it tasted good as well, but also soggy perhaps from transit. However, it came with cheddar cheese instead of my choice(s). I wasn't notified if they were out of other cheeses and needed to make a swap. I've had other restaurants contact me before, so I'd advise to do so if possible. I like cheddar so it wasn't a problem, but it could be for someone who doesn't. Also, there were barely any black beans on my arepa and I had to hunt to find the plantains as well. I almost thought they were left out they were so sparse. Sadly, I didn't have the greatest experience here. I have had better Venezuelan food at other restaurants around town that I've gone to both with and without my boyfriend (he's from Venezuela), but I'm willing to give this place another chance. Perhaps it was just an off day because the other ratings look great. I'd give 3.5 stars, but Yelp doesn't allow half stars, so 3 it is.

I have now ordered delivery from this location three nights in a row! Man it has been so good that I literally can't wait for dinner the next night so I can order again!The first night I had a steak arepa with guayanes cheese and tostones con carne. The arepa was wonderful... hard and crunchy on the out side and warm and pillowy on the inside. It was over filled with steak and the cheese was exactly what I was hoping for. I added my own hot sauce...(I use tapatio) and it was like arriving at food nirvana. The tostones was made up of 4 big fried green plantain slices smothered in melter cheese and loaded up with steak. I ate three of them and the arepa and I was full beyond full. The flavors were outstanding!! I could not have been more pleased!The next night I ordered the pabellon arepa... this time it was filled with shredded beef black beans sliced sweet plantain and cheese. Oh my GODDIE this was way tooooo darn HOTTIE!!! What a flavor combination! It was just as big as the one I'd had the night before and was ohhhh so good! Again I added my own hot sauce. I accompanied this with an empanada de pabellon. I don't think I have ever had an empanada this flavorful in my life!! It was beyond greatness! Shredded beef with black beans sliced sweet plantain all snuggled into a warm soft inside, but crunchy outside, thick shell of a sweet corn meal bread. Oh my God I just about drooled writing about this!! Again beyond fantastic!In fact the empanada was sooooo unbelievable I ordered three of them for dinner tonight!The food here has been out of this world exceptional! I might just order it again tomorrow... you'll have to wait and see... but one thing is for sure... this place is now on the top of my goto list! One last note... I ordered the tres leche cake for desert with my empanadas... it is a prepackaged thing that is not worth the order. I have eaten the real deal before... this is not it. I let the cake pass because everything else has been completely off the hook!! I mean 12 out of 5 stars perfection! Even chef Ramsey wouldn't change a thing!

Wow! What a great spot for authentic Venezuelan food! We loved their sancocho - very filling and flavorful. It's a type of light soup with meat, yucca, potatoes, corn, carrots and more. We tired the reina pepiada arepa but it was okay. Their beef empanadas are very delicious, same with the cheese tequenos. My husband loved his pabellon criollo - we had that the next day and it heat up real well.

Excellent Venezuelan food! The sauces are fantastic as well! We will definitely return!
