My pork and chicken tacos were delicious! fresh ingredients and the perfect size. My husband really enjoyed his birria tacos and the broth to dip them in. We also got a side of guacamole and chips and both were freshly made. Highly recommend this food truck in Atlanta!"

Ambe C. "Delicious Mexican cuisine in a lively atmosphere. I walked into the restaurant with a hour til close and had a great dining experience that I didn't feel rushed to complete. The chips and salsa are so good. I like the green salsa personally. I'm usually a quesadilla, taco or, fajita kind of girl but, I tried something different during my visit and the Taquitos Dorados did not disappoint. My only request would be that the salad be put on a separate plate. Though quite good, the salad dressing seeped into my Taquitos and took away some of the crisp factor.Oh! And you may thank me or want to fight after but, with checking on on Yelp, you receive a free shot of Devils Water. Just know that the tequila is infused with TEN peppers...it's pretty hot!"

Kevin C. "We came here the other night for the first time, after all the times that I pointed out this restaurant to R and he just wrinkled his nose. Before we visited this restaurant, he finally admitted to me that he hadn't wanted to come here because he thought this was just a grocery store that had a big grill on the side of the building. Boy was HE wrong. Smh ...Parking was easy to find in front of the restaurant - free parking lot. When we walked in, there were many people inside mostly waiting for their food for take out. There were 4 tables with customers eating at them. We were immediately approached by an employee who greeted us and told us to sit wherever we wanted. We sat down and the employee brought us menus. Lucky for us, R is fluent in Spanish. The employee, who was our server, spoke English, but she was more comfortable speaking Spanish. After a quick look at the menu items, we each ordered the 1/4 pollo asado (grilled chicken, like on the grill with fire and smoke) meal - mine with dark meat, R's with white meat, which came with rice, vegetables (a small salad), corn tortillas and hot salsa. While waiting for our food, I noticed there were a lot of people who stopped by to place their take out orders. The employees move fast and are very efficient, since they got a lot of take out orders dispatched and out of the way, and had our order served to us within about 10 minutes of us ordering. The chicken had a grilled and smoky flavor that I could taste with every bite. Even though it was dark meat, the leg was a little dry, but the hot salsa and the rice helped provide some moisture. The thigh was juicy, and someone even slipped a chunk of breast meat that wasn't dry either. The pollo asado (grilled chicken) has great flavor! During our meal, R looked at me and asked, "Why didn't you tell me before that this was a restaurant that made pollo asado?" Smh ...Lots of tables and booths are in a large dining room, and a separate raised area next to the windows has many two-person tables. We were able to sit in a booth away from others. Every time I've been anywhere near this restaurant, even from across the street, I could smell the great smelling, mouth-watering smoke from the smoker/grill on the side of the restaurant. Minor warning: If you spend more than, say, 15 minutes in this restaurant, you and your clothes will definitely have a smokey, grilled smell that your dog will love to sniff when you get home."

Toni W. "We live in this area and tried Armando's Caribe a couple of years ago and enjoyed it. But I'll be honest - a taqueria is way more our style! So when we drove by and noticed this spot, we didn't add it to our list of places to try - we stopped immediately!I pulled up Yelp to look through all the pics to decide on my order (we all do that, right?). When I saw the pic of the chilaquiles, the deal was done. That would be the order. When I showed the pic to my husband, he reached the same conclusion. This spot has a drive through, which is super convenient during pandemic times. We thought about ordering online, but since we were there, opted to just order at the drive through window. We ordered two orders of the chilaquiles and a kid's chicken taco. We also got a La Michoacana paleta fresa for the kiddo since he was hangry. In about five minutes, our orders were ready. I would like to say, we waited until we got home to dig in, but once we saw the tasty goodness that was our lunch, we just dug in while driving home. My goodness. The chilaquiles were EXCELLENT. Chips were crispy and fresh, covered with all the goodness. The goodness included crema, loads of queso fresco, salsa verde, and slaw. As another reviewer mentioned, they have some heat, but I found it to be balanced well with the cooler ingredients (the slaw, the crema). Our kiddo said he enjoyed his chicken taco, but I will be honest - I was so focused on my chilaquiles that I never even saw it.Portion sizes were huge. This ended up being two lunches for me and for my husband (but probably could have stretched it even more had I chosen to show some restraint). This will definitely be a regular stop and a regular dish for me. The proximity, speed, and ease of ordering/pick-up make it a total win for our family. I would love to try other items on the menu, but it will be hard to tear me away from these chilaquiles!"

Vanessa P. "Have had this restaurant on my list since we initially moved to the metro ATL area. We happened to be nearby and decided to come in around 6pm on a Saturday. There was no wait at the time and were able to get seated but shortly after the dinner rush began and folks were having to wait. It's a cozy spot with good service. They have a kid's menu which we ordered from for our 2 year old. Our son loves guacamole but theirs has jalapeño in it so it ended up being a no go. To eat I had the steak tacos and they were tasty and filling. Reminded me of the type of tacos from our time in Mexico. The esquites were also on point. Bonus was I ordered a margarita and they were having an anniversary celebration so my margarita was a 2 for 1. Would come back without hesitation when in the area."

Kevin C. "I noticed this El Taco Veloz just off of Chamblee Dunwoody Rd when I was driving by, so I decided to check it out and eat in during mid-October at about 1:30 pm on a weekday. At that time, parking was very easy to find, even though El Taco Veloz is located in a busy shopping center. Parking is available at all neighboring storefronts, and parking is free. I found a spot in front of El Taco Veloz and walked in.It wasn't busy when I walked in. Customers were eating at three tables, and two people were ahead of me at the order counter. This is a restaurant where customers order at the order counter, sit at a table of their choice and pick up their food at the order counter when their order number is called out. The menu is busy, but is separated by categories, such as Desayuno (breakfast), Tortas (sandwiches), Quesadillas, Tacos, Burritos, Especiales (specials), Sides and Bebidas/Postres (drinks and desserts). I ordered flautas, fried corn tortillas with chicken in them. The young woman taking orders at the counter just looked at me. I told her again that I wanted the flautas. She looked confused, so it was obvious that she didn't know that flautas were on the menu. She asked me in Spanish, "What?" I told her again that I wanted flautas. She told me in Spanish, "Just one moment," and hurried to get someone to help me. She came back with another woman, who asked me in English, "Can I help you?" I told her, "Yes, I'd like to order flautas." She looked at me, also obviously confused. I was annoyed at this point, and told her, "I want the flautas, they're on the menu!," while pointing at the menu where FLAUTAS was written. She looked, and asked me, "Where?" Omg ... ! I said, "Flautas, right over there ... the taquitos." Her bewilderment quickly disappeared after I said taquitos, and she said, "Oh, taquitos!" Smh - neither one of them knew that flautas were on the menu! I also ordered a bottle of lime Jarritos, telling her, "Lima."I waited at a table for about 10 minutes, and then my number was called out, so I picked up my food at the pick up counter, then ladled out a couple small cups worth of red hot sauce before I went back to my table. The food was nice and hot!. The flautas were crispy on the outside and the chicken inside was still moist and not dried out. The rice and beans that came with the flautas were delicious. The small salad was ok; the onions just overpowered the flavor of the shredded lettuce. I dipped the flautas in the red hot sauce with every bite; the hot sauce was very spicy! The lime Jarritos helped to put out the fire in my mouth! As I was finishing my meal, I took the time to notice how not so clean this restaurant was, and saw that this place was not maintained well. The walls were patched up where holes used to me. Tables weren't being cleaned after customers left. Ceiling panels had obvious water damage, and a couple of ceiling panels were missing. It looked like there may have been black mold on the panels. The food and drink were delicious and priced well. Everything else I experienced was not good. I'm not coming back to this location."

There was a huge line of about 20 people and only one slow, slow cashier in her early 20s. Another employee stood next to her but there was no alleviation of the line. Why it took two employees to take an order is beyond me. We waited 30 minutes in line and 40 minutes for our food. We didn't want to go elsewhere and so we stuck around. My friend and I ate outside on a bench. The exterior ambiance was nice, with a good number of people. My friend ordered a quesadilla and I ordered the tostones + guac and a soy chorizo burrito. The food was incredibly good. Both entrees came with a tongue-searing green sauce, which I loved but how do non-ethnic people do it?! I went inside to the counter and got more. They also use the cheapest possible plasticware that has a hole in the handle part of the knife to be eco-friendly but so far from practical. My friend's knife broke in half trying to cut his quesadilla. On a Thursday night it was packed, and it took us 10 minutes to find parking in a massive parking lot (just do an aerial view on Google and you'll see what I mean...). I can't imagine what it is like on a Friday or Saturday night. And I won't go to find out."

It came with green rice and black beans, both were flavorful and not overly salty. Thank goodness. The two enchiladas were filled with shredded chicken that was all white meat and tasty. It may have had corn in it too. One enchilada had green sauce on top and the other red. Both topped with melted cheese. They were too close together for me to really tell the difference in sauce flavor, but both were good. I only wish chips came with it, but that isn't a deal breaker. For me, this was not an insignificant inconvenience given how long I'd driven to get there. However, the food was about as good as I could have hoped.Ordering tacos gave the opportunity to mix and match their protein options. They have a mix of soy, wheat, and mushroom, cooked to resemble Mexican traditional specialties that those of us shopping here can't eat. My tacos were beautifully prepared with double-layered blue corn tortillas and ample garnishes and sauces. There was a bit of an off-note crunch in one of them, but otherwise my tacos were loaded with flavor and textural contrast and were interesting to eat. I would be happy to try anything else they offer.Hopefully they can continue to grow and get into a real restaurant space."

We loved the food! The parking lot holds a lot of cars, however, a lot of the small businesses here, including Casa Vieja, are very popular and busy, so it may get packed. We showed up at the restaurant a few minutes before 3 pm today (Sunday), and there were a lot of people waiting for tables to open up. Waiting areas are both inside and outside in a covered area. Even at this early time on Sunday, all of the tables were occupied. I noticed that customers here generally ate, then left without staying/lingering at their tables after finishing their meals. This restaurant doesn't allow open tables to stay unoccupied for very long, and the employees clean up very quickly after customers leave, and they turn the tables quickly for the next customers. Except for the booths against the windows, employees can move tables and chairs around to accommodate large groups.Upon being seated, we were given menus that had a whole lot of items. I wasn't listening to R as he ordered when our server came back, but I ordered exactly what he ordered: Bistec Encebollado (grilled steak with sautéed tomatoes and onions), which came with rice and salad, and our choice of fried sweet plantains, fried green plantains, cassava or French fries. This time around, we both ordered the fried sweet plantains. The food came out quickly and smelling so good! The steak had been cut/pounded thin, and it was covered by the sautéed tomatoes and onions to the point that it looked like an orange/reddish colored pile of onion stew on top of the meat. The only things that I could complain about this meal was that the meat was well done (but still tender), and the sautéed tomatoes and onions were slightly salty. I loved that the salad didn't include onions, but it did included crunchy shredded lettuce, large slices of sweet tomato and avocado. I kicked up the heat level a bit by squeezing a good amount of a red chili pepper sauce (homemade, I believe) from a bottle, and it was perfect. The plantains provided a sweet last bite to my meal. Portions were generous, and this meal was filling.Menus, with both English and Spanish descriptions, are provided to customers. The service was great! Our server was quick and efficient, and came by multiple times during our meal to check on us and to see if we wanted any refills. This was definitely a great find for us, and we will be back."
