"Solid choice for lunch. Embarrassingly, it's very close to my office and I am finally giving it a try.Several choices on the lunch only menu. I upgraded my lunch bento to the filet mignon. Great choice. The staff were quite busy and focused. I would visit, again!"
"A small, funky little sushi spot. I stopped in for early dinner and was the only one there. The staff was prompt and friendly. I had a few sushi rolls. Prices were reasonable and the food was good. It wasn't the best sushi I've ever had but it did the trick. I'd return in the future."

"10/10 I decided to go on a solo date and this was delicious. The lychee martini's are awesome and such a perfect pairing with the sushi. The Casanova roll, I could marry. It was delicious without leaving super full and just the touch I needed. The bartenders were super friendly and the service was awesome. The renovation is neat as well."
"10/10Service was great! Bartenders Kayla and Juju were awesome and super attentive. Amazing lychee martini and the ocean roll was amazing, the roll was pretty large and very filling. I'd come back for sure."
"This sushi spot is tucked away in a little corner and looks unassuming on the outside. It is a small shop with cute string lights. It was quiet when we walked in but definitely picked up later in the night. We originally chose a spicy tuna roll but the lovely waitress recommend the blue fin roll and she was right ! It was absolutely amazing, it was fried and came with a sweet and savory sauce. The scallions on top were the perfect combo. The white fish roll we got was also great! Came with fish and tempura and the tempura was perfectly fried and was the perfect crunch. The white fish was fresh and sweet. The sashimi platter came with 9 pieces of sashimi for $20. I did think the salmon slices were a little thin but definitely fresh. The miso soup was also savory and light. The waitress was so sweet, they are a small shop and seems like they only have one waitress. So the service was not the fastest, but she was efficient! I definitely recommend coming here, probably one of my new favorite sushi spots."
"While dining at Big B's next door, I noticed the happy hour menu posted on the door at Taka Sushi. It was at that moment I knew I needed to come back and check it out. We'd brought the pup so we needed to sit outdoors... and of course it was raining... but luckily the outdoor seating was covered. Happy hour consisted of half off beers, discounted select glasses of wine, hot sakes & Taka vodka seltzer. $5 California and spicy tuna rolls and $4-5 salmon/tuna/hamachi nigiri. And honestly that's all I need to sustain myself LOL. We ended up gorging on nigiri and rolls - but to fill up further, we ordered off the regular dinner menu. The okonomiyaki hit the spot and the sashimi sampler was chef's kiss! The fish quality seemed lower in the happy hour dishes than the sashimi sampler, which of course, makes sense. I will have to come back again for a full dining experience to get a better picture of it all!"
"I've been twice in two days. Found them on yelp trying to find late nite Chinese Food. They are open to midnight but at about 10:30pm they were no longer accepting online ordersI got there about 11pm and the crowd inside was more like a lunch time vibe instead of 11pm munchies. Its pricey, if you're looking for cheap chinese food this isn't it. The first time my tab was $33 and the second time it was $53 both before tip.My first time I had the shrimp with green beans. I was eating the string beans by hand walking out the door. This dish comes with a side of plain fried rice or white rice. I also had an order of crab ragoons There isn't much that can be done to improve those but these are airy crispy and full of flavor. My second time I ordered shrimp fried rice, shrimp spring rolls and seafood lo mein. At the time I'm writing this I've eaten both spring rolls and a large portion of the lo mein. The lo mein had large scallops, shrimp and crab meat. All the seafood is plentiful, fresh and full sized pieces. Sadly all I can show of that is my empty bowl. Tried to order a side of green beans but sadly they aren't offered as a side so I went with steamed broccoli. I'm going back Sunday to try the brisket soup, so expect an updated post soon"
"Solid. Not too bad. They give a GOOD amount of meat which was a plus but there was nothing too special about it. Broth is standard and dipping sauce they make it for you as standard as well. The veggie plate had a lot of variety which was great as well. The restaurant itself could be a bit more clean but servers were pretty attentive. However, there were only 3 groups including my group so I expected them to have fast service considering it being slow. Quick - lower cost than normal shabu fix."
"I'm so happy to have found this restaurant on Yelp. I wanted to head to Sandy Springs for other reasons but wanted dinner first with my family. Love the vibe here and the decor. I haven't been to a restaurant in a long time that had the kind of service we experienced. From the front door on, we really felt welcome. The hostess was especially amazing and my daughter at the end of the meal was debating sorbet, and she actually brought a small bowl to her complementary with a little whip cream, compliments from the chef. It was such a nice gesture. Let's talk about the food... My sushi roll. The Mexicana was terrific. It was fresh, spicy, and their spicy mayo was on point. My ginger salad was fresh. My daughter enjoyed her salmon roll. The pickiest one of us all, my boyfriend, always seems to compare every place we go for hibachi to one place that he really really likes. He said their hibachi parallels the place he likes so well. That was shocking to me. He also ordered a nonalcoholic Mojito, which was very refreshing. They do have a full bar, but I decided not to drink last night. I'm so glad that everyone had a terrific meal, and again the service really stood out. This place is a little drive for us but so worth our time. Please give them some love too and keep this business thriving!"
"Thank you YelpLand... A really quality place. I had the place all to myself at 5pm ish last week, though there were several to go orders being picked up while I was dining. My only complaint, thus 4 stars, is that I had to wade through the menu to find rolls that didn't come with "crab stick"... you know KRAB. Not only am I willing to pay for fresh cuts instead of the processed filler, I avoid it at all costs."
"There is many items to choose from and veggies. The restaurant is clean and the employees are super nice. This was my first time at this restaurant. The food was delicious, but I was kind of shocked. After the food was cooked and we were eating, the chef took his hat off and waited for tips. I've been to many Japanese restaurants and never saw this move. Gratuity is already added on the bill. 18% gratuity at that. Sheesh! But, I didn't have cash so I cash app $15. I wasn't upset or anything, just shocked. I asked the waiter do they all have to share the gratuity, and he said yes! We may be back. :-)"
"My friends and I came here on a Saturday night to find their front area FILLED with people waiting. Our party of 3 waited about 30 minutes before getting seated. I specifically was craving sushi so I was confused when there were a limited amount of options on their menu but tons of other noodles, appetizers, and rice bowls to pick from instead. After asking our waitress, we did receive a more expansive maki list so when in doubt, ask. We shared the Caterpillar and salmon skin maki, katsu don, and sukiyaki. Although the more basic choice of the two maki, I certainly preferred the caterpillar maki since I didn't realize it was only going to be salmon skin and not salmon slices. Both the katsu and sukiyaki were well seasoned and served fresh from their kitchen since they were boiling upon arrival. If you're looking to itch your true sushi craving, you may want to venture to other places but otherwise they had plenty of other items to pick from! Portions are a little on the smaller side but given the prices, I feel as though it is evenly matched. Service is on the slower side which makes their little "call lights" at the table convenient even though it still feels a little rude. Would come again to try some of their other items from their menu!"

Unspectacular, but solid. I ordered this from Ubereats, and got a Chicken Yakisoba, and a Sushi Tempura Roll and a Spicy Tuna Roll. Everything is packaged well, it's a decent portion size, and everything is tasty enough. If you wanted sushi, they do good sushi and know how to pack it efficiently for uber eats. The Yakisoba uses chicken breast, which is healthier but comes out a little bit dry. If you're in the mood for Japanese food, you will be happy with your order. You might not be overwhelmed or amazed though. To me, that's a perfect 4 star restaurant. Perhaps not a must visit, but you'll never be upset that you ordered from them.

I tried Thai 5 and Sushi Bar both via Uber and in-person, and each time the food has been decent. Their hearty Wonton Soup is my favorite! It has hints of ginger and the ground chicken filling is flavorful. I also enjoyed their fresh sushis. The Green Curry, which has eggplant, bamboo shoots, bell peppers, and basil leaves, was spicy and tasted authentic. I also got chicken in the curry, which I wouldn't recommend doing; the meat was too hard. The Spicy Basil Fried Rice with Shrimp was not spicy, but the shrimp was cooked to perfection. And finally, I tried their Pad Thai twice, and both times it lacked seasoning, including salt. Overall, this restaurant is decent. If I had to order from here again, I'd probably just stick with the Wonton Soup and one of the sushi options.

OMG, this is a long overdue review of some of the best sushi I've experienced in ATL. Please run , don't walk for your next sushi fix. I cannot explain how happy I was to visit last month for my birthday. It's in the city so parking can be tricky. Reservations strongly encouraged too. It's clean and unpretentious inside. I need you to start with the tuna crisp. It literally, melts in your mouth and it's gone before you can blink. Orange is the new black was an another hit dish. The burlesque roll is spicy with jalapeño on top. I love a spicy roll but this isn't shy at all. I couldn't get enough but it wakes you up quickly. The Island roll is what hubby ordered. He devoured it in 5 minutes almost. it was simply beautiful. The absolute star was their limited pork ramen. I see what all the hype is about. The flavors were outstanding and I enjoyed it even in this boiling summer season. We tried a variety of sake that was a good balance to the food we consumed. After eight is the secret lounge next door. Our bartender was the best in the city. They have an expansive menu of carefully curated drinks. I cannot stress this place enough.

We came to Sri Thai for lunch last weekend. The decor, host, and our waitress were fantastic! We waited for about 30 minutes to be seated, and then it took about half an hour to get our order. However, the wait was worth it because the food was fresh and delicious! The Fried Calamari was lightly fried and was served with some of the best sweet and sour sauce I ever had. The Spicy Basil Fried Rice with Chicken and the Spicy Basil Noodle with Fried Tofu were bursting with flavors! I didn't find either one to be too spicy. We also ordered a seafood hotpot dish off of the Chef's Menu. The seafood was perfectly cooked and all the flavors were nicely balanced. If you like seafood with a sweeter sauce, this dish is perfect.

Great sushi in a casual atmosphere. Nigiris were fresh and my favorite/high recommend the spicy scallops. Everything was delicious and the presentation of the dessert was adorable. The waitress was very sweet too

"Like it"Not a big fan of hot pot, but I think Gom Shabu Shabu is average. I didn't like that they only had one type of broth, veggie. It was hard to keep a consistent temperature on my burner. It was either too hot or luke warm. Selection of meats and items were pretty good. Utensils didn't bother me as much, but my wife stated she would have liked a strainer of some sort for the noodles. Service was good at first but as they got busy they didn't really care for us. No refill on broth. Refill on sauce and water whenever requested. Saw their eyes start to roll after the third time I requested for sauce.

"This place is very hype heavy and mostly for good reason. The service here is top notch! I mean honestly it was not stuffy like I had expected it to be but more friendly and welcoming. Hats off for that! The menu online and what is in the restaurant were slightly different. The item I wanted for my entree (the spicy seafood soup) is no longer available even though it is on the online menu. I opted for some other items in it place including the spicy vegetables. They were pretty good and well prepared and it was actually pretty spicy. The veggies were el dente. I also had a California roll and a piece of salmon nigiri. Those were good as well but nothing better than I have tasted at a less expensive place. The table also shared some shishito peppers that were flavorful and a bit spicy. The yellow tail and the lemon shrimp were not my favorites. They had a taste that just wasn't for me. My two favorites and highlights were the spicy edamame and the white chocolate dessert. They were both simply amazing! My overall take on this place is that the hype is real and the food is solid yet expensive. I would bring someone I was trying to impress here but not dine here regularly."
"Tomo at the Ritz Residences in Atlanta (Buckhead) is an exceptional sushi spot. I constantly crave sushi so here we go. We tried included the Crab Jalapeno with lump crab meat, cilantro, and a cucumber wrap with a garlic-jalapeno sauce. It was a fresh and flavorful start to our meal.Another highlight was the Kampachi Serrano, which offered some spice with Kampachi sashimi, garlic, serrano pepper, and yuzu soy sauce. In addition to these dishes, we ordered several rolls, all of which were equally impressive. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an excellent sushi spot in Atlanta."
"Came to Oystra with a friend for lunch. Neither one of us have been here. Upon walking in was greeted and sat immediately. The restaurant is very cute inside looks quaint and small, but there is another room in the back.I let my friend order our appetizer because I told her I did not raw salmon because it was too chewy & fishy. Well turns out that's not even what it's supposed to taste like and I must've had a bad experience. She ordered the Nigri we got the salmon, salmon, belly, and tuna. Every single one of those were absolutely delicious and so fresh! The sushi chef even came over and said they switch out the fish every two days, I would definitely try any one of those again. In between our appetizer and entrée, we got some banchan, which consisted of bean sprouts, cucumbers, radish I think, and I'm not sure what the last one was but they were all great. For our lunch entrée (I had planned on getting Ramen but we never made it past our sushi rolls for the rolls) we got the aloha roll and the Spider-Man that Spider-Man role is pretty big and it took two bites to eat which is not a bad thing. It was absolutely delicious and flavorful , the aloha roll was great as well. I liked the taste of the spicy tuna. After we were done eating, the waitress bought us a little tray of desserts to share. One of the desserts tasted like a little fruit parfait. The other two things were a chocolate macaroon, and I believe a sweet bun filled with cream. All in all we had a great experience I really enjoyed my service and food, and would definitely come back or recommend."
"YOU ARE IM-PECKABLE! Ordered from Ponko Chicken on DoorDash tonight! Was pleasantly surprised by how awesome this spot was. We ordered a bunch of things to try. The hot dog, chicken plate, green beans and the cup cakes. All delicious! I was way too hungry so no pictures sorry. But trust me it was all very good and flavorful!"
"My dinner was delicious, the chef cooked everything to perfection. He did his tricks and they were also cute. He engaged with the customers also.. Definitely will be back.."
"Food: YummyService: Quick and efficientAmbiance: The restaurants decor is stunningly beautiful My hubby and I love trying new Restaurants! We are so happy we chose this one! All of the food we tried was fresh and delicious! The crab legs, noodles, salted shrimp and sushi were all equally good! We will definitely be back..."
"Great experience here trying the Yakitori tasting which included one of each of the meats and veggies and a dessert one for 9 total plus a salad and rice pilaf for $65. We had one each and it was def enough food. We like the chicken a lot, steak was just ok {maybe bc we prefer med rare and having well cooked in general just wasn't our jam} , lobster was a large piece tempura style and super yummy. Veggies were all awesome. We didn't need our shishedo pepper app since they were part of the veggies skewers oops lol. Mushroom and squash and also tomato were all so good. The tuna ball app was huge and came with crispy wonton chips -also very good. Service was outstanding. Our server was so helpful and made great recommendations and points to help up select our food and accommodate our toddler and his food. We got the kiddo two chicken skewers {sans onions } and some rice. Ambience was a bit different than expected--but it matched the VaHi vibe and felt a bit more low key and casual than the Kinji other spots {kinji room MF} Doors open to the street, which is inviting however we got a whiff of smoke while eating since the spot is pretty quaint and has a clear view to outside. Some tables out on the street, bar seating, and table/booth options as well. Overall def worth checking out and pretty awesome if you are trying to eat clean and simple."
"Great poke!!! I love that you fill out a paper form to order. They must get lots of online orders because I had to wait a bit for mine, even when I was the only person in the store.Spicy tuna is very finely minced, with good flavor. Other fish were fresh. Avocado not worth the additional price."
"E X P E R I E N C E we came on a Sunday for brunch around 11am. we had a reservation for 6 and a baby. we were immediately sat and had a private room (love!). F O O Dhot tea set E for 5 people (but our 6th doesn't eat raw fish) chefs choice of sashimi and sushi (see photos but there were 5 pc of 5 different cuts of sashimi, eel and shrimp tempura roll grilled fishshrimp tempura spicy squid fish roe over rice fish roe soup steamed egg it wasn't bad! the sashimi/nigiri cuts were all thick and quite fresh. the steamed egg was so tasty. the dishes all came with beautiful presentation. the spicy squid wasn't very spicy (for someone who loves spicy). it wasn't over grilled where it's too crunchy. it was meaty and chewy. everything was pretty good, but for the price? amazing!!P R I C E 155 + tax tip"
"Certain items were okay while other choices were better. The ramen we chose (iekei ramen) was so so. We figured since the original recipe came from Yokohama, Japan that it would be interesting to try. It's a mixture of tonkotsu and shoyu soup which turned out to be a tad salty imo. It overall wasn't bad nor good. Just so so.White tiger roll: This spicy tuna and eel roll was pretty tasty. There definitely was a slight kick in spice. Overall a pleasant roll that's not too crazy in ingredients nor taste. On the bayou roll: This was really different and tasty. The deep fried crayfish was definitely interesting. The little crayfish provided a nice crunch in texture with the spicy tuna. Although this roll appears to be crazy, it was a rather mellow. You pretty much taste the crayfish in all its dough glory.I would definitely come to Yokohama sushi again and try their abundant menu. There was a great deal of people around dinner time on a Friday evening so popularity at this place wasn't lacking by any means."
"Yuzu Sushi was okay. It didn't give me the wowing impression I was seeking. Plus with the high prices, I think this place is overrated. There was a good amount of folks coming and going within a couple of hours of them opening. But I think this place is more of a quick sushi sit down spot with high prices. The interior begs to differ, but that's my experience. Hey, not all reviews/experiences are winners. The positive thing I will say is that some of their menu items were quite unique. The B.S.C. (baked scallop over a California roll) was super delicious! The sashimi salad on the other hand was so so.The B.S.C. was unique in that the baby scallops were warm and creamy. The sauce really made a difference as it sat upon a California roll. I guess the creaminess of the scallops really amped up the basic California. This ended up being a hit with me.Though the sashimi salad was interesting. It somehow was just meh to me. There was about 6 (?) sashimi pieces. The garlic ponzu sauce was light, but it was also over a light bed of salad. I guess I somehow expected something else, something more grandeur. This pick just didn't provide the oohs and ahhs.I kind of had high hopes for the 911 roll. It sort of looked and tasted bland imo. Though the 911 sauce was different, the albacore, tuna, crab, salmon, and avocado were so so. If you think about it, these miniature pieces of fish were plain. I guess it falls in line with the "fresh" category but not so much "Yuzu Sushi Special Rolls." How special was it really?!I think the other roll we tried was the double tuna roll. This roll had a lot of frills, and there were lots of textures and flavors to be had. The red onion slices really stuck out in my mind as I'm trying to recall which roll we had. This roll was overall pretty good. I guess the spicy tuna and seared tuna made it more hearty.I get that sushi has their different types: fresh sashimi, plain jane rolls, and unique creations. But for 3 "special" rolls and a sashimi salad, the grand total with tip was around $70. The hubs and I left feeling kind of hungry and not really impressed (flavor/taste). Though it was still early dinner on a Friday, everyone seemed super rushed (like they will run you over if you don't move over fast enough). Maybe that has an affect on the fish's flavoring? Lol."
"This is now my Vietnamese mother's, favorite Korean barbecue and hot pot spot! It's located where the former Joe's crab shack used to be. They have definitely gutted the whole place and transformed it to appear very industrial. It's mainly a buffet setup with most of your items is self served. You you can find your greens in a fridge. There are some meats that you can only order on the tablet and a robot or server will bring it to you. There's also a large sauce bar that has everything you could really want.Price is very affordable at $25 for both hot pot and cream barbecue for lunch or $35 per person for both for dinner. Our server was fantastic! The issue with eating at buffets is sometimes the dishes can stack up however, our server was always on top of it, and we never had to wait for service. They also had a cute little cart next to your table for you to place excess dishes. In regards to the hot pot, their soup bases are delicious. The Szechwan spicy will make your eyes, water and tongue tingle with all the peppercorn. We also love the Japanese curry as well as the miso broth. The Tom Yum could be a little bit more flavorful.I love the variety of seafood they have here. They had huge large shrimp, clams, squid, octopus, fish, blue crab, and crawfish. Definitely one of the best seafood variety I've seen at an all you can eat buffet. In regards to the meat, it's definitely not the best quality but there's a wide selection and it all tastes decent. I personally love that they have galbi here, which is hard to find at other restaurants. They have a radish wraps for Korean barbecue.Overall, great place to go if you are craving either style of cooking or want to do both. It can definitely be overwhelming when you were trying to manage both but for the price and selection, it would be hard to beat."
"This is a great spot for sushi! That's all we went for so I cannot comment on their other menu items, but I can tell you the fish is fresh. We went on a Friday at lunch and sat at the sushi bar. The ladies who waited on us were extremely nice and definitely want to make your experience a good one. Two of our party ordered a large hot sake to split and it arrived in a very neat way. The carafe of sake was placed inside another bowl that had hot water, so it stayed hot. Very smart. I was a little disappointed that they did not have sake cocktails as I'm not very fond of straight sake, but it was fine..I ordered a glass of Riesling instead. We ordered many rolls and nigiri which I won't render all of them, but here's a few: salmon and octopus nigiri (sushi. You order by the piece, unlike some places that if you order one salmon sushi, it automatically comes with two pieces), Kiss of Fire roll, Yummy roll, Crazy roll, spicy scallop hand rolls, Uemo roll, and Red Carpet roll. I think there were one out two more, but I don't remember what they were. Everything was delicious and fresh. The only one I probably wouldn't order again was the Yummy roll. It had very small pieces of fish and a lot of rice and it was fried, so it was kind of tasteless. But I don't mind having one like that...and I'm sure someone else will love it. I'm going to post pictures, but I probably won't remember which is which. Haha."
"Came here during a visit to ATL on the advice of my daughter. DID NOT DISAPPOINT It's a plate of rice, veggies & vegan protein. The portion is large. The sauce is super tasty. It was VERY busy the night we went, waited about 20 minutes (same wait time as the other popular food stalls)Friendly service."
"Last minute lunch idea with the Hubs. Our service was great, the food was tasty and fresh and the restaurant is being well maintained. The decor is trendy and sleek."
"This your girl Kai Daniell coming back w. Another review. So if you have been following my reviews, I have been in the gym all Spring putting in work! After I burned 1700 calories on the elliptical machine, I was looking forward to a good filling meal. Since I was craving oriental food (my favorite) and have not been to this spot. I decided to try it out. I decided to sit outside on the patio since it was the perfect time of day (5p) and it was so nice out. There was enough chairs and tables outside to sit. I had to go inside to let the host/waitress know I was sitting outside. The waitress was nice and she went over the menu w. Me since it was my first time. Everything on the menu just about had a picture w. A description. All the food looked so yummy. After playing any, many mighty, mo, I finally decided and ordered the Fried Oyster with Rice and Curry. It came with Miso. Soup and Ginger Salad. The wait time was under 15mins. Everything was delicious! 4 out of 5 rating because it took them a lil while to get back to me. People started coming in and I felt like I was forgot about for a minute. She did not come back to fill my glass up w. More water. Not even once.Overall, my first experience wasn't too bad here. At the end, she did ask me how was everything. And we shared small talk before she hurried away to the next table. I will definitely come back to try out other items on the menu and possibly bring a group of friends or a date!"
"My friend and I thought Sushi Yoshino was OK. I give it 3 to 3.5 stars. This is an old-school, low-key, humble, "mom-and-pop" type sushi joint that I believe first opened in North Brookhaven in October 2009. It's located in that small strip with the tight, awkward parking lot where Ashford Dunwoody and Johnson Ferry Roads merge/split. Same dense strip as bars and restaurants Righteous Room, Moon Indian Cuisine, Wing Ranch, Hovan Mediterranean, and The Bat & Ball Pub. If you can't find parking in front of the restaurant, there's another parking lot in the back. You can also park outside of Walgreens next door.In metro Atlanta, I think Sushi Yoshino is a serviceable neighborhood Japanese restaurant. It's not a sushi destination, but if you're craving sushi, it should scratch the itch. My friend and I are both sushi lovers (nigiri/sashimi). We both left this place full, but I think I was more satisfied with the food than my friend was.We visited for dinner and both got the Chirashi Don ($23.95 each) plus had two orders of the toro - both nigiri and sashimi (one order = 2 pieces for $17.95) - and saba sashimi ($3 pieces for $6.95). In general, the food was not bad, not great. I did enjoy everything, for the most part. I liked Sushi Yoshino's Chirashi for a few reasons. The preparation and presentation was "authentic" with a nice assortment of thick slices of sashimi over sushi rice in a circular wooden bowl. It was straightforward, which is how I like my Chirashi. They didn't skimp on any types of fish and they didn't try to get cute or gimmicky with the presentation. The portion size was reasonable and filling.Check out the pictures of the Chirashi on this Yelp page. What you see is what you'll get. My bowl came with pieces of hamachi (yellowtail), kampachi (amberjack), kani (imitation crab), maguro (tuna), masago (smelt roe), sake (salmon), tamago (sweet egg), shiro maguro (albacore tuna), and unagi (smoked eel). There were two pieces of each except for the unagi (one piece). My friend got a slightly different assortment because I asked the chef not to include ama ebi (sweet shrimp) in mine, due to an allergy, so I think the chef substituted in another fish for me.For one of the types of fish, both my friend and I could taste/feel tiny ice crystals in the meat. I think it was the kampachi. It wasn't ideal, but at the same time, I understood. We visited on a relatively-slow Tuesday night and this lone sushi chef had to break out all sorts of fish for us. Speaking of which, I counted a total of three staff handling operations for the night: older Korean man (sushi chef), older lady, and younger lady (server). All three were fully utilized for the duration of our visit between us, a couple other dine-in parties, takeout orders, and at least one patio party. Anyway, my point is the bowls of Chirashi that we got I thought were as decent as one could reasonably expect for the restaurant/situation we were walking into on this particular night. All things considered, I appreciated the variety and quality of the types of fish served. As for the toro (fatty tuna belly) and saba (mackerel), I was pleasantly surprised they had toro. Given it was a quiet Tuesday night, when we ordered the toro, I knew that the server probably would ask the chef if they had any, and she immediately turned around and asked as she left our table. Great that they had it. The toro was cut very thin and in strict, rectangular pieces. It wasn't like any toro (chu-toro, o-toro, etc.) I've seen or had before, really. Same for my friend, and we've had our fair share of toro over our lifetimes. So, the toro portions weren't great. However, I did think the toro tasted good, though not great. It had that rich, appetizing flavor to it, but it wasn't as meaty nor as melt-in-your-mouth buttery as most other toro I've had, so the toro here is a step down. As far as details go, for the toro nigiri, the chef did put some wasabi between the piece of fish and the clump of rice. I like that. The saba was A-OK. We had the saba served as sashimi. In this instance, I thought the slices looked thin, but my friend thought they looked about right. Anyway, it wasn't bad. The fish was fresh, quality was good, and flavor was fine. The presentation of both the Chirashi Don bowls and the a la carte nigiri and sashimi was nice / photogenic. I liked the plates and bowls that they use as well as the garnishes. The dishes were well put-together.Sushi Yoshino isn't a big restaurant. The patio is small and uncovered. It has an umbrella. Aside from nigiri and sashimi, the restaurant serves a good variety of appetizers (e.g. agedashi tofu, hamachi jalapeno, tuna tataki), sushi rolls, salads, fried rice, ramen, udon, yaki soba, yaki udon, hibachi dinners, bento boxes, tempura, and other don (rice bowls). Drink-wise, they serve wine, sake, and Japanese beer. Lunch specials are available Monday-Saturday, 11:30am-2:30pm.Service was polite and speedy."
"Just an average place for wings and things. Service was friendly, and the place was very clean with an excellent food score. The fried rice was just okay, and the wings were okay. Nothing special, I've had better. But again if you're in the area and looking for something quick with decent prices, then this is a good option."
"MAKE your own call about Makimono... located inside Krog Street Market, I believe they used to be Craft Izakaya, which I did enjoy a lot when it was a full dine in restaurant, but they shut down and reopened as a smaller scale sushi bar counter. After making a circle around the food hall, we were most curious about Makimono. They were close to closing time but luckily not super busy so we took a seat and chatted with some of the guys behind the bar. We asked for suggestions on the best two rolls so they recommended the Ellie and the Lambada, which also happened to be the two sushi rolls on the menu we were eyeing. I'm pretty particular about my sushi and I wasn't expecting much from the rolls. However, they were pretty large and tasty. The Ellie came out nice in photos - the Lambada was probably my favorite of the two, but not as photogenic. Rolls here were a-ok. Nothing special, maybe a step up from grocery store sushi? There are tons of restaurants in Atlanta to grab a mediocre sushi roll from so go ahead and add Makimono to the list if you're craving it while at Krog."
"Came here on Mother's Day after my shift! My friend treated me to dinner and I am so glad I decided to come here. The menu had so many delicious options to choose from! I ended up ordering the Hibachi Chicken w. Fried rice. You can choose between fried or white rice. The rice is not like the typical fried rice but it is paired perfectly w. Soy sauce or the yummy sauce & whatever meal you choose. The Hibachi meals also come w. Green salad, mixed vegetables and/or clear soup. I picked the clear soup. I placed my order to go but ended up eating a little bit of it because I just couldn't wait to eat! Lol The food was fresh, seasoned well and good portions. The resturant only had a few tables and chairs. Typical for your local Chinese spot. But here it was clean and open. I loved the decorations and the painting on the walls. So far this is my favorite Chinese spot In the area :)"
"I came here for my birthday on 9/20 and chose the hibachi side. It was amazing! The people here are very friendly and the food and drinks were well made and decently priced! My party had about 12 people and we all were beautifully accommodated. I'll definitely be back"
"This might be our new sushi spot!! Great customer service and great prices. We ordered takeout and was asked to have a seat while we waited. Casual izakaya style seating. They brought us water and even a scoop of ice cream for each of us while we waited - an unexpected kind gesture. We ordered 1 sashimi and udon bento to go. It was $22 and huge. Fish was fresh and lots of additional items like unagi and tempura. Everything was delicious and we can't wait to return."
"Excellent taste, bit high priced. Excellent service. Prices listed on the website are much less than in restaurant charges. Ie:nabeyaki udon 14.50 vs 18.50. Take sashimi 2895 vs 33.95Best sashimi I've had since before pandemic. Miso and udon soup very flavorable! Shrimp gyoza wow taste. Complimented owner/mgr on good tasting food, but Chicken teriyaki was small portion. She explained it was more like appetizer size. Complimentary small cake desserts. Will be back periodically, but not as often"
