I had this place bookmarked for a while. I was craving Pad See Ew and wanted to try a new place. I ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken and the 5 pc crispy egg rolls that came with a filling choice with and without meat. I chose the veggie & pork filling. I liked the sauce for the egg rolls. It's similar to what you usually dip Vietnamese egg rolls in and wrap with lettuce. Not as sweet as duck sauce, which I also enjoy. The egg rolls were crispy and faired well in the air fryer to make them crispy again the next day. It's mostly the wrap and not as much veggie and pork filling. The Pad See Ew had a nice stir fry flavor that comes from a wok, but it lacked in other flavors. There wasn't enough sauce. I ordered mild since I read reviews that the medium was too spicy. I should've ordered medium because the mild was basically nothing. I like that the chicken was sliced thin, and they used Chinese broccoli. I had to doctor up the noodles in my own wok and added cayenne pepper, red chili flakes, and oyster sauce since it lacked the sweetness that Pad See Ew usually has a bit of but not quite like Pad Thai. I ordered via Door Dash, so I can't speak to the restaurant service, but the food was delivered quickly and was still hot. Pricing for Pad See Ew is actually on the cheaper end compared to Mint Thai, Nara Thai, and Nua Thai.

This unassuming market is a gem! I didn't know if its existence until a friend told me about it and we went and I'm so sad I didn't know about it earlier! There may not be a lot of frills but--as with this place--it's often a sign of the presence of amazing food! We walked in and found a table and the server greeted us. I was quickly overwhelmed with the amount of mouthwatering options. We ended up getting the beef jerky and soft spring rolls with shrimp for an appetizer and they were delicious! I opted for the Yentafo Pink with tofu for my meal since I never heard of it and it looked interesting. I was not disappointed! (Although I may have burnt my tongue trying to devour it too quickly....) The whole thing had great flavor and I enjoyed the tofu which was very flavorful (pretty sure it was fried before going in!). There was also plenty of cabbage and minced garlic adding to the deliciousness. Overall can't wait to come back and try more of the items on the menu! Oh and there's a market for Thai/Lao items/snacks in the back to check out!

For some reason it makes sense to operate your restaurant out of a grocery store. It just feels right in a city like Houston, or LA for that matter.**Note, my rating is solely based on the khao soi I ordered. Please do check it out if you're going to order something else!**Very solid Thai food, the spice level true to form, so stick with mild if you can't handle it well. The khao soi was good, with most of the ingredients I'd expect. I was most disappointed by the lack of a chicken drumstick but chicken chunks that were on the dry-side.Flavor is there and the prices are more than fair. Personally, I like Street Food Thai Market more, it's just 5 min / 1.5 miles away. However, definitely give this place a try and make the decision yourself, thank god for Houston!

Panang Curry w chicken.Pork and shrimp eggrolls.Lemongrass nuggets.Curry fried rice. Are a few of the things that I've tried here. The spicy sauces are just that. I am working on working my way up to the extra spicy. I'm at regular hot for the moment. Service was good each time I've been. Food came out really fast. And it was always crowded. I love it.

This place seems to be super authentic. It's both a restaurant and a Thai/Lao market. Our servers were very attentive and helpful as we decided what to eat.We split some steamed pork dumplings which were good. My boyfriend got the Yentafo Pink Noodles. It was a super interesting noodle soup that we had never had and definitely something we would order again. I got the Kao Nam Tod which was not what I expected but was even better. It's like they took fried rice and threw it on a grill to get it super crispy and crunch. The flavor reminded me of Tom Yum soup too. I really enjoyed it.If we lived in Houston, we would be regulars here for sure.

Another one of the best thai places in the loop. If you are looking for a no nonsense thai joint that has perfected the classics, this is your place. If you are not a spicy food lover be careful with their heat levels! they are definitely on the thai spicy side - even the mild had my nose running. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. I only wish they loaded our pad see ew with more broccoli. I can definitely see the place filling up quickly inside for lunch and dinner, and it's on the cozier side for Houston.

I've been coming here with my family for years, have introduced many boyfriends, friends, colleagues - everyone loves it. I feel like I have a good grasp on thai food in Houston at this point and this is by far my favorite. I like that it is no frills, truly. Hole in the wall, between a whataburger and an O'Reilly autoparts with few tables inside of a grocery store essentially. This food satisfies alll my thai spice cravings. They do spicy actually spicy. Always get the papaya salad, some variation of rice noodles, and a curry depending on what I'm feeling. Love eating it family style *the only way to do things IMO* They're always busy with to go orders but service is always great.

The beef jerky here was the best damn thing I ate all day. God, I love hole in the wall places. This place is located inside a grocery store, how brilliant, if they need ingredients, they can just grab it off the shelf. The beef jerky came with some sort of dipping sauce but personally, it's slapping on it's own. Also ordered pad kee mao and tom saep to balance out a deep fried protein dish, a carb dish, and a soup dish. Prices are very inexpensive and they come out on those super Asian dishes that I remember eating out of as a kid. I would come back here if I was back in Houston. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:)

Maybe I'm just biased, but it tastes almost exactly like my grandma's food, who was born and raised in Thailand. This is in regard to the traditional Thai food options. I will have to get back to you on other menu items. The menu is pretty large with multiple dessert options. I like the atmosphere even though it is nothing fancy. It's always pretty packed during normal dining hours, so plan accordingly! This has quickly become my go-to place to remind me of family. The little market part is fun too and you can pick up snacks to try later or Thai bakery items.
