The location has changed, but the service and food has not. Same stellar experience as the old location. The new spot is much, much larger than the other. There are several rooms, which makes it neat. You walk in and wonder which one you're going to be seated in. We were seated by the open kitchen, which was fun to see where the magic happens. Even if you have a seat with your back to the open kitchen, there are mirrors to watch. The food and service was on point. The wait staff safe extremely attentive. It was a Saturday night and it was packed, so be sure to make a reservation. Make one for any day of the week to be safe. The only downfall is that I can't stand when I'm forced to valet, not to mention where you have to pay on top of tipping. As of Feb 2024, valet is $10. They accept cash or cash apps. Besides the $10 valet annoyance - don't ever turn down a dining experience at Artisans!

Artisan's move to the Galleria area has been a long time coming, it has been a no expenses spared endeavor for this long lasting French restaurant. The owners decided to cordon off the property with a private gate so that the parking is strictly for customers. Because of this strategic move, if you are traveling westbound on Westheimer, you now have a dedicated turn signal at Bering to turn directly into the valet driveway. Yes, they have mandatory valet that they are charging $10/vehicle for. While I was not prepared for this additional forced charge, the upside is that the valet takes (and also prefers) to take payments via pay apps.Upon entering the walkway ramp, you'll find yourself inside the restaurant with beautifully appointed details from the ceiling down to the floors. Straight ahead is the host stand, beyond the host stand is the chef's table dining room, to the right is the main dining room, and to the right is the bar. While the new space is only about 1,000 sqft larger than the old location, it feels much more expansive with nearly twice as much dining space, in addition to a beautifully appointed bar and a generous outdoor covered patio. The food is French rustic. Nothing avant-garde or wildly unfamiliar when the plates are placed in front of you, but it is simply amazing. The food here reminds me of sitting in a classic upscale French bistro in Paris that puts emphasis on classic recipes with beautiful plating. The goal of this kitchen is to create delicious foods every night that are recognizable, not to come up with the latest and greatest gastronomic take on how to change the molecular structure of the food.I've been a fan of Artisan's, and a regular customer, since 2014 when I first discovered them through the annual HRW (Houston Restaurant Weeks) event. The menu has stayed almost exactly the same, but there are several new additions to the dinner menu. What is completely new is that Artisan's is now offering brunch on Saturday's and Sunday's as well as an all new Bar Bites Menu that runs every day they are open from 3-6pm. There are discounts on some starters, and then there are all new additions like the foie gras grilled cheese, which had never previously been on the menu, but I always ordered when planning a private event at their previous location. While they are no longer centrally located for the rest of Houston, their move just west of the Galleria area is far more substantially closer to me. Selfishly, I'm glad they moved for my own convenience of not having to get on the highways anymore to dine with them. There are a lot of French restaurants in Houston, but none compare to the extensive wine menu, authentic rustic French fare, and the one and only Chef Jacques Fox. If you have not had the pleasure to meet this Frenchman turned Texan, I implore you to venture in to say "Howdy," or "Bon soir," to this man for continually providing an excellent dining experience.

Not only was the food amazing. But the service was incredible. The atmosphere is great but the area is not the best location. Definitely great place for a special occasion or just a date night.

Had the pleasure of dining here for the French Kiss menu on Valentine's Day. It was my first time eating here and definitely won't be my last. The service was amazing, thank you Gregory for your attentiveness and kindness!! The food was so delicious. You can't miss the attention to detail, the love, and artistry that goes into each dish. Also had the pleasure of meeting Chef Jaques, Chef Erik, and Chef Amanda, who were all just lovely. I can't mention everyone by name, but thank you to everyone at Artisans who made my first dining experience with you so memorable

Artisans holds a special place near and dear to my heart. So glad they're in this location, because it's much roomier and updated. The entire property is fenced in with valet ($10). The menu is the same as the old location, and I'm not complaining in the least bit! This is one of my go-to dinner spots and their (6-course) tasting menu is perfect imo! The bread service is amazing--the bread is fresh, crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside, with the creamiest butter. The foie gras, scallops, Chilean sea bass, filet, chocolate mousse... it's all so wonderful! Staff is friendly as always and the good old feel of Artisans is here to stay!

So, I can pretty quickly and easily say that almost everything here was awesome... the food, the presentation, the service, the ambiance, the decor, the valet experience... even the decaf coffee options! There is only one thing I want to pick on (and hope that management sees) but I just can't justify knocking off a star for it, because I really love this place.Along with such a great experience with everything mentioned above, the one frustrating bit was the utensils. The forks here have a round stem that make it _impossible_ to hold without rotating in your hand. It makes for this awkward experience trying to eat while having a fork that rolls in your fingers as you lift food to your mouth! Also, the knives we had to cut into our ribeye were not very sharp. I know the meat was tender because it tasted so good and was not tough at all, so I know it was definitely just the knife sharpness that was the issue. Fighting to saw through your food with a dull knife drastically takes away from the experience of eating a piece of expensive meat. Whereas a super sharp knife that just easily glides through a cut of meat can make all the difference in the world. So, I hope someone considers a change in process to make every steak knife super sharp before it gets to a table. And I also hope they consider changing their silverware to something that you can easily hold in your hand without it rotating. But again, so many great things about Artisans that I just don't feel right taking away a star. Wonderful food and wonderful restaurant.

What a sophisticated and classy treat it was to dine at Artisans. I appreciate my Yelp pal, Olivia K for inviting me and a couple other Yelp pals to dinner.First off, Hospitality Manager, Gregory can manage the heck out of some hospitality! His customer service was exceptional. He accommodated all of our needs, gave great recommendations, kept the bubbly flowing, and he is super knowledgeable and taught us so much about Artisans. He even gave us a tour of the whole place, kitchen, wine cellar, office area, patio, all areas of the establishment. He is hands-down the best person for his job.Additionally, their sommelier definitely knew his wines and was happy to find just the right wines to fit my friends' palettes. He was also very kind when I requested a coffee and took no offense to me not partaking in the wine enjoyment. The chef was kind and came out to greet us and ensure we enjoyed our dinner. The food was exquisite. The lobster bisque was probably the best I've ever had and the grouper which was the dish of the day at the time, was simply divine.Artisan's is a world-class treat for anyone who wants and expects the very best.

We had a delightful birthday lunch at this new location. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The bar is warm and welcoming. The best part is the Chef's Table which curves around one side of the kitchen. Our salad with either chicken or salmon were fresh and the salmon was cooked perfectly. The warm French bread was perfect. We had the dessert of the day, peach pond cake with rosemary ice cream, outstanding! Highly recommend it.
