Thank you Arrivederci for always being so on point!
The pork ossobuco. The sheer size of this thing is mouthwatering. But wait till you taste it. Perfection every time.

My partner and I have been coming here for years. For us, nearly 4 years. For me, personally, over 10. The orecchiette alla barese is my all-time favorite dish. They make it perfectly every time, though I might be very biased. When I was in high school, I had to have a surgery that changed my singing voice permanently. My grandma took me here after, and the first bite of the orecchiette made everything feel like it was gonna be ok. The white wine sauce is TOO GOOD. The service is great. HIGHLY recommend trying the minestrone soup -- it's seriously the best I've had. 10/10. Our normal order is: minestrone AND soup of the day, orecchiette alla barese, mushroom risotto, and MAYBE the tiramisu for dessert. We've tried almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Hands down the best italian place in San Diego. After having gone to several in New York, this is still my personal top choice.

Two different ratings here average out to about 4.5 stars, so I'm rounding up: First, a 5-star review for our most recent experience a couple of months ago. We had about 15 people meet up for a post-First Communion dinner. I had called Arrivederci a couple of months prior to check about reserving a room but didn't think about a menu until closer to the date. They were really helpful in dealing with my multiple requests for options before settling on a appetizer-and-pizza menu. We were thrilled by the amount and quality of food we ended up getting, and the room we had was the perfect size for our group.Previously, we had been here a few times over the years for dinner and cocktails. Probably a 3.5- to 4-ish star here. The food has been fine, not great, and the prices are okay. The outdoor patio is lovely. It's nice to have a local, old-fashioned Italian place nearby.

Local. Nice. And - wowzers.... The food is over the moon good. This is Italian the way it should be. Homemade pasta, sauces that stick to that pasta and polenta of the gods. Our group was seated immediately and with a Amalie and greeting we were eating som elf the best bread and homade sauce you can get. The portions at amazing I. That we split out two meals and made four out of them. Not kidding. When in the Hillctest area go here. It is beyond worth it. Beware.... They own a pizza joint just down the street so don't get them mixed up. The pizza is a amazing as well but the pizza joint does not have the same menu.

I think the value is really good! The portions are big and the price is less than other places around here these days. The service was quick and kind as well! I think the setting and ambiance is unique, it's kind of homey and cozy? I wasn't a huge fan but I would say it felt more authentic. I got something simple, the tortelli, and that was great! My boyfriend got the pork dish and that was great too. The sauce was flavorful and unique and the pork was so tender.

Amazing food and amazing vibes here! This restaurant is beautiful and decorated so nicely. The service was efficient and friendly, and the complimentary bread & sauce were SO good. I tried a pesto dish and a seafood pasta dish with a white wine sauce, which were both delicious. Highly highly recommend this place if you want some amazing Italian food!

Really tasty food! Service was great. The man helping us returned every few minutes to check in with us, refill our waters, and keep us stocked on bread. We came around 1 on a weekday, but it wasn't crowded. Space is a bit small so you have to squeeze through tables and stuff to get around and if you need to use the restroom.Calamari Caruso: We wanted some calamari but wanted to eat something lighter for an appetizer, so we opted for the unfried option. The tomato sauce was balanced yet flavorful, and the dish as a whole was really satisfying!Pasta #8 (Black linguine w/ salmon, asparagus, and mussels in saffron cream sauce): Very generous with the seafood. The pasta had an interesting flavor and aftertaste. I tried it first without any cheese, but the dish really needs it. It tasted DIVINE after I added the cheese and some pepper flakes. Gamberi Nostrani: This one was the unexpected star of lunch. It was surprisingly light but still flavorful. Again, not skimpy with seafood at all.Definitely coming back!

I love this place. It is my favorite restaurant on planet earth! The space is quaint and lovely. You feel like you're visiting old friends as the attention is just perfect -- not over bearing and always there just before you need something. The food is in a complete class by itself. Flavor-city and you'll have some to take home. Every time I'm in San Diego, this is a non-negotiable stop. Pork ossobuco. No words... From the service to the savory flavors, this is a 10 out of 10 every single time! As authentic as you can get and not be in Italy

TL;DR: family-style Italian vibe from the servers to the food - large portions + great value = happy timesCame to celebrate a birthday and had reservations so we were seated about 5-10 minutes after our party had fully arrivedNote: def make reservations especially if you're trying to be seated around dinner time as the queue builds quickly and there's no real organized system for the waitlist (read: "so who's next?")Good wine selection to pick from and although were missed by the waitstaff for the first 10 minutes after seating, they quickly made up for it with lots of bread and quick wine serviceApps:- Burrata (3.5/5): first time having spinach with burrata - the cheese was really fresh and the spinach got us the veggies we needed for the night lol- Caprese (2/5): I understand that the fundamentals of a caprese are tomato, mozzarella, and basil but this was a spartan take on it. Ingredients were fresh but tasted really dry- Artichokes (5/5): wow, this was a great app. Would've gotten 2 for the table had I known about it was going to be this good. The flavor was truly marinated all the way through and the crisp on the outside gave the contrast in flavor the dish needed. Mains:- Cioppino (4.5/5): really fresh seafood and delicious tomato-based broth/soup - would've liked a little spice to the dish but no real complaints here- Black Linguine with salmon (4/5): heads up that the dish is a little fishier than expected. The pasta and cream sauce base were a good combo You've been warned: Portion sizes are large - 4 out of 6 pasta dishes were bagged for leftovers (which were delicious!)Since it was a birthday celebration, we were also surprised by a large slice of tiramisu - good balance of coffee flavor and cake-ish textureWe ate so much that we also had to get their espressos and the grappa, as wellAll in all, a delicious Italian meal and a great bang for your buck - will definitely be back to enjoy more of the menu!Grazie mille, Arrivederci Ristorante!

a very solid italian place in san diego! i went with a large group and they gave us a separate private room which is their wine bar. it was nice that we got our own space!the food was really good especially for the price! i ordered 3 appetizers and the only one i would get again is the eggplant. i really enjoyed the bread and also my entree, the pink sauce bowtie pasta with salmon! i also tried some friend's dishes (rigatoni, veal, and gnocchi) and they were pretty good as well! i'm not sure how authentic this is, but i would definitely come back here if i'm craving italian. the service was also really good - our server was very funny and friendly!
