Apple Walnut Café

Let's start by saying I'm disappointed in myself because I hadn't found this spot sooner. It's tucked in a little strip mall in Broomall. The inside is clean and tables spaced out well. The staff we interacted with was attentive, and pleasant. Now the food...first let me apologize I dug in before taking a picture. Next time I visit I'll have one for you. Upon entry you see a small display case with baked goods. Once you're seated they give you a sampling of their Jewish Apple Cake. It definitely starts you off on a good note. There's a variety of options to choose from on the menu. Baked goods (sticky buns, pound cake, Jewish apple cake) transformed into French toast, hot cakes, eggs, lunch items. I chose the French Toast sampler and substituted the stuffed French toast for the cinnamon raisin. The cinnamon raisin was my favorite followed by the pound cake French toast which for me was more like a dessert, flavorful and moist. The banana French toast was ok. If you get the granola banana and toast it's better. And to make my first experience even better. Our waitress was a sweetheart. Before leaving she gave my son a free cupcake since it was our first visit. I definitely recommend this business. The wait time is short and the food is worth it.

Met a friend for breakfast as Apple Walnut Cafe was halfway between where I live and Swarthmore. It's a super cute diner-like atmosphere with very friendly wait staff and an extensive menu with all kinds of eggs, french toast, pancakes, and lots more. I enjoyed my blueberry pancakes and my friend enjoyed his eggs. It's a solid choice for breakfast and I look forward to trying other items on their menu in the future!

We stopped in for lunch on Juneteenth. It was very crowded. We were able to sit at the counter because the wait for a table was long. Even though we were sitting at the counter, the waitress seemed not to see us. We eventually placed our orders. The food was ok. They have Pepsi products. There is parking in the lot of the strip mall. It was ok. I'm guessing that many people like it based on the line of people waiting to get in.

I hate to do it, but I'm afraid I can only give them three stars based on the two visits I've made so far. The first time was great with a server who clearly wanted to make my husband's and my first time a good experience. The food was plentiful and tasty, and we enjoyed our trip to this sweet, pretty,place. Our next visit, however, wasn't as good. I thought the slow service might have been based on how busy they were until I realized that almost every table had already been served. I believe there was only one other table that have their food. Our server checked on the table next to us, but I guess it was up to us to flag her down if we needed anything. I don't have a menu in front of me, but I really thought the eggs I ordered were supposed to have red peppers in them. It had green peppers, and too many of them. I don't remember what my husband ordered, but it didn't stand out and I'm not sure that it was prepared correctly, either. We definitely want to give them another try, although we don't really have a lot of use for places that aren't open for dinner. I'm particularly interested in trying the prepared food in their little market that is in the same shopping center. Attractive place that can get a little noisy when it's crowded.

What a wonderful find!! I can see why the patrons were on line waiting for the place to open. I met a few friends and we all enjoyed our food. The staff was friendly and the food was served quickly. I'll be back

Apple Walnut Cafe is as homegrown as it gets especially walking in and seeing all the patrons and even some of the staff wearing their Eagle's gear! It was a packed house but it still only took 10 minutes to be seated. We were greeted with small sample bites of their apple walnut bread which was amazing. I really wanted to order pancakes but based on the size I saw at someone else's table. I opted to get a Philly steak omelette with home fries. The eggs were soft and the home fries had that slight crisp on them, just the way I like them. I really enjoyed the energy in the room and how it felt like everyone knew each other. I definitely will be back for the pancakes.

I really enjoyed lunch here. The service was friendly, food was relatively quick to come out, it was a nice friendly diner vibe, and the food was good. It'll definitely be on my list for relaxed, good meals.

What an amazing place! We stopped on our way home from a wedding in Phili. We knew we wanted breakfast but didn't know where to go. So Yelp to the rescue, and we found this gem tucked away on the end of a strip mall. Awesome service, amazing food! Highly recommend!

Different cheesesteak item #1069 in the last five years. If I wake up with a real nice girl and want to take her to breakfast and tell her some pretty little lies, this is the spot. They were nice enough to make me the cheesesteak omelet on a roll. I didn't like $14 but it did come with very tasty home fries. 10:30 am on a wednesday and they were busy. It was very well made. Everything was fresh and tasty. Great service. I'm surprised I didn't buy a pastry. Breakfast spot score is much higher than cheesesteak alone score.

Good food. Friendly service. Hidden away in a small strip mall. I would definitely recommend this place
