This is the only place in Houston to get a good muffuletta. They went out of the way to work with me to get a muff tray for my dad's Louisiana Luau party. Everyone loved them. We've had several other sandwiches from here, too. They never disappoint. And the customer service is top notch.

Poboys are a staple affordable food in this region, and Anthonie's has a nice variety of them, along with Middle Eastern & Mediterranean options. Pastrami, Turkey, Mortadella, Chicken Shwarma, and Gyros. The French Fries were wonderful too and cooked to order; they looked to me to be Simplot Classics for those who know. The lady running the place was charming, expedient and very friendly, and engaging. It's not Jersey Mike's, but it's good, quality food for a moderate price. Try them for lunch and you'll be glad you did.

First time visiting/ordering and we were greeted and treated very well. The fries were delicious, and the muffuletta was not quite as from the ones I've had in New Orleans but flavorful. We were given LifeBoost Cold Brew Coffee and explained how it was made. The Mocha Caramel was amazing. I will definitely return if it is just to pick up the coffee.

So delicious! We got the Piggy and the Tuna Salad Po Boys plus several sides and pickles. The food was outstanding- both po' boys were on a really good hoagie roll with high quality toppings and cheeses. The ham and salami salad on the Piggy was outstanding- super yummy-creamy-salty-goodness- super rich but offset by tangy dill pickles and pepper Jack. Tuna salad was also fresh and delicious. We went crazy for the pasta salad- really yummy olives and marinated veggies in an herby vinaigrette. I can't wait to go back!

The restaurant itself has an unpleasant order like cigarette smoke and mildew. The bread was not fresh, the po boys were underwhelming and the muffalatta was very bad--hamburger bun for the bread. Wanted to try something different that wasn't a chain, but a chain would have been much better. The refrigerated items were unacceptable--the spinach pie was served cold and soggy. The pasta salad tasted and smelled rancid.

Calling all native Houstonians: Do you miss Antone's? The delish po-boy with the famous chow-chow? Make the stop. Nothing fancy about the restaurant but this is authentic. The owner has been part of Antone's for 50 years and he's making the Regular and Super (and all the others) on that crusty bread. So glad I stopped in.

Warning: Restrooms are for paying customers only As we walked in, we weren't greeted and were waiting for someone to take our ordered. When the owner finally took notice to approach us he seemed angry and agitated. He greeted us with a rude remark "what, what is it that you want" When I asked for a recommendation he sighed and wasn't willing helpful much, I felt rushed. The falafel he prepared was not presentable, the bread was stale and soggy in heavy white cream to the point where it was leaking out, which left the bag greasy and flimsy. The appearance of the sandwich presented by the owner was as if he just wanted us to get out. He took no initiative in making the food or flavor presentable or savory. : 2/10 : 3/10 yuck, horrible and disgusting

LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING At first glance, this small mom and pop deli shop located at the corner of FM 1960 and Stubner Airline may appear to be nothing to be amazed by. However, I beg to differ! As I was driving to my nail appointment, I was looking for a place to grab a quick bite to eat, but I wanted something a little on the healthy side. Since I don't eat at too many fast food chains, I was searching for a Jason's Deli nearby. Instead, I stumbled upon Anthonie's Po-Boy and Deli Shop, decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did! The set up of the dining room area reminds me of a deli shop out of a Rocky Balboa movie! When I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by the owner, Ali. He was extremely friendly and welcoming. Ali noticed that it was my first time visiting his establishment and he made his way from behind the counter to make me feel welcomed. I felt so special! He introduced himself to me and his "right hand man" Gabby. She was an absolute sweetheart! The vibes from the both of them was so warm and inviting and the atmosphere is one of family and love! I originally wanted a salad but when I started browsing the menu, I quickly changed my mind to a turkey po-boy. It was absolutely DEE-LISH-US! It's accompanied with cheese, mayo, sweet pickles, lettuce, and tomatoes. I opted out of the cheese and I asked for light mayo. The sandwich may appear to be plain and simple but then again, I'm a plain and simple girl. I don't have to overload my po-boy with a bunch of empty calories. The sweet pickles gave it a nice flavor and the turkey was fresh. I despise when I order a sandwich from a deli shop and the turkey tastes old! Ewww yuck! The tomatoes were a dark reddish color as if they were home grown, the lettuce was very tasty and crunchy, and the bread, OMG, the bread was soooo buttery gooood! I appreciate Gabby for not overloading my sandwich with too much meat. She prepared it perfectly! Although I ordered my PO-BOY SANDWICH to go, I would have loved to dine in. The dining area was nice and clean and very spacious. I love the photo of the world's greatest, Muhammad Ali hanging on the wall. It added a nice touch to the atmosphere! All I could think about is the movie Rocky, one of my all-time favorite movies, lol. I think the owner should put a photo of Rocky Balboa on the wall right next to the Champ, Muhammad Ali. Now that would be really nice! In conclusion, I absolutely enjoyed my experience and I plan on visiting again, but with my family next time. I highly recommend Anthonie's Po-Boy and Deli Shop for anyone who is a lover of old-fashioned-styled Po-Boy Deli Sandwiches! They have an extensive selection of other items such as, chicken/beef gyros, pastrami Po-Boys, fried fish Po-Boys, Shrimp Po-Boys, roast beef, corn beef, prosciutto Po-Boys, tuna Po-Boy, Piggy Po-Boy, chicken salad Po-Boy, and more! If ever you're in the area, please stop by and give Anthonie's a try. Tell Ali that I said hello and that Sharonda sent you.

I'm a sucker for driving by and stopping at local mom n pop shops. Glad I did. Got Prosciutto Po Boy and Muffuletta (one was supposed to be for later on long drive) Both were really good and the Muffuletta reminded me of the onetime I had one in New Orleans. I think the best part was the bread. Both were fresh and the correct bread for each sandwich. I'm a transplant and while no one can argue w how well cooks bake biscuits and pies in Texas/Oklahoma, the bread sucks. Especially deli breads/rolls. Whether it's soft/crunchy SF sourdough rolls, those hoagie rolls in Philly, or Rye bread in NY, in this geographic region something has been missing during my five years here. Already looking forward to next spring when my job sends me back.

I ordered the falafel, tabouli salad, and greek olives. Let me start out by saying the food itself was delicious, aside from the olives, but i'll get to that. The issue was with the preparation. While I was enjoying my falafel I noticed a hair inside it. Baked into the falafel itself, hanging out of the ball after I bit into it. It couldn't have been my hair since it was inside the falafel itself. The olives.. i'm not sure if I have just never had these kind of olives and this is how they taste or something was wrong. I usually LOVE olives. Any kind. I love to snack on them. These olives tasted like cigarettes and were squishy and seemed old. All in all.. tabouli salad was amazing, falafel would have been alright had it not been for the hair, and olives were a complete no. I have already received a refund for the falafel through the delivery service I used. but I still want to let everyone know what happened.
