Andy's Bar & Grill

Burgers were so delicious! We had the all American burger and the patty melt and very much enjoyed them. Great, cold beer and friendly staff.

Andy's is an outlier in Cypress where most restaurants are chains that are mediocre and pretentious. Andy's is owned by Andy who was in the house and showing his love and gratitude towards the patrons. All the folks I met at the bar were friendly and welcoming. Andy's fate is nothing to write home about however I liked the vibe and would go back again.

Burger is excellent- very tasty seasoned beef on a super yummy pillowy type bun- almost like a potato roll or brioche- just outstanding. The space is smaller than it looks- lots of mirrors on one wall is deceptive! The bar service when we come is always friendly but comically slow/inattentive/unprofessional. We prefer to eat at the bar so we only come in when we have plenty of time to be there as we've waited as long as 30 minutes just to be acknowledged. The bartender literally was just gone- and the servers didn't seem to notice as they were busy talking to one another or on their cell phones. Again- they're very friendly but in dire need of some guest service training and menu training- it's the one thing that keeps us from coming more often and from giving them 5 stars.

Went today and had a burger and the chips and salsa/queso. Service was good and things came out fast. Went just after 11 and only 2-3 tables filled. Food: our table had the following: burger, fries, kids tenders, Salisbury steak, chips and queso. The chips and salsa was actually great and I'd get this again. The burger and Salisbury steak were frozen Pattie's and nothing special. The mashed potatoes were instant. The salad had lots of old lettuce and was nearly frozen. The chicken tenders tasted like burned flour smells. Prices: were a bit higher than expected and much higher than the quality deserved.Service: our waitress was great. She was kind, attentive, and simply remembered everything.Summary: prices need to be either lowered to match food quality or food quality increased to match prices. A $15.99 burger should not be frozen. Five guys serves fresh fries, why don't you?Will I be back? Eh... maybe for a drink and chips and queso.

Okay I was going to wait on writing this review because when I made my first visit it was during a soft opening. Instead I will go ahead and publish this with a 4 star rating for now and update accordingly as I prepare to go back and visit again soon. I will say that Andy is loved in the community as a very pleasant restauranteur. There is no doubt that his venture into the bar industry will be as successful as Andy's Kitchen further up the street from this place. Based on my recent experience with the service and hospitality alone I can give it 4 stars even without mentioning food.On my visit they were still putting together the cocktail menu so I wasn't able to try one of their own to make them famous for. However the bartenders were nice and happy to make any drink I ordered. I was very impressed with the Old Fashion that I ordered again, again and then again. If I remember the bartenders name right then make sure to ask for Carlos if you want to try the perfect Old Fashion like I did. I was able to try the chicken fried steak which at the time was off menu on the soft opening. It was clearly hand made yet lacked a bit of seasoning but I will write that off to the training during soft opening. I will try again and update accordingly. I also tried the buffalo wings that were also off menu. They did not have them as spicy as I like mine at the time so again, I will try again to see if I can get them a bit spicier and extra crispy. The bar is very nice and the staff and guest were very friendly. They have a touch tone juke box that I enjoyed playing but at the time I was there it wasn't synced to where when you play a song that whatever was playing in the background would cease to play. I expect it to be adjusted better after the grand opening. It was a bit weird listening to 2 songs at the same time but I get it... Soft opening thing again I guess.They do also have a roster of bands that are scheduled to place there soon. I look forward to that as well as some good karaoke nights. From my understanding they intend to stay open till 2AM on weekend nights with street tacos available during those late night evenings. Totally look forward to that too as that area has been in need of a nice late night bar for years.Stay late, support local and Prosper!

Sooooo, I was not expecting a karaoke bar experience. As I sit here listening to some guy sing "Shout" off key...I am thinking this is a one time experience for me. Waitress was sweet and the burgers were a 7 out of 10. With that said if you are looking for a karaoke and burger this is the place for you!

My food was alittle disappointing. I had the Salisbury steak. Not much seasoning and the potatoes were cold. Everyone else enjoyed there burgers immensely. I gave it a four because I will try it again and order something else. The place is a great place to meet up with friends, have drinks & appetizers. It was not a great place to have a serious conversation, but it was a fun place.

Stayed in a nearby hotel and saw it was nearby, what a great place to be near.Dinner was solid, drinks are great and they had LIVE music! Very diverse and welcoming place, owner welcoming and mingling with guests is the cherry on the top. It is always great to support great businesses. Staff is friendly and plenty of great seating.

Live music. Met friends there. It was busy one time and the next time it wasn't. The food was great the first time and way too salty the next time. it's funny how you get better service when some places are busy, and no service when it's slow. Bad service the second time. Music was great! I'd go back and try again. Neighborhood-type bar.

I drove 25 miles just to go try the burger and I firmly believe this place has the BEST burgers in Houston by far! 9oz of pure satisfaction, not including the bun and extras on there. Everything was excellent; the service, the cleaningness, the bun, the fries, the patty, and decor. I highly recommend this place! Even if you have to drive 25 miles...it's worth it!
