Got 2 chicken schwarma platters for $37. This price is on par with the chicken schwarma platters at Fattoush in Malvern, or Damas in Exton. The flavor was overall good but I have to comp this with my other local schwarma sources. I'd say the chicken in chunks seemed more like Caribbean stewed curry chicken than typical sliced or shredded schwarma meat. The flavor was more on the Caribbean spice side than Mediterranean herbalness I'm used to. And when I say "used to" I don't just mean schwarma flavor at these other local places, I mean schwarma anywhere else I've had it. Amun's chicken had a Jamaican accent; it was not schwarma-flavored schwarma.Amun's chicken was bedded on dirty rice that had more spice heat than standard, and that heat kept building with every bite, such that I couldn't finish it because it got too hot for me and my stomach was NOT happy. Had I known, I'd have tried something else because I'm a mild spice person. My other issue was the side salad. Nothing more than diner tossed iceberg with a few veggie bits, and 4 random thin pickle slices thrown on top. It was a lot more meager than Fattoush's high quality parsley salad, or the peppers and onions with hummus offered at Damas. For the money, Amun's salad was a big letdown. They included one quarter of a very very thin pita with a swipe of hummus on the underside. This was underwhelming and unsatisfying.Overall meats were nicely done, but not flavor I hoped to have. The value for the overall dish was unfortunately not near that of other places priced the same or less.

This is our second time grabbing take-out from here, and it most definitely NOT be our last.First, the food:My son and I both got the lamb gyro. The lamb was some of the most tender and flavorful I have ever had (and I sous vide my lamb). Just fantastic. We also got the mini sampler. The hummus was a bit lacking in flavor, but was still good and well made. The falafel were perfectly cooked (so rare in my experience!) crispy and delectable. The dolmas are a hair too tender (I like more of a firm leaf) but the flavor more than made up for it. The Baba Ghanouj was a show stealer of the sampler. The signature char flavor was outstanding. More than good enough to eat by itself. My favorite of the night was the lentil soup. The aroma alone was mouth watering. Overall it has a wonderful depth of flavor. The time and love that went into making it was very evident. Lastly I want to make sure to mention the owners...they are so friendly! Both times now I was greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality on the phone and in person. These two are doing things the right way. I would absolutely recommend you give this place a try if you have not. Such wonderful food being made by just as wonderful people!

We have been searching for a local Mediterranean place and let me tell you, we have FOUND it!We ordered a lot to really get a feel for it:The mini sampler (comes with falafel, hummus, baba ghanoush, and dolmas)Mixed kebabs (chicken, kafta, lamb)Chicken shawarmaBaklavaGenuinely nothing was bad. The mixed kebabs were grilled to perfection, all entrees come with delicious yellow rice, a slice of pita with hummus on it, and a salad. And the mini sampler is the best! You get a little bit of everything. All tasty. Whether you like eating everything separately, or mixing it all together, I don't think you can go wrong with anything here. I also got baklava and it sometimes isn't my favorite because some places put extra honey, but I'm not kidding when this was the BEST baklava I've ever had. And it was my fiancé's first time trying baklava and he mentioned it might now be a top 10 dessert for him!The owner and workers are so kind too! We will definitely be back.

Oh man my fellow Yelpers led me astray here or you don't know what good Mediterranean food is. I really don't like writing reviews to highlight poor experiences but I feel it's necessary for other diners and primarily for the business owner to make changes and thrive. With that being said I ordered the mix with Kafka, chicken and lamb kabob. FYI I have had plenty of Mediterranean food to know what's good and what's not. The rice in the combo was unevenly cooked which was a shame because it had good flavor. I'm my past experiences of Mediterranean food the hummus is on the side NOT on the pita to make it a gloppy mess. Also, 1 piece of pita is quite skimpy. The kafta was like little meatballs on a stick not the traditional type. The lamb was charred to the point some was not edible, and the chicken was the only saving grace. The salad would be nice if they didn't drench it with some sweet dressing which is definitely not Mediterranean!! The tahini was one of the only good things and the garlic sauce was more like a watered down yogurt sauce that left me confused! The food was barely warm and please businesses I don't mind patronizing but add utensils and napkins is that too much to ask for when we are paying a service fee, delivery fee, AND a tip?! Overall I spent $23 bux for a lackluster lunch that I was really looking forward to. Please do better!

Let me start by saying that I am NOT a rice pudding lover, but I ordered some for my partner and ended up eating the entire container while standing in front of the open fridge. IT WAS SOO GOOD. I mean, damn. Definitely the best rice pudding I've ever had. My husband did manage a few bites and also agreed that it was sensational.Other than that the food you get here is pretty average. I got the chicken shawarma which was a bit dry and my husband got the kebab, which was a pretty small portion. I don't think I'd make any grand effort to return to Amun, but I will never forget their rice pudding.

Looking for delicious take out with a homemade taste? This is the spot, so glad we tried it! The restaurant serves a variety of Mediterranean delights. There is something for everyone, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and meat eaters. Ordering is easy online or by phone. You can pick up or use one of the many delivery services listed on their site. We ordered chicken shawerma served with pita, garlic sauce, yellow basmati rice, salad, pickles and hummus. The mini sampler of hummus, baba ghanouj, 4 falafels and 4 dolmas. Quinoa salad with romaine, parsley, tomatoes, cucumbers, chickpeas and tomato basil dressing. Baklava for a sweet end to the meal. For around $40 we received large portions, enough for lunch tomorrow. The ingredients were fresh and everything was made with care. The shawerma had lots of flavor and a little heat. The dips were yum, the baba ghanouj a stand out. The falafel was really tasty, crisp outside and soft inside. It paired well with the salad and dips. The dolmas were the best I have ever had, moist and full of olive flavor. The quinoa salad was light and delicious filled with herbs and a bright dressing. If I had to knock anything it would be dessert. The Bakalava was a little dry, when you get it freshly made the honey usually drips off it, but as it sits it absorbs the liquid. The flavor was wonderful and I devoured it and enjoyed the taste. Can't wait to return! You can order extra sauces and pita and that will surely happen. Next time I may try the rice pudding and iced hibiscus flower tea. If you aren't familiar with this type of cuisine, give it a try. They sell things like wings, salmon, shrimp and gyros, plus lots of veggie choices. Yum yum yummy good!

Simply put, everything I tried here was excellent. The chicken kabob, fried cauliflower, hummus, chicken wings, and falafel are all excellent. Sometimes a review is just that simple.

Idk guys, this place has fallen short of it's 4.5 stars both times I've gotten take out. Entrees come with a salad...and pickles? I love pickles, but huh?? The falafel had good flavor but was incredibly dry. The biggest concern was the feta and olives app which included canned sliced black olives. I have never had canned black olives at a Mediterranean restaurant...ever. Nice people but I don't think I'll be back.

Dependably delicious food, and always friendly and accommodating service. Amun is one of my favorite local spots in Drexel Hill and I really should order more often since it's such a wonder alternative to the same old pizza places again and again. The baklava is top notch!

Got a beef gyro, was amazing, the sauce we so good and the veggies crisp and fresh. Iced hibiscus tea was perfect for this hot day and a flavor I have rarely tasted before.
