American Joe's

Should have said "Nevermind"I walked in asking if they can make an American Hoagie. I knew it was old request . The Italian Hoagie is King in Philadelphia, but I wanted and old favorite. I figured I can get one at a Place called "American Joe's" . I was wrong. The counter person said they can make one then I began chatting about that no one makes american hoagies anymore. Then I mentioned that an American has ham, salami and boloney, She turns and tells me she didn't realize that it had baloney. I should have said nevermind then . I accepted a hoagie sans baloney . When i opened it up is had leaf lettuce. In Philly everyone knows its shredded lettuce , Super thin onions and oregano and oil. My futile quest for an American Hoagie goes on. It didnt taste bad , Just not what I wanted .

Best hoagies around. They pile on the meats and fixing. Little place, but oh, so good! Wonderful people too! Great taste of Philly!

Fantastic Italian hoagies. Grew up in Philly, found this place by accident. Almost hidden in jewelry row, limited hours.Walking in feels like you someone's kitchen.Hoagie is spectacular. Seeded bread is amazing. Meats are really high quality. Salami is delicate. Fresh.Lady working their is really sweet.They are HUGE. I am guy, and 1 is enough to share.... Cannot overstate how fricking amazing hoagies. Far better than Italian market.....

Best hoagie in Philly. Owners run it very well and solid prices. Soooo delicious. Everything is very fresh, fresh cuts. Always feel like I'm back at the deli with my fam when I'm there. Support your local businesses like these and they'll treat you right!

This was the most delicious hoagie I have had in awhile. Everything was fresh and the roll was perfect.

Fresh and generous portions. Had a basic turkey sandwich that was so good and potato salad which was also very yummy. Bread and customer service are great!
