I love that this restaurant is BYOB and they serve complimentary bread. It's a very cute and quaint restaurant. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, but we're a little disappointed it wasn't fried or have any batter. It was cooked by itself with a marinara sauce. I wish this was specified on the menu! For entrees we ordered the ragu and crispy gnocchi. The ragu portion size quite large (enough for 2 meals). The flavor was quite tasty too! The crispy gnocchi wasn't what I expected. I wish it came with a marinara or alfredo sauce. I've never had a dry pasta dish before. It wasn't my favorite meal, but I would come back again and try a different pasta dish next time. The outdoor patio area is very cute. They also have private cabins (street seating) that offer a more private outdoor dining experience. I also recommend making a reservation at least a week in advance as the tables fill up fairly quickly.

Outstanding small and honey Italian food restaurant!! Very yummy, and doesn't break the bank either. We went on a weekend for their brunch menu. Definitely recommend any pastas, including the tortelloni and parpadelle! The truffle and mushrooms in the tortellini were so addicting and perfectly umami. Crispy brussels sprouts are also outstanding, so savory! Veal medallion were just okay, came with a pretty small portion. Wouldn't recommend the crab omelette either - not that it wasn't good, but the other dishes were just so outstanding. Stick to the pastas and appetizers!! Their outdoor "covered seating" is great, with separated "rooms" for privacy. The servers were also efficient and kind.

When I tell you this is a MUST TRY!!!We came to this restaurant on a whim on the last full day of our Philly trip, and this was one of the best Italian restaurants I've ever visited. Not only is the atmosphere cute and cozy, the food was delicious and the staff are attentive! To drink I had the grenadine cocktail--a dirty Shirley which is always good. Starting with the herb Caesar salad--im not a big salad eater, but this one takes the cake. I'm craving it as I write this back home in Maryland. The homemade dressing is so full of flavor and they are generous with the parm! The lemon zest is a great touch too. Then we had the mussels appetizer which, I had to drink the broth they were sitting in after, haha. Cooked to perfection with a shallot-wine-lemon-esque dressing that I've never tasted before.Lastly, we had the special of the night, a pasta with crab and shrimp that was to die for! Similar base as the sauce that the mussels came in, but different and great! I had mine with gluten free noodles which held their shape!I'm not sure the next time I'll be back in Philly, but this is at the tippy top of my list when I do! Thanks Ambrosia for the delicious food!

If you're looking for a nice intimate dinner walking distance from Rittenhouse, look no further! We were seated inside, which is surprisngly big with good distance between tables to allow for conversation. Service was amazing and our server even offered us a better table once another dinner party had moved out. Both dishes we got were delicious and cooked to perfection. I think Ambrosia is an incredible staple restaurant that you simply cannot go wrong with!

Came to Ambrosia for dinner after being lured in by a promising video online. Sadly, the in-person experience wasn't quite as delicious as the video. The restaurant has outdoor seating and indoor in two adjacent buildings. We were seated upstairs in the rear building, which was tastefully decorated although right next to a large service station. The room is very loud- we had trouble hearing each other over our two-top. The meal was unexciting, sadly, although presented prettily. Our artichoke toast arrived on cold, chewy-hard toasts and was clearly simply grilled artichokes out of the commercially marinated jars. Burrata was better with a tasty eggplant dip side, but again the bread was hard, cold, and a somewhat poor representation of sourdough. Pastas were alright, but not spectacular. The squid ink spaghettini was quite fishy, and the short rib pasta was too far the chewy side of Al dente while reminding us a little of grown up Chef Boyardee. Veal medallions were adequate but not great, broccolini quite salty and a bit cold. Overall 3/5 for quality although the amount of food is good for the price. Sadly not every restaurant can live up to the hype on socials.

Once I arrived, there was a check in desk right outside. The lady that checked me in was quite friendly. She asked if I wanted to sit in the old or new dining room because they recently expanded. She showed me to the new dining room first and I decided to take the table there. My friend and I ordered 2 starters: salmon belly and mussels, and 2 entree: squid ink spaghetti and risotto. The salmon belly was alright, nothing too special. The mussels were better. I like their sauce, a bit of a spicy kick in it. Not bad. With the two entrees I felt they are not bad, pretty good. Maybe I have a bit higher expectations for this restaurant, especially after checking out others' reviews, I felt their dishes are not extremely delicious to the point I felt that wow I need to come back and try more. At the end of the meal, we wrapped it up with a creme brûlée, which was not bad. Not too sweet with the crispy melted sugar on top. Overall, the meal was delicious but somehow not satisfying enough for me.

Ambrosia offers delicious Italian food in a quaint setting near the Schuykill River Park, perfect for a cozy date night. The butternut squash ravioli was DELICIOUS (I could have licked my plate!) but we were underwhelmed by the salmon. Homemade gelato was great! It's a bit cramped inside but still very classy with plenty of enclosed outdoor seating. Service was average - it seemed like they were rushing and they were not prepared to accept a mobile gift card. I would definitely go back to try more of the menu based on the ravioli and gelato and the classy atmosphere, but we weren't quite as blown away as we had expected.

We went for a walk in dinner on July 21 around 630 and got sat immediately. We brought a bottle of wine because the website says BYOB but they for sure have a full wine list and cocktails! We started off with a aperol spritz and a margarita with a tajin rim which was soooooo delicious! Bread service was sooooo good! The sauce that came with bread was amazing and we could have eaten multiple baskets of it but we wanted to save room for the rest. We started with raw oysters, grilled artichokes with ricotta on toast, salmon belly crudo which was soo fresh and delicious, and a burrata with an eggplant caponata. The starters were so flavorful and delicious! For dinner we shared a mushroom ravioli with truffle and walnuts, and the branzino with a fresh corn tomato salad. The pasta was so fresh and flavorful. Server was very attentive, as well as the whole staff. We were always filled with water, plates cleared as soon as we were finished and everyone was very friendly. We finished with the crème brûlée and hazelnut sorbet. Perfect ending to a wayyyyy too big of a meal but we wanted everything! Loved the cozy intimate feeling of inside the restaurant with the open kitchen. Outside streetery looks like a fun place to enjoy a meal as well! We will def be back! Glad to have this in the neighborhood!

I've been here twice in the span of a few weeks and both times, my experience as just okay. The pasta dishes sound super tasty on the menu but fell a bit short in taste. Also, the first time we were a group of 6 and one of my friends found a bug in his food! The server offered to remake the dish but did not take it off the check which was a little frustrating. As far as food goes, the first time I ordered the Crispy Gnocchi with Goat Cheese, which was good but I definitely felt there was a lack of sauce / the dish was quite dry. The second time I ordered the Truffle Tortelloni, which was good if you love truffle, but I personally felt it was too heavy on the truffle flavor and a bit hard to get through. The bread they give with each meal and the tomato sauce is pretty good, and I like the warm heated partitioned outdoor dining option in intimate "pods" during the cold weather! Overall, however, I would definitely try other Italian spots in Philly before coming here again.

Been twice. Absolute best restaurant I've ever been to in the USA. Duck and mushroom tortelloni were both delicious and cooked perfectly. Portion sizes were perfect. Service excellent as well.
