Our server, Ricky was amazing! I hope you have the good fortune to have him as your waiter. Very cute entrance with a mural of the amalfi coast on the wall next to the stair case. Very rustic interior with lots of seating for big groups and small groups.I couldn't decide if I wanted the beef/veal bolognese, I'm not a huge fan of veal. And Ricky brought over some for me to try. The tomato cream sauce was amazing but I'm not a huge fan of veal, so I went with the gamberini. And omg. The white wine sauce with the capers, shrimp, spinach and cherry tomatoes...AND the home made linguine. Absolutely divine. The caprese was amazing with a thick glaze balsamic vinegar sauce, fresh basil, tomato and mozzarella. Bf had the four cheese pizza, it usually comes with a white sauce but Ricky told us about it in advance so we opted for the tomato sauce and it was perfect. Not too rich given the four kinds of cheese. I stole a slice and it was heaven.Excellent selection of alcohol - particularly the Prosecco and the ruby port! The tiramisu tasted like the ones from the amalfi coast. The chefs are so cute and so good at their craft. Highly recommend for your next date night or big pow wow with all of the friends.

Ambiance and Aesthetic: Beautiful, but service and food were disappointing.I came here to celebrate my partner's birthday and made a reservation three weeks in advance for a party of 7. While the ambiance and decor were lovely, the experience fell short in a few key areas. Our waitress, Randesha (according to the receipt, as there were no name tags), was unfortunately not attentive or friendly. She seemed more engaged with a nearby table full of white guests, often smiling and laughing with them, while we were left feeling neglected.Five of us ordered drinks, and two didn't like what they received. The same issue occurred with the food - out of seven of us, five (myself included) didn't enjoy our meals. My dish was bland and lacked flavor. Myself and two others wanted to send our plates back, but we hesitated because of the waitress's demeanor. I was one of them. To make matters worse, we were asked if we wanted a birthday dessert for my partner. We said yes, but it never arrived, even after waiting and eventually leaving out of frustration.I spent over $100 for myself and my partner, which felt steep for what was ultimately a mid-tier experience. My friends also spent a considerable amount, and I feel bad because I was the one who chose the place. In total we spent close to $500....As someone who works the front desk at a nearby hotel, I had hoped this would be a spot I could confidently recommend to guests. Sadly, I can't say that's the case, and I likely won't be returning.

What a beautiful restaurant. The moment you walk in, you're transported to Italy! Amazing decor and ambiance. The drinks are beautiful and refreshing. Highly recommend a lemon spritz for those summer nights. My boyfriend and I shared a pizza, pasta, and salad. The food came out quick and piping hot. Our waitress was so attentive and came by often to check on us. Highly recommend this place if you're in the downtown Atlanta area!

You can find Amalfi Cucina & Mercato at 17 Andrew Young International Blvd NE Atlanta, GA 30303. From the street there's a somewhat hard-to-read sign and what's basically an alleyway that has a set of stairs up to the restaurant - for those who may know (IYKYK) the Red Phone Booth is at the front. Parking is at nearby lots and fairly expensive - I'd forgo those, park somewhere free next to s MARTA station and take the train to Peachtree Center - something of an adventure itself and you'll burn a few calories before eating.I've eaten at Amalfi several times, mostly during Dragon Con - it had become something of a tradition to celebrate my friend Alec's birthday there as most can find something on the menu worth eating. On this Sunday during DC (last night as I'm writing this review), we came prepared with reservations arriving at 7:04 for a reservation at 7:45, hanging out at a rather undersized (and way, way overworked) full-bar for a table. The bar has stools for about a dozen and you can order food from there, but to me it's a bit crowded. During Dragon Con the place is pretty much swamped with a line down the stairs - speaking of stairs, I'm not sure if there's access elsewhere and they're somewhat intimidating to those with mobility issues. When we were seated we were taken to this huge banquet table next to the open kitchen (impressive pizza oven, by the way) that could seat about 12-16 people (there were 5 in our party) - it was a bit odd as we shared the table with another group without any hint of it being "family style" - the table is at the edge of the kitchen where plates are stacked - it made for a noisy location so be aware if you're seated at the same table.Orders were taken with three pizzas and two pastas. I ordered a Caesar and someone else ordered the fried artichokes. I ordered the chicken fettuccine alfredo (was going to get a pizza also, which I've had in the past but was lured away by someone at the bar eating the same dish). My Caesar was adequate if a bit over-dressed (which is common in Atlanta restaurants so no real complaints) - it had a cheesy parmesan wafer so cool. The artichokes however, were just hammered and dark brown - looked like the oil needed to be changed. My companion only ate about half of it so very disappointing. About 20 minutes went by and all the food was run to our end of the table except mine. 10 minutes went by and finally the server came by to ask what was missing - note that she had a lot of tables and was very busy. Another 10 minutes and she came back to tell me a manager would be by to speak to me. In the meanwhile everyone was eating and food was delivered to the other group at the table. Finally my dish showed up with most there having already finished. The alfredo had an odd quality to it, somewhat sweet and over-creamed. It also broke about the time I started eating it. I quickly ate to catch up with my friends and the GM showed to to say "I wasn't happy about the quality of your dish so had it remade. Pick a dessert and I'll comp it." - Sorry that whole exchange was BS - when I got my check they took off $12 for the entree - any quality restaurant would have just comped my meal. I didn't raise a stink as it was my friend's birthday - I did ask about my dining companions food, and two that had pizzas said theirs were soggy. The final straw was when Alec noticed a roach crawling up the wall and crushed it. Anyway, I'm not sure what's happening to this place but you may want to consider what I've written and look elsewhere - it's unlikely we'll be back. Note that the server was very sweet and at a loss regarding what happened, she was tipped well.

I ate here my first name for DragonCon with a few friends and had an alright time. Scenery is fancy, the entry way is very attractive. Parking sucks, but it's Atlanta, what do you expect. If you can Uber and get dropped off, that's my suggestion. Service was quick and pleasant. The server I had was attentive and easy to work with. I'd say that this is a pretty decent date spot just for the fanciness. The problem I had was with the food. The version of their "Bruschetta" is lazy. You get a cup of tomatoes and a cup of olive oil with some ricotta cheese. I guess the concept is to "build your own bruschetta" which is fine, but it was just meh. It's a good chance the tomato salsa has been sitting in the fridge for a few days. I feel that had it actually been "assembled" it probably would have been tastier. For my entree, I got the Veal Bolognaise hoping I would get what I saw in the pictures on their site. Unfortunately, the pasta they used was bucatini. The kind that has the hole down the center and is usually pretty thick. Unfortunately, the pasta wasn't fully cooked. It could have been cooked on the pan longer when they try to emulsify the sauce and noodles before plating it up and serving it. This made it difficult to spoon the pasta to my fork, so I end up getting sauce on my face as some of the pasta is just sticking up like a cow lick in your hair. Overall, I'd say it's a pass for me next time. Good luck!

IM NOT STROGANOFF TO RESIST YOU! Today marks my six year anniversary with my partner. It's crazy how time has flown. I found Amalfi Cucina & Mercato on Yelp, where else... and decided to make a reservation. This Italian restaurant is NEXT LEVEL! Meaning before the owner opened this restaurant he traveled to Italy to get the correct experience before opening this Italian restaurant. The menu is phenomenal it offers so many different things. From pasta and pizzas to salads and much much more. I ordered the Veal Piccata as I didn't always get to eat that when I am home. It was delicious. Though I did not like that it came with spaghetti noodles. Typically this dish as it is pretty rich, it will come with mashed potatoes or rice. Something that will complement the dish, not make it richer. When we were sitting here and eating, it did not feel like I was in Atlanta Georgia. It felt like we were in an Italian restaurant in NYC. It's awesome to have a different kind of eating experience at least once in a while. Overall, this restaurant is the read deal! Traditional Italian food. Made in house with an open kitchen. 100% recommend, but MAKE A RESERVATION! That will save you some time!

We had a business dinner at this restaurant and everyone loved it so much that we came again on the third night of a 3-day trip. The fish that was definitely a crowd favorite was the chocolate bomb dessert which has three flavors of gelato (pistachio, chocolate, strawberry) in a hard chocolate shell. And it was mainly because of this dessert that everyone wanted to eat here again! The pizza was also very well done especially the veggie one which was my favorite as compared to the shrimp which turned out to be much saltier than needed. Appetizers like the calamari and the artichoke were delicious, the eggplant was ok.Vibe is quite chill, casual and a shout out to the staff for great recommendations and being timely with our food. It was always crowded when we went, even on a weeknight!

Yelp check-in = 20% off, what an amazing offer, thank you!Update - Limited "good" restaurant selections within walking distance from the hotel, so we came back on day 2. BTW, some areas in downtown Atlanta are NOT safe, so pay attention to your surroundings and I do NOT suggest engaging with the people approaching you for $$$.Quality/Quantity - Spicy Sicilian Pizza - Good, mild spicy. Decent size, enough for two light eaters. I would have preferred the crust to be baked a little longer. The sauce runs through the dough making it too limp. See picture. My daughter would have preferred more dough.Veal Bolognese - Good flavors. My wife felt the pasta was undercooked. My daughter and I were okay with it. It would have been nice to have had some bread to soak up all that sauce.Tiramisu - My wife really liked this.Creature Comforts Automatic Pale Ale; Athens, Georgia - I, of course, had to wash the good food with a local beer. Day 2: Just my wife and I; my daughter had an event to attend.Pizza Amalfi - I wanted to try their signature pizza this time. It was very similar to the Spicy Sicilian Pizza. I think the biggest difference was the sweet jam, to me.Nonna's Spaghetti and Meatballs - My wife wanted a red sauce pasta, and they have limited red sauce options. The noodles were different from the spaghetti that I am accustomed to. They were like spaghetti and angel hair style noodles. Everything else was just okay, not good or bad, just plain spaghetti.I sampled both local beers today and settled for the same local Creature Comfort Automatic Pale Ale as before. Guess I am a creature of old habits. Also available - Full bar, wine, etc. Also available - Lunch and kids menu.Atmosphere - Small restaurant, but crazy busy.We were told to wait 45 minutes, but they did not text us until over an hour later. Good thing we had happy hour today; see Ray's in the City review.Your exterior sign is so faded, can I suggest replacing it?(Day 2 - Wow, guess you listened. A new sign on day two; see picture!)Walk down a narrow cool decorated hallway and up some stairs through a crowd of people waiting to get a table to leave your name and # with the hostess.Open kitchen, also known for their pizza oven.Their pasta is also made in-house; see picture.Table, booth, bar, etc. seating.Clean bathrooms; see picture.Open 7 days a week from 11:30am till 10pm or 11pm, Sundays only open for dinner.Day 2 - What a contrast to our first visit. Came early today as I did not want a late dinner before my early fight tomorrow. Almost NO customers the entire time I was here today... I do know that the local hotels had an off site event, so thousands of people left the area. Service - I totally understand that we got the last seating and could tell that our server was tired and probably done for the day. Other servers still seemed to have energy though. Had to remind our server that my beer was still sitting at the bar after 20 minutes. Had to ask him to take our order. Had to have someone get him to refill our water, etc... I did not dock this review because of him.Day 2 - Service was better. But then we got some disgusting beer sample glasses! How can both the bartender and waiter not notice? And the other glass was cracked, a huge danger to guests. The waiter gave me a new beer sample, but NOT a good start for day 2. The rest of the service was okay.I believe the manager walked by and said hi to us; a nice guy. But because it was such a slow business day today, can I suggest someone check and wash the glassware? Most of the team was just standing around talking amongst themselves.Price - $51+ probably more generous tip than deserved; GREAT value with the Yelp check-in of 20% off. Our dinner was actually less expensive than our lunch. Also less expensive than our happy hour.Day 2 - $41 + generous tip.Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2016 and with your two locations.

Meh..... Taste like a better TV dinner. I got the Beef Bolognese and my noodles were spaghetti noodles and hard. I understand we came at 9:30pm, but there's no way they consider this Bolognese or anything close to Italian. My sauce was as if it came straight out of a jar.... Not sure where the beef or veal comes in at.. Never coming here again. The Alfredo taste like frozen tv dinner with extra pepper. Fail!
