Almanqal Mediterranean Grill

I'm new to Seattle from Cleveland, Ohio where Lebanese food is abundant and delicious. I was craving some comfort food tonight, and wanting a taste of home. However, I wouldn't recommend the vegetarian appetizers. I ordered my usual favorite - foul medames - expecting a traditional garlicky and olive oil finished plate of mashed fava beans, but what came was whole, cold beans absolutely drenched in a hummus-like sauce. Wait, what? And the dolmas were covered in seasoned salt - not the fresh, light, lemony bite I'd expected, but just so so salty! The lentil soup was broth only - not like puréed lentils, but watery broth that was missing lentils (and maybe chicken based, because it coagulated - so be warned vegetarians. I had one bite and stopped because I'm almost certain it was). We also had the beets and the baba ghanoush, and they were also both somehow disappointing! How do you mess those up? To be honest, we both have upset tummies now after eating. The pita bread was nice though, soft and pillowy. And the baklava was delicious. But it doesn't make up for the rest of the meal.

Seriously? 4.8 stars? We paid over $100 for this crappy food. Chicken was fuxxin' dry, tasted like a few days old left over, I almost broke my teeth. Fries are horrible. Looks like vomit. Frozen fries are 10x better. I am so mad that I want money back. They also missed my salad. Tasted like garbage. Seriously NOT EDIBLE.

First off, Almanqal isn't a traditional restaurant with table service. You pick a table, grab a menu then order at the front. Only plastic cups for water and you also need to grab cutlery. Now that we've established it's very casual, you are ready to go. Their pita is very good, handmade,fresh and hot. My friend and I ordered the mezze platter and a sandwich each, which was too much food. We both took the sandwich to go.The hummus and baba ghanouj were total winners, as was the fried cauliflower. The beet salad was meh, unseasoned steamed beets, super sad after the other three wonder. Prices are a little high but portions are good.

This place was some of the best Mediterranean food I've ever had!!! It is jam packed with flavor and the meat was cooked and seasoned to perfection. It might seem pricey but the quantity of food was generous and the taste definitely made it worth it. We got an entree that came with a side of Greek fries and it filled both of us up with some leftovers as well:)

I've called Seattle home for nearly three decades, and I just had to share my love for Almanqal Mediterranean restaurant and its talented chef, Haqi. In a nutshell, this place is extraordinary. After trying lamb, beef, and chicken dishes all around town, I can confidently say that Almanqal is in a league of its own. The flavors are simply incredible, and the meats are exceptionally tender. If you're a fan of lamb, beef, or chicken, you absolutely must pay them a visit.Their lentil soup is a warm hug in a bowl, and the Lamb Shank is a culinary masterpiece that practically melts in your mouth.Almanqal is now my go-to spot for forever. If you're in search of a fantastic Mediterranean meal, look no further. This place is a hidden Seattle treasure that you need to experience. Don't miss out!

Ate in once years ago and remember it's warm and cozy feel. Got takeout last week and the warmth came with the food! Food is always delicious, albeit a bit pricey. But everything tastes super fresh! Baba ghanoush is smooth and smoky (note: only comes with 1 piece of pita, wasn't enough). Fried cauliflower is probably my favorite side! Fattoush is the only mediocre item I wouldn't recommend (soggy, flavorless). Greek fries are big, raw garlic forward, but good. Vegetarian option is falafel, and it's good!! Nothing ground breaking, but reliably delicious and filling every time. Always happy to return

Great food, staff was really fun. Garlic sauce was amazing! Wife and I both had loved our meal and the service.

My daughter wanted Mediterranean food for her graduation party. We needed to feed 20 hungry (but discerning) adults, ordered from Almanqal, and we couldn't be more delighted. The chicken was heaven-sent, as were the beef kafta, while the baba ghanoush was as good as it gets. Extremely reasonable and our entire home was filled with the aroma of the homemade, absolutely fantastic meal. 10 out of 10 stars!

Just a quick trip to Almanqal today and Haqi did an amazing job creating the spread below. It was fresh and delicious as usual. We always feel so good after eating here! Personally, this is the best falafel I've ever had.
