Akimi Sushi and Stir Fry

After checking out Galaxy Lights at NASA, we were looking for a later dinner in the area. Akimi Sushi and Stir Fry was only a few minutes away so we made our way before they closed at 10 p.m. Parking was easy as they're located in a shopping center. We were seated and started looking over their large menu. I started off with a Tsingtao and some hot sake. Always a fan of sake bombs at a Japanese restaurant. From there, I got a cup of wonton soup, some sweet chili wings, and some sushi. The prices are affordable which is always a plus which allowed me to get some variety. The soup was great and served with wontons which you don't see often. The wings were a good size. The sushi, while not my favorite, was interesting. It had tempura chicken. My first time having chicken in sushi. I appreciated the creativity. Service was standard. The restaurant itself is nice. Your run-of-the-mill Japanese spot. And it's a good one to get a good meal at a good price.

Quick stop to satisfy my sushi craving!! Great happy hour menu that starts @ 2p!! Dom, my server, was super attentive and the restaurant was quiet around this hour... after lunch rush and before true happy hours...Roll was satisfying and I love the pepper tuna!! Must try!! The salmon was ok but the hamachi pulled through delish!! Overall great experience and all this food plus a large sake for under $35! Can't beat it!!

I probably eat here once a week for lunch. the lunch menu is decent. I often get the curry chicken or vinegar chicken, with fried rice. The egg rolls are pretty good. the service is fast and friendly. The food comes out quick. it's usually pretty good, though sometimes the food can be a little bit inconsistent. though all in all a decent place for lunch. I have also been here for dinner before and it's been pretty dead and the food not great. I'd never eat the sushi here, that's asking for trouble. LOL! Much more of a lunch place in my mind. YMMV.

Casual, easy, & local Pan-Asian restaurant for standard dishes under one roof - If you're looking for a wide variety of different types of Asian American cuisine, you can find general tsos, pho, stir fry, noodles, standard sushi, pad Thai, fried rice, etc options all on the menu. I came for sushi (so can only speak on that) but giving it 3 stars because it tasted like grocery store brought (not as fresh as I would've like). Family friendly ambiance.

This place is so cheap. Mediocre sushi. They got my order wrong and I had to drive and take it back. They acted like they were doing me a favor by not charging me the extra $1 for the meal I originally ordered and took the meal back that they got wrong. There's better sushi around-- check out Ohayo, Kura, or Masa sushi.

I love the sushi at this restaurant! It's fresh and at a very affordable price. But the Basil Spicy fried rice is the star of the show for the price. The portions are "Texas Sized" and it is very filling!Not to mention, the wait staff is always courteous and attentive and deliveries in the area, are "lickity-split" quick-FAST throughout the Bay Area.If your ever on NASA 1 and want some fresh sushi and a meal for a bargain, I recommend Akimi! This is a great place for Chinese food and Sushi Rolls. It is NOT a stereotypical take out place (although you can order to go). Very nice casual sit down. Food is always fresh and tasty. Wait Staff is always VERY polite and helpful.

Akimi Sushi and Stir Fry have more than enough variety for sushi lovers everywhere. They do serve other dishes for people who don't like sushi, like me for example, to enjoy. The prices are decent, and the staff are good at their job. They have TVs that show sports and cartoons. Akimi staff make sure everywhere is clean, and they only use fresh, local ingredients. I will admit that their egg rolls are not the greatest ever. They leave a really bad aftertaste. Also, the portions for their lunch specials at Akimi are too big. I would love to take my sushi-fanatic big brother here next time.
