Visted Akashi Fusion Asian and Sushi Bar on a whim after looking on Yelp to find the closest sushi spot. I was gifted sake from Tokyo and I wanted to pair it with sushi. I stopped by to order takeout and they had a full house dining in--great sign if it's your first time at an eatery! There was a nice lady behind the bar who assisted me with ordering. She noted it would be a 20-25 minute wait and I was ok with that. After I arrived several other guests came for takeout and even though there was a wait time, they happily waited--another positive sign! I ordered the black pepper tuna (appetizer) and two sushi rolls. Sadly, I can't remember what they were called but they were fresh and delicious! I was very impressed because good sushi in the suburbs is hard to come by. I'll definitely come back and I look forward to trying other things on the menu.

Top Sushi: New Orleans Roll / Bottom Sushi: Houston Roll. They are amazing I highly recommend these two, please be aware that these sushi's do contain raw tuna or fish. Overall customer service was excellent, they were efficient and very attentive. The ambiance was very modern I loved it and I love that this restaurant plays a variety of music that's accommodating to all which was very cool. Their sushi is very delicious and I love the fact that they also offer other dishes besides sushi for those who may not eat sushi. They're very accommodating to their customers which to me it shows their appreciation for their customers.

This place is in a pretty quiet but busy area. But when you come in the service is really good and the food is always on point. My go to is the chicken fried rice and with an appetizer I go with the home run with egg rolls. With the sushi I always like it cooked so I go with my salmon rolls. Always good spot to go and finish off with a nice cold beverage.

This place is in a great area and seems to be busy a lot! The inside is very cool and has a nice vibe at night. The staff was great and very friendly. They had some of the best sushi I have ever tasted and the other food was great as well!! The prices are a little on the expensive side but for the quality and portions it is well worth it!!! And it's just right down the road from us so we cannot wait to go back!

This is my new go to spot. I don't know why I haven't taken pictures yet. The food is delicious and service is great. I order to go a lot and I think it's reasonably priced for the amount of food and quality you get. The general chicken is my go to and recently had the salt and pepper shrimp. It's all good!

It was fine but not fine enough to be standing in line waiting for a table for. But maybe those people know something that I don't. I had an avocado/salmon sushi roll, miso soup and Kung pao shrimp. For the price, the sushi roll was laughably tiny. There was thin layer of rice on the exterior, but at least the interior hosted a big hunk of fish. I wasn't pleased with the taste so I didn't eat it all. The miso was just miso. Nice and hot. The Kung pao was decent. The shrimp were plentiful. The vegetables were fresh and still a bit crunchy, which is my preference. I just with there were less of those baby corns and more of the other vegetables. The baby corn was like 60% of the makeup! The sauce was nice and rich, but I did miss that classic schezuan chili spice! So like I said, all-in-all fine, but I could go somewhere else and be much more satisfied.

We've ordered from here a few times -dine in and take out. Tonight we did takeout and the food was just as good as dining in. They also prepared it really quickly and it was ready when they said it would be. Pretty generous portions and a good variety. I had the seafood tempura dish and it was really filling. The miso soup was also good as was the sushi roll (not pictured) and bento box my dining mate ordered l. They gave us more than enough soy sauce and fortune cookies.

Good or even decent sushi is hard to come by outside the loop, at least for me, so to have a consistently good spot is very welcome. Right off the belt and W Lake Houston, Akashi is located in a newer development of Humble, and I've already come here a few times and just reviewing it now. The menu is extensive and includes standard Chinese food in addition to the Japanese fare and sushi. Suffice to say, I haven't tried their Chinese, and while I'm sure the General Tso's chicken is fantastic, I'm probably going to stick with the Japanese offerings. Apps are tasty, like the Hokkaido Baked Scallop and shumai. As for sushi, every roll we've had was pretty good, with a few standouts, such as the Shaggy Dog, Akashi roll, and King Lobster. I lean more towards Nigiri/Sashimi, and I'm happy to report they're fantastic as well. Never had an issue with service and the place does get busy during weekend dinner, but overall, never gets too full. As I mentioned, I've already been here a couple of times and I plan on coming back regularly.

I feel like we only end up here out of convenience. It's really just ok to me. But when I want sushi and my wife wants a bento box this the spot we settle on. The service is always good and the restaurant is always quiet and clean. Food doesn't taken long to arrive. So again it's heavy on the convenience.

I enjoy this chain and its variety. From Chinese American to Japanese American, Akashi serves both types of cuisines well. The interior is casual but nice, with a full bar including bar seating as necessary. You can enjoy the latest sports games while you dine. The expansive menu offers a great variety. For the Chinese main dishes, one chooses the protein and then preparation style. The pupu platter is a great option for a sampler platter. On the Japanese side of the menu, there's a huge selection of rolls. I thoroughly enjoyed the Utah roll which had a bit of everything in terms of filling. The fish is always fresh tasting.Service is so-so. The wait staff is very young and not as attentive as other places. Still an overall great spot that offers the standard fare. Don't expect anything mind blowing, but the execution is solid.
