Akashi Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar

This was our first time come here. Not only was the service bad but the food was not cooked. The gyoza tasted like rancid pork. The "chicken" fried rice the chicken is in quotes because I've never received see through chicken before. The photo looks better than it did in person. When the server finally checked on us 20 minutes after receiving our food we let him know these two items were inedible to which he told us "yeah, sorry" and brought the check. Needless to say never returning again.

We visited a couple different times throughout December. Because it's a family favorite. Like from the 77 year old to the 5 year old. Service is always great and if there is a mix up on something they quickly correct and make it right. Their sushi and hibachi are most favored but we also love the family meals (great price for so much variety in food). It's pretty cool that the whole family loves it!

Love that this place is in the neighborhood! It's not unassuming (it's certainly one of the nicest places on the lake), but you wouldn't think a sushi place on Lake Conroe would be THIS good... but it is!! I've sat both at the bar and received table service. Both experiences are quite enjoyable! The wait staff here is fabulous. They always have great recommendations, and their suggestions have become our favorites. All of the sushi rolls I've had are excellent, but my personal favorite is the "Art of Maki". I could eat that every day!! I 1000% recommend.Drinks are great, rolls are great, all of their other food is great. You really can't go wrong. With a big group or just a date night, if you're looking for any sort of Asian food in the Montgomery area, give Akashi a visit!

My wife and I enjoyed our second visit recently for lunch. Fast, friendly service, and great views of lake Conroe. Between the two of us we ordered three sushi rolls -- Fuji volcano, mango tango, and New Orleans. Of those 3 we liked the mango tango the best because it wasn't heavy on the palette. Our second favorite was the Fuji volcano, with great seafood flavor paired nicely with the other ingredients. It was ok, but I probably wouldn't order the New Orleans roll again.All in all, we're fans and will be back.

It's been several years since I've dined here. And I've never been to their new location. The food this time was pretty good, and the service was too. Their menus could use some refurbishing as they were torn up pretty bad, time to maybe retire those. The seating was spacious and we had a view of the lake. The interior was nicely decorated and looked pretty clean. I don't have any complaints regarding food quality, interior or service. I will update if that changes though!

This review is only for Hibachi as we did not use the regular restaurant or menu.Plenty of room and seating. We arrived at 12:15pm and the place seemed empty except a couple customers which seemed odd for a Sunday lunchtime on the lake.We asked for Hibachi and hostess asked if we had an appt, we said no and hostess said OK but we asked if we would have to wait for a table to be full before cooking would start if so we would of opted for regular restaurant.Hostess said no problem and got us seated quickly and all the hibachi tables were empty except me and my GF. We had the table along back wall and had a great view looking out over the lake.Drinks and salad and soup arrived fast then chef arrived a few minutes later.We ordered salmon, chicken and shrimp.. plenty of food as we could not finish it all and took leftovers in to go container.Everything was seasoned good and tasted great. Our Chef was one my GF has had in previous visits to this place with her daughter so our conversation was more of a friendly manner then first visit small talk.Highly recommend hibachi

1st time here. This location is located on Lake Conroe and can be accessed by car or by boat. There is a dress code however as noted in my photos. This is a modern looking establishment with an exciting menu and beautiful bar center stage. Bathrooms are separated for male & for female and very clean. Patronage was on a Monday afternoon with a party of 9 from the lake side, by boat, to celebrate a birthday. Service was satisfactory. Waiter appeared new and uninformed with a very docile personality. Food was:Sushi - very good. Appeared freshFood was OKHibachi - not good. Dry/tastelessBeautiful location with a beautiful view of the lake but definitely NOT worth the $100's of dollars spent. Should maybe stick to sushi only and drinks.

Excellent rolls. We had the Crispy Las Vegas and the Lady Gaga rolls. The water was kind and efficient.

Ate here for lunch on a Monday. Had 12 in our party. Got seated quickly. Service was great. I had the Mongolian trio. And it came out perfectly.

I'm not sure what happened to the beef in the Kung Pao Beef, but the texture was like rubber. I hate to leave a bad review, but I also hate to spend a lot of money on something that could not be eaten. This is something that any cook could have known had they sampled their dish.
