Aj's Grilled Burgers & Snowcones

I was pleasantly surprised to find a great burger place in the 'Lief. AJ's isn't just a great burger place, but it's also a refresqueria and Mexican food joint, all rolled into one. Now, normally I'm a little hesitant with places that try to do too much, since I really do believe most places can only do one thing/style right. I'm glad to report that AJ's proved me wrong today. Between my party and I we ordered burgers, a burrito, 2 aguas frescas, and a slush. We are all thrilled with what we ordered. Now, I have high standards for my burgers and this places did not disappoint. I ordered the Mega Burger, the first thing in their menu, therefore the signature burger, right? 3 beef patties, cheese, lettuce and tomato with some sauce. I was very satisfied with everything about my burger. The flavor was right, the meat wasn't over cooked and the patties were juicy. Add some fries that were cooked just right and my ice cold agua de sandia, and I was left very full and very happy. The lady who took our order was very sweet, so that added to the experience. One drawback is the neighborhood, but there's not much you can do about that.

First time ordering. Got delivery. Took about 1hr 15. Had asked for only cheese and lettuce on my cheese burger. Got every condiment and more on there, especially some out of my diet. So had to scrape all of it off and have a good sized but sloppy burger, which should have been simple, cheese, lettuce and patty. Also got the flautas. Just opened the box and they look great. Hoping the best for those!!!Wait...nope...I'm back. The flautas,Even worse. The chicken was so fried, it was just crisp and it seems they through a bunch of stuff over it to cover it up. Come on y'all? The menu looks exciting, but you really messed with my first impression of this place.

This place has some pretty good burgers, but they're not going to blow your mind. The place itself is rather eclectic, but the staff is very friendly. While I enjoyed the burger, the fries could have used more seasoning and I was rather disappointed with my banana shake.

Fries too seasoned but I ordered through grubhub and nothing was right with my order. Hamburger tasted good but would have perfer the way i ordered plus took them 40 mins for "takeout " to be ready. Snow-cones are good

FRESH sliced HOT jalapenos added on request. No watered-down, tepid, pickled jalapeno's here. Food is freshly cooked to order. The new location on Bissonnet in the Keegan Center has plenty of parking and clean inside dining. Menu is very reasonably priced in the $ range.In addition to the TexMex tacos, you can also get foodtruck tacos for $1. The burger patty is only 1/4 lb, so I would recommend the double. The Mexican Fireburger cones with all the fixings and condiments plus a spicey salsa that will leave your lips and tongue tingling.

It's a nice little joint for burgers! They have all types of snacks and desserts and different dishes including PUPUSAS! Not 5 stars because of canned drinks instead of a drink fountain but expected from a Hispanic owned place.

The burgers are great we ordered one double cheeseburger basket and my husband ordered a Aj's Mexican Fire triple meat burger. Pretty good food we paid 34$ for those two burgers and a mineral water a little pricy I think but other than that it was good The place was clean just wasn't to excited to sit on the tables with the sofa chairs but they also have regular tables. Recommend it for maybe a place to go with the kids on a Sunday eat some Snowcones and burgers

Last time I came was about 2-3 years ago and gave this place one star. I gotta say, they have definitely improved their service AND food. Service was fast and food was made to order but also fast! I ordered the AJ Fire burger and it was delicious! Costs about $9 but it comes with a drink and fries. It did have a little but too much mustard, so if you're not a fan ask for light mustard. The lady at the counter was very kind and helpful with the menu, she brought out our drinks and appetizers right away. What a comeback ! Will be back for more (:

Food is made to order however you want it. Service is always awesome and if you come as much as me they will remember you. This is not a place you come for the Ambulance... you come for the quality food and the great service.

My daughter & I visited here for just a snowcone, HORRIBLE if I can put zero stars I would have. Tastes like they use regular ice cubes and the syrup was sugarless
