AJ's Fine Foods

I'm here to report solely on the gooey chocolate chip cookies they sell on the bakery... OH MY GOSHHHH!!! They aren't the ones in the glass cases, but on top, sitting atop a warming oven to keep them fresh and warm until the second you get them. Not sure if this is something you should know, bc you might become as addicted as I am. But it's an easy pickup, just run inside to the bakery where you'll be quickly greeted by friendly staff and ask for the fresh chocolate chip cookies. Go early bc they sell out! Thank me (or hate me, ha!) later!

It's great grocer to get gourmet food and then some. I love everything about AJs! Conveniently located. Covered parking available. As well as outdoor seating to enjoy lunch, sweets, or to sip on sweet tea.

This is like a Whole Foods/ wegmans/ Trader Joe's / gelsons. IGs high end, over priced, but they have an awesome selection of different things you can't find other places

Bit overpriced but nice local grocery store. Got local souvenir food gifts from here and a cake. The cake was okay but food gifts were fairly priced. They have a decent selection and is a great place for families to buy groceries.

Whenever I'm in the Phoenix area my go to specialty market-store is AJ's. This is not the store to pickup staples and fill your pantry, it is the store to find the best produce, meats, fish, deli meats and cheeses.I find the bakery to have the best special occasion cakes, as well as delicious small pastries. when you pass by the case you can't resist the napoleon or cream puff calling out your name.Whenever I have to entertain at my house this is the place to order all the food needed. Both hot and cold trays with wonderful fruits, trays of shrimp and many one of a kind salads found only there.For the most part the employees are wonderful and helpful. You need to call catering days in advance for the entertaining platters.

Not at all happy here with the service. Just purchased a drip coffee and it was OVERPOURED, luckily I didn't start drinking it as-is because it would have spilled everywhere in my vehicle. Had to ask for another cup for it. I then got a breakfast sandwich from the prepared foods area, had to ask prices on everything as there was no price menu out, was told the sandwich was $4.99. I was overcharged by nearly double that price at the register. I told the cashier they were $4.99 and that is the price I was quoted. They said they had to check with that department (OBVIOUSLY NOT BELIEVING ME), stalling the transaction and inconveniencing me further. I left after telling the clerk that they can keep the sandwich if they don't believe me. They said they did believe me...ALL LIES AND A TOTAL RUNAROUND HERE AT THIS LOCATION, not impressed. I get better service honestly at Basha's down the street and Trader Joes next door.

New in town. Tried the deli here. $12 for the European sandwich. Girl making sandwich thought it was supposed to be on ciabatta bread. I should have known I was in trouble. She wrapped sandwich so I couldn't see it. Got home and it is not on a baguette but rather a stale sub roll. Worst overpriced sandwich I have ever had. And I waited over a half an hour for them to make it. Do not recommend this place to anyone. Very disappointing.

This is one of the better AJs in the area. I will not go to any other one and it surprises me that they are not all the same. This location has the largest selection of take-home dishes. However, their dishes are not always consistently there. Most of the food is good, but some of the dishes are lacking in flavor. I do wish they would clearly state the ingredients on each plate and offer more gluten-free options. There are items I would consider buying, but due to not knowing what is in them I stay away.

Those who know me, know that I love to travel and explore Grocery Stores. Yes Grocery Stores.... Love seeing new and different products and this is one of my favorites. I love coming to AJ's whenever I am in Phoenix/Scottsdale. They have multiple locations and is a high end culinary grocery store with everything from fancy pastries, ready made meals, and gifts. I start my shopping with some of their Iced Peach Tea which is delicious. They have several flavors to choice from. Next I add Barb's Pink Champagne Petit fore's( If I have time I go to Barb's bakery but AJ's is great) I look around for other great treats and head to the gift section for different gifts to bring home. Always, leave with a couple of bottles of Arizona Sun Products. Always a fun shopping experience.

The lady Valerie, who works at the drink section of AJ is always very unpleasant, makes drinks wrong, and I am pretty sure overcharges on drinks as anytime she checks me out the total is higher compared to any other cashier. very disappointed.
