I don't understand why this place has such good reviews. I've gone twice. The first time I just got a coffee and the coffee was not good. About a year later I was really hungry and decided to give them another chance maybe for food this time. Well, I waited 15 minutes then asked the cashier if he had an ETA, as there was a meeting I had to get to. What they failed to tell me was that there was a catering order ahead of me, my order would be another 15 minutes before they would start making it. He ended up voiding the entire thing, recharging me for my disgusting coffee that I don't even know why i tried again. I wanted to like this place, but I just can't.

This place is conveniently located near the VA Clinic Chula Vista. My father had an appointment there and we arrived early so we walked over to the cafe. It had just opened. As I walked in I was just expecting a coffee shop with some pastries. I was wrong. They have a full on menu and expanded extra seating if you walk further into the cafe. Ingrid and Belinda took care of us and they were so kind. We ordered the following...*CROISSANT EGG SANDWICH -two over medium eggs, applewood smoked bacon, white cheddar cheese, avocado, chipotle aioli, croissant with breakfast potatoes *BACON & EGG GRILLED CHEESE sandwich-scrambled eggs, applewood smoked bacon, yellow cheddar cheese, sourdough bread, side of tater tots For our drinks we ordered Mexican Mochas with Oat milk. Our experience overall was great, staff was kind and food delicious! Thank you!

Worked out of this cafe today and ordered a latte and bagel to munch on while I worked. I went in around noon so it was a little busy but I got my coffee right away and my bagel was warm and full of flavor when I got it. The staff was very friendly and the cafe was very clean. It was a little loud due to the music playing overhead and the amount of people coming in for food or drinks. I will definitely be going back to try the rest of their pastries!

I appreciate that the café has walk-up service and a café in case you're on the go. They have a huge menu with lots of juices, smoothies, full coffee bar, and breakfast food. I would go back for brunch with friends and family but also recommend it for casual breakfast.

This might be one of my favorite cafes in old Chula Vista! When you first walk in, it looks like a typical order up, small cafe, but there is actually seating outside and further into the building which has a great cozy ambiance. This is a great place to order food and or a drink and study/work. My favorite things to order are the matcha latte and VEGAN chilaquiles. I'm not vegan but sometimes prefer healthier options for some of my favorite things to eat. THIS PLACE HAS THE BEST VEGAN CHILAQUILES HANDS DOWN. I've also tried their French toast and other simple breakfast items and have not been disappointed!

The French toast is a hit and the service is great! This place has an a beautiful lounge and patio for breakfast and lunch. The Frappuccino's are also great!

Ambiance was clean, classy & laid back. Service was friendly and attentive. I had a sugar free vanilla latte extra hot served in a ceramic mug. Solid cup of coffee. Free 1 hour parking in the parking garage they are connected to. Outside patio seating as well as plenty of indoor seating.

I have visited Agave Coffee & Cafe at least once a week for the past almost two years. The staff are super friendly and their food is consistent. If you are ordering lunch, I recommend placing a call for pick-up. It can take up to 25 minutes for this order to get completed. Highlights: - Chocolate Banana Bread: Moist, chocolate goodness. - Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookie: My favorite snack selection. This is not available regularly. When you see this as an option, make sure to grab it! - Tater Tots: Crispy! Best side for your lunch. - Avocado Toast: Your typical toast with an added twist: queso fresco. - Caesar Wrap: A chicken Ceasar salad within a flour tortilla- BLTA- Berry Tea: Iced tea with added smashed berries. Yummy afternoon pick-me-up! To be improved: - Their croissants are too flakey and dry. They make a mess. Sad face: - At one point, Agave offered bubble tea options. You had to order your bubble tea earlier in the day or else they would run out. Wherever they ordered from and however they cooked their bubble tea was pretty good. I would love for this to be added to their drinks menu again. Agave Coffee has indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a small back area in case the front gets too full. Back area can be used for larger parties or a little bit more privacy. I would say inside it is an average noise level: not super silent and enough to be able to hear yourself and enjoy a conversation with someone else or a group of people. Single restrooms are available for use with code from staff. All in all, Agave Coffee is a local favorite downtown. A bit on the pricier end for lunch AND worth it.

I go here for lunch on a weekly basis. Staff has been kind and great every time.For the food itself, it's mainly hits, a couple misses but that is just a preference thing. Some highlights for me are the BLTA, their regular burger, Açaí bowl, Bagel and Lox, Chilaquiles, Caesar wrap and their smoothies and juices. Their heated chocolate croissant and chocolate banana loaf is great as well. Dining outside and in their little cafe area is nice and comfy as well.Food is a little expensive, but it's well worth it for me, especially since most of the portions are big.
