My friends and I spontaneously walked in and was able to get a room right away for a really good price. Service was great and the karaoke room was spacious BUT the sound quality was awful. We had the employees come to our room to help turn up the volume and she said a lot of songs do not go any higher and recommended searching for songs through YouTube. That did not always work.Fun spot in a great location, but sound quality does not work which defeats the purpose of karaoke. Bathrooms were also not clean at all :(

I was excited to check out this place while the promo rate of $25/hour was still going on. I forget when it opened exactly, but I came with about 20 or so people for a friend's birthday and we sang for 2 hours, paying less than $3 per person! I'm not sure when the promo will end, so call ahead to check!I'll preface by saying I have been to a lot of the other karaoke places in Chinatown. The rooms were clean and the furniture was better quality than some other places. The TV screen is HUGE, which is a plus. Aside from the lounge seats there were also little Ottomans for people to sit on and move around, so we moved those out of the way when people were dancing in front of the TV. Keep in mind that if your room is as full as ours was it is hard to dance and sing while reading the lyrics on the screen unless you moved around haha. At one point in time we tried changing the A/C temperature, but unfortunately I don't think we could change it. The karaoke system is very similar to the Chinese system used at the other places, but I didn't like that we couldn't fast forward through long intros, turn up the mic volume, or even turn up the background music beyond 20 on the screen...maybe their system could do those things, but the employee wasn't able to show us lol (at other places employees gave a better orientation). Still, can't beat that promo price and I like that it's located on the 2nd floor of Chinatown Square!

They charge $4 gratuity when there is literally no service. When we asked for a drink one of the workers told us to go to the bar. Ive never been to a kareoke place where they didnt have food and drink menus in the room and the servers come and serve you there. Kareoke is a timed session. Us going to the bar not only wastes time but makes us paying the extra $4 pointless and them being greedy for extra money. The only positive thing is the mics are really nice and they have a decent song selection.

My girlfriend and I have a tradition of going out for private room karaoke every Valentine's Day. For the last few years we've gone to Yakitori Boy, but haven't loved their song selection. (For a couple years we actually made the trek up to Manhattan to sing at Duets 35 - which we now hold as the apex of karaoke selection and service.) This year we decided to try something new and give Access a try and let's just say we won't be going back next year.We reserved a room ahead of time. No issues here. The staff was friendly and they had a room free for Valentine's Day. When we arrived we were first taken to the "Moet" room, but the hostess couldn't get the TV or Karaoke system to work (first sign of issues here), so we were then taken to the "Ciroc" room. This room already had music playing and seemed to be in good order. The hostess was helpful and walked us through the touchscreen menu and asked us what we wanted to drink. The English song selection is more limited here than at Yakitori Boy. Numerous pop / rock staples were just not present (Nirvana, Ziggy Stardust era David Bowie, Blue Album era Weezer, Rush, Peter Gabriel, Pixies). This would have been fine if it were the only issue. After finishing our first round of drinks we hit the service button and the hostess took about 10 minutes to check in on our room to take our order. This alone is fairly slow compared to both Yakitori Boy and Duets (both have in-room phones to place orders which require no wait - and the service is FAR quicker). Another 30 minutes went by and our drinks were never delivered. We had to press the service button again and waited another 10 minutes for the hostess to check-in and upon opening the door she realized she hadn't brought our second round of drinks. So, to summarize, it took nearly an hour for us to get our second round of drinks.I think Access is aware that their Karaoke selection is somewhat limited and the hostess showed us how to use the system to access a YouTube app and search for karaoke tracks through the app. Once we had exhausted the songs we wanted to sing on the in-house system we tried to load the YouTube app, but this ended up crashing the system (similar to the "Moet" room we were brought to initially - the TV shut off and the touchscreen stopped working). We had to press the service button again and wait another 10 minutes for someone to check in on us and then reset the system. At this point we were just fed up with the issues...We had originally reserved the room for 3 hours, but left after just 2 (and we spent at least 30 minutes of that time waiting for issues to be resolved and NOT singing). Not a good experience and given the premium price tag ($50 / hour for weekend sessions) the service wasn't even close to as good as Yakitori Boy which is $20 / hour cheaper on the weekend.TL;DR: The premium price tag doesn't equate with better service or song selection. Both Yakitori Boy and Round One offer less expensive options for private room karaoke at a fraction of the price with better service and song selection.

Here we are once again to review access... it's one thing to have up's and downs it's another to just have bad business practices.I'll say a positive 1st... if you're planning to do happy hour karaoke and NOTHING ELSE... Access does the job... inexpensive week day rate, and the hostesses are super sweet... but that's where the good ends.My 1st review was due to a HORRIBLE bartender(see the original)... he's still negligent and doesn't treat ppl equally.I had a room reserved for 15 during happy hour, and I happened to know someone working behind the base. Ordered a drink... I was good about 5 of the ppl I was with would go to the bar from the room to order only to have drinks that were watered down. Initially I though my friends were joking, but when I tried them they were clearly not made in the same quality. I would go out and order once again fine... friend order and their drinks weren't good, my friend asked a passerby who confirmed without being prompted...The business practices of this place are extremely confusing. I truly don't suggest ever drinking her or dealing with the bar staff.... Bouncers are mad cool, hostesses are great... otherwise this place is bottom barrel as far as quality... sorry not sorry

If you're looking for a fun place to celebrate a birthday or any event, consider booking a private karaoke room here! We had 2 hours on Saturday night for a room that comfortably fit about 18 of us. There's a service button inside the room that was answered promptly so we were able to order drinks and water pitchers quickly. We were allowed to bring an outside cake for our friend and they even helped us light it and provided plates and forks. The music selection was relatively up-to-date (except I'm a little bitter they didn't have Cardi B, Pony by Ginuwine, or Only One by Yellowcard) and had a good mix of current popular songs and classics. The selection also seemed to have a lot of music from other languages (Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, etc) but we didn't really explore those. Overall, we had a good experience and would definitely recommend!

Very poor staff. Says no where that you have to be 21 or up. It was my birthday and I called to reserve a room, when I called no one told me you have to be 21+. It also doesn't say online. Me and ten 16 year old girls showed up to our reservation and and the hostess asked for ID. We kindly told her we were under 21 and had no intention of using the bar, we only wanted to do karaoke. Instead of telling us sorry, the hostess yelled at us and never brought a manager out. (Apparently there were no managers there on a Saturday night. weird.) The hostess yelled at 16 year old girls and kicked us out and we were stranded on the streets of chinatown with no where to go. Happy this happened to us though, the karaoke rooms were dirty and small. And the staff was cruel to young teenage girls. Causing a scene in front of all the customers.

First of all, when we arrived at the front desk, no one was there to assist us for about 10 minutes. When we finally into room, the machine wasn't working, so we called for service while looking around for the manager. This took up another 30 minutes. We then got escorted to another room with a dead microphone, which we then had to call for service again and no one picked up. When someone finally came to fix it, we were able to sing about 3 songs until the "time was up". We had another 30 minutes to sing, but we got escorted out. They wasted 95% of our time, and we could've went somewhere else to get our money's worth.

This is a really affordable place to go karaoke with friends! If you get there before 6PM, it's $20 an hour and the hours after are $25 an hour. If you have a good number of friends with you, the price is pretty cheap. The room my friend and I were in was very roomy and clean. There's also a lot of different languages to choose from also. The only confusing thing was going upstairs and not knowing how to get a room if there's no one when you get there.
