A & K Cake Shop

I have been trying to make it to this place for a while and I finally got over here. This black owned business is known for being one of a few places in Houston that sells Teacakes. They also sell cakes by the slice and you can place orders for whole cakes. And if you are last minute, you can always call and see what they have available. I came on a Thursday morning. (Yes random, but you have to do what you have to do because Saturday morning is chaotic). I ordered a box of tea cakes which is 12 for about $16 of the regular. And a package of the lemon tea cakes for about $4. And a slick of 7up cake which was an impulse buy, 7up cake! Oh my gosh! It was still warm from coming out the oven. Listen. I --- yes. That's the answer. just go get one. The tea cakes were consistent and if you need a foundation for tea cakes this is a good place to start.

This use to be one of the best places for tea cakes, but the last couple of times, they had a different taste, not as tasteful. Now, last time, I also got the oatmeal raisin pecan cookies. Those were good. I've heard a few people state that the cakes are a bit dry. I've never had the cakes, so I can't give my review of it.

The cakes here are sooooo delicious. I always have a sweet tooth and this place has never let me down.

It's hard finding a place that sells Tea Cakes but this place makes them just like my grandmother. They are soft, and not too sweet. I can never stop at just one. Thankfully I live four hours or I would be tempted to get them on a weekly basis. The only thing I don't like is the price increase. I use to pay $9.00 a dozen but today when I picked up three dozen, the price came to $42.00. I haven't purchased them in over a year. It will probably be another year before I purchase them again. LOLI have tried a few of their cakes and I have never been disappointed. You can also purchase their mini pecan, sweet potato pies or their cake by the slice. FYI- They are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Saturdays are super busy so try to get their first thing in the morning.

Alright with much delay... First off you would have to be in this particular part of town to partake in the goodies. I stumbled across it in multiple passings to another destination. But of course it caught my eye bc who doesn't like a decent dessert, right???Anyway-ladies n fellas if you want to make a statement with a dessert-this is the throw down for ya. Okay, okay customer service is not five star, but baby the dessert is, legit the price is too...okayO' they take custom orders too. For my big 49 I'm ordering me, myself, and I some bakery LV style you hear me... That'll be my test for A&K you feel me...Alright, thus far everything I have purchased as been legite on taste.Don't get me wrong-I am epic on customer service, and anytime you have teengagers employed rather familia or not I know it's a training process (You were warned by Tabatha L.) okay...

Look if you have been searching for that cake or even the tea cakes your grandma made well this is the place to be. 7-up cake and the variety of tea cakes & cookies are amazing; you just got to go and taste for yourself

The service was great. Everyone is so nice. My daughter's graduation cake was DELICIOUS and HUGE!! I hadn't ordered from here in a long time. I have definitely done myself a disservice lol

A&K has the best cakes. Everything that I've tasted from A&K has tasted very delicious. The service is always impeccable. The staff is friendly and the cakes are always ready for pick up as promised.
