9.19 Island Cuisine

I would have loved to give this place 5 stars, but I simply cannot. Service was amazing, the owner is lovely. Now, the food. Ordered the oxtail, it was quite good. The rice and beans were very undercooked, I couldn't eat them. Usually, I wouldn't mind this but for the price and the fact that they made up most of the dish, I couldn't overlook that. I want to go back and give this place another shot because of how lovely the owner is, but this meal definitely hurt my wallet as half of it was inedible.

The ox tail here is amazing! My husband and I come back over and over for it. No one else in the area can quite get it right like 9.19 island cuisine!

Excellent food and conversation. All of Angela's food is homemade and not commercial. They take pride in representing authentic Jamaican cuisine!!

Jamaican food cooked to perfection! Don't expect it to be "fast food" crap!! It's the finest of delicious food from Jamaica! The people who run it are probably the nicest you will ever come across. Yes, I had to wait, but my order was huge without notice. While waiting they gave me turkey neck that they decided to start selling...OMG! I'm ordering that next time. I had ordered just about everything off the menu...good, wholesome food. We can't get enough! Fresh delicious food that is seasoned and cooked to perfection!! Will not disappoint! You have to try it. They care about serving you

Being from South East Florida, I've had some of the finest Jamaican food on the mainland US. Was truly looking forward to having this again. Ordered the Jerk Chicken, Plantains and Rice with peas. The service was friendly and quick. Inside is just a plain basically, take out food joint. Not much in the way of ambiance. I got home and tore into the bag holding my meal. I was disappointed to say the least. The jerk seasoning tasted more like Sweet and Sour, or bar b Q sauce. The plantains were ok, a bit undercooked. The rice was excellent. Sorry for the diss, but I've had MUCH better........

Whether your a truck driver needing a quick bite or a family looking for Sunday dinner this place is great choice! 10/10 highly recommended. This Place was an amazing experience, the moment me and my wife walked through the door we were greeted with smiles and amazing conversation! the food was absolutely delicious (delicious is an understatement) we had the extra large oxtails dinner and it was great from the taste to the tenderness to the portion size! that plate could have fed 3-4 people! Mrs.Angie is great and I would eat here over and over again Definitely the best in NC this place will not disappoint you. This place made us feel like family now Mrs.Angie (the owner) is our new auntie lol

Always great food, had to wait a while a couple of times but it was worth the wait. It's probably best to order ahead and pick up,

I placed an order online for delivery about 2 hours ago and paid $80. We have called multiple times and they are not answering the phone. No delivery. It's supposedly open until 7:30. We will have to call to dispute the charges to our card. Needless to say we are not happy.

Great food- jerk and curry combo. Loved the cabbage and beef patty too. Owner was friendly. Would go back again.

Jerk Chicken taste authentic, every bite you wish will last forever and you go in for another bite it creates another explosion! Well worth the 40 min drive, and the staff here was respectful and kind. They deserve all the praise for their hospitality.My Gf had the chicken brown stew, my baby act like she was eating for two and didn't come up for air until she saw white. She was kind enough to give me a bite and when I tell you I wish she left something in the car so I scavenge couple more bites for myself. It was magnificent.
