FOODWe ordered their spicy tuna roll, pork belly sumo buns, mushroom sumo tacos, spicy citrus sumo wings, and fries. All of them were tasty and filling, and for happy hour, decently priced. It's a good place to try and to meet up with friends.DRINKSWe had their yuzu paloma and one of their specialty cocktails. Both were good but VERY strong, so if you're looking for something sweeter or something that doesn't pack too strong of a punch, then they might not be for you. SERVICEThe staff are kind and friendly.AMBIANCEIt's a great place to catch up with friends over some finger foods and drinks. Located at the heart of Center City, it's also nearby a variety of other establishments if you want to hop around.PARKINGPaid street parking is available at a limited capacity. Parking garages are also located nearby at a fee.

Avoid this place. The sushi is worst than grocery store sushi and way overpriced. The restaurant itself has a modern feel and the service is good but the food is bad. Save your money and go to the many other establishments around the area.

Visited this spot in Philly for restaurant week. For the price, you get a ton of food. Some of the food I forgot to take pictures of. I got the Spirited Away drink which I highly recommend- tasted very earthy. The big takeaways that I would highly recommend are the snowball roll and the mochi sampler. The sushi rolls here are so yummy! And I'm a huge mochi fan, so that made me extra happy. I think the flavors were vanilla and banana. Service could have been a bit better, but overall enjoyed this spot.

First time at this place after recommendations from a friend. The ambiance is very nice, and the outdoor courtyard seating area is very atmospheric! The service was amazing as our waitress was super attentive and kind. We ordered the pork katsu, the shrimp tempura udon, and the kalikatsu roll because we wanted variety. The udon was delicious and slightly sweet. Would recommend the kaikatsu roll as it had a nice crunch. Would not recommend the pork katsu.

SIPS REVIEWWell I didn't come for SIPS exclusively but I frankly didn't have a choice. They seat you far back in the restaurant but there is a a DJ which is cute. Yet the menu is way limited. Definitely not as inclusive as their happy hour menu BUT it does do it's part.

Never been here and met a friend for Happy Hour (sushi and happy hour? I think yes!). It was affordable, absolutely delicious and so much to pick from. For food, we got (some on the HH menu, some on the regular menu) -- Fried veggie gyoza (great flavor but with the mushy internal texture getting it fried is key) - Bul go gi Sumo Buns (ah-MAZING. Korean BBQ like flavor, this is a must have)- Pompei Combo (salmon volcano roll with salmon sashimi) - amazing, just get it - Sweet heart roll (soy paper wrapped salmon, and avocado; topped with spicy tuna, crunch, spicy Mayo, eel sauce, tobiko) - holy moley melt in your melt. It was fantastic. Can't wait to come back! TIPS- Don't bother with the tacos, they're flour tortillas and not Asian at all; people just like tacos.

My friends randomly invited me out to 1225Raw when i was having a really bad day. When I got there before my friends, I stood outside and didn't really feel up to interacting with anyone. This attitude took a quick 180 once I was approached by the "security manager" (i believe) who noticed i was alone, asked me how I was doing, and offered me a free drink from a promotion they were doing that day. Of course I would never say no to a free drink, so I was led to their super cute outdoor seating area and was instantly surprised at the decor and the fun, energetic vibes of SIPS wednesday. I wasn't planning on eating until I saw their happy hour/sips menu and saw the kimchi fried rice. I had never had kimchee in my fried rice before and i wasn't too excited about the sunny side up egg that i could not get removed, but once i placed it to the side, the dish was AMAZING. The fried rice is a little spicy, but is perfect once paired with soy sauce. The drinks were pretty amazing too. The service staff were pretty busy and hard to get ahold of (as to be expected during SIPS), but they were still pretty friendly. I have actually been back twice since then. The second time, i tried their dumplings which were also really good. I highly recommend!

Yummy Sushi. Pleasant Customer Service. Great Atmosphere. I enjoy the food and vibe here, always a great time with friends in the outdoor seating area. The staff was friendly and helpful to us when we had questions about the menu. The only con is the dessert menu, especially during restaurant week. I was surprised to see fried oreos as an option. I don't think a carnival dessert fits the vibe of a Japanese sushi restaurant. Other than that, I still recommend this place!

I had dinner at 1225 raw on a wednesday evening with my woman to try their center city sips menu. Overall it was quick and casual for a sushi place. The deal is $6 sushi, but you inly get 4 pieces of sushi. That's not a deal... that's just less sushi. General notes:- Loud EDM music playing, probably for the sips vibe but it was a bit much for a sushi place- They bring a serving bottle with the water cups. I love when places do that because I drink a lot of water.- Paper menus, napkins, and cups- Chips and guac on the menu. Interesting and fun.- Sticky table- Water dripped on my woman from an air vent- Good for going out to dinner and leaving hungry- Took forever to get the check. Might as well have begged me to take a star off the rating. If you're in this neighborhood and looking for raw fish i would head down to aki nom nom on walnut instead.

HOW IS THIS NOT FIVE STARS!?!?!? I don't understand. The atmosphere was fun but not claustrophobic. Anthony (perhaps now my favorite bartender ever) was so affable and introduced me to a lychee martini (perhaps not my favorite drink ever). Julia was a friendly and attentive server. The food was delicious. Serving sizes were more than filling. You're gonna spend some money here and you're not going to regret a cent of it!!
