Zzang Hot Dog & Chicken UTC

This is Zzang Hot Dog's second location in SD, and this location is just as great at their Convoy location. The biggest plus about this location is that they offer a lot more food options. For example, they have popcorn chicken bowls, crispy wings, and tteok-bokki. I have not tried these offerings as I am loyal to my mozzarella corn dogs, but I am confident that these items are just as good. Since I've written a review for their Convoy location, I do not have much to say about their food. But as a quick recap, their corn dogs will always be fried fresh to order and delicious. Sugar is a must! If you are not adding sugar, I believe you are doing the korean corn dog experience wrong. There is always seating at this mall food-court, so that is a plus. The parking at UTC mall is annoying, but that is no fault of the business. I do not have much of an impression on the customer service, but I think that is okay - so no complaints! I am going to give this place a 4.5 rounded up to a 5.

Upon arrival I decided to try a Korean dog for the first time. I will say it isn't my cup of tea. The presentation was beautiful. The service was fast and the workers unfortunately didn't speak English but everything was very clean. I had gotten the number 5.... And added cheddar cheese. I would have liked for the hotdog inside to have been larger. There is more breading then anything. Children would definitely enjoy it.

Want to grab a quick snack on the go look no more this place is sure to do the trick. With so many options, different choices, toppings and sauces. This is unless try. I got the Mozza flake one and it did not disappoint. Within 5 minutes my order was ready fast speedy and fresh great service. It's in the la Jolla UTC Shopping Center, Food Court. Can't wait to come back and try out all the other options. Looking forward to trying the one with the potatoes.

I came here for a snack while at the mall. I love Korean cheese dogs, so I thought it would be a perfect snack! Who doesn't love perfectly crunchy and cheesy food on a stick??I ordered the classic mozzarella dog. You typically order at the counter and wait for your turn. When your order is ready, they ask if you want sugar & which sauces you want. I normally get the sugar with their cheese sauce and honey mustard. The wait wasn't too bad as it wasn't crowded when aj went. Service was friendly and quick. I would come here again.

It's fine but not the best Korean corn dog I've had. The dough on the outside is too thick. I got halfway into the corn dog before I felt like I had enough, so I proceeded to rip off the dough and only eat the meat inside. If you're craving a savory snack (which is what led me to this stand in the first place), you're better off going somewhere else, because I regret getting a corn dog here unfortunately :(

UTC foodcourt has vendors coming and going. Not sure how long this has been here but my son wanted to try one of their corndogs. It was after the lunch rush so the food court tables could use some cleaning. I wouldn't have sat to eat lunch, But OK to pop in to get the corndog. The particular item was less than $5. My son gave it an 7 out of 10. Hot and crispy with good flavored sauce. He said he's had better, but not bad for foodcourt snack.

I popped my 'korean corndog" cherry today! I ordered the sweet potato mozzarella dog, sprinkled with just the right amount of sugar! It was good! And the cheese pull was fantastic! 5/5! I also ordered the Tteok-Bokki, which disappointed me. The rice cakes were overcooked, and the sauce lacked flavor. No rating. I'll be back in the future to try the rest of their items on the menu!

Went shopping for a few hours and found this gem when we were starving! Obviously not the healthiest food choice but everywhere else was crowded. They servce korean deep fried corndogs here and there are a variety of options. Food comes out in about 5 minutes.I tried:- Mozarella corn dog (4/5). The cheese to hot dog ratio was too small, there was barely any meat.- Popcorn chicken (5/5). This is probaby one of the best popcorn chicken I had!

UTC Mall has gotten very extravagant, class, expensive, and yuppy the past several years. The eateries are all on the high end, making it very challenging to find something to eat for less than $12-13 for those who only come to visit H&M or the sale sections at The Gap and Macy's. Thankfully Zzang offers some delicious Korean style corn dogs(or should I say rice dogs?), that are hot, crispy, filling, and flavorful, for as low as $2.75! That gets you a basic corn dog, which I believe is rice based rather corn, but nonetheless still crispy, hot, and delicious, and it can be topped with any of Zzang's numerous and flavorful sauces. There also many other choices for less than $5, I recommend getting one with a mix of cheese and sausage!

Don't get the chicken wings here, they say extra crispy but they have zero flavor and the chicken is chewy like with a jello texture. My daughter loves chicken wings and she loves them plain and even she put pepper on it . Try something else here, don't get the chicken.
