I just learned about this restaurant from my friend this past week, Enjoyed dinner here this past Thursday and just had to come back today (Sunday) with my daughter so she can also enjoy the delightful bites.First of all, the music videos on the tvs added to the already lively vibe! The restaurant is very clean and well maintained. The service is outstanding. Both times, the servers were helpful, patient with all my questions. The food... you know when you're starving and everything tastes good? Well, everything was just as delicious as day 1. I appreciate the consistency in quality and taste. We enjoyed bulgogi, kimchi fried rice, dumplings. All were delicious. What really stands out is the kimchi fried rice. All places I've ordered kimchi fried rice at have been a miss. My daughter was skeptical. When she tried it she asked for more. What was also nice was that the server said if she didn't like it he would bring her plain rice. When he asked she said no thank you since the rice was so good. The beef was vey tasty and tender. Loved the cabbage that was cooked with it. The dumplings were also delicious.I can tell this restaurant is going to be on our regular restaurant rotation.Until next time! Our servers were Shawn and Will! Outstanding service provided by both

Saw this place on Instagram and decided to give it a try. At first it was exciting and we were digging the lively atmosphere. We placed our order with our waitress and she came back right away with our bowls of rice and soju. 45 minutes passed by and I also noticed other tables getting their food before us. We rang the bell to ask about our order. Another waitress came and went to check on it.2 minutes later she comes out with our food. This lead me to believe that our original person probably forgot about our order. By the tim our food came our rice was cold. We actually liked the food we ordered too but just wasn't impressed by the service and lack of attention. Maybe we'll try it again sometime but we may try other places first.10% tip to reflect the service that was received.

Warning! Tried to order teriyaki chicken from their website but was charged a different amount when I went to pickup. I complained and they said sorry but the price went up in the 20 min since I ordered my food. Will not give them my business for fraudulent pricing.I had an email confirmation that my meal was to be $14 plus tax. Was charged $15 plus tax in person. I cancelled the order because this is wrong.

Was craving some sushi with a happy hour, glad this was in the area. Here was my experience.AMBIANCE:Parking: Plaza parking, it could get busy during conventional busy times.Seating: Plenty of seating, maybe 50 people. Good for groups and even solo bar seating. Vibes: Welcome to Convoy! There are a lot of eateries. The spot itself is high energy, especially with the KPop music playing. You can socialize, borderline get some work done but moreover it's a loungy place.FOOD:Dragon Roll (Recommend) I was looking something crunchy with some unagi/eel flavor and this was it. Shrimp tempura, crab meat, eel, avocado, and eel sauce all in a lovely roll.Baek Se Ju (Recommend)I enjoyed this wine. It had a great earthy taste and I got a good buzz from it.Earthy wine.Takowasa (A-Ok)It's nice but not much of a fan personally. Raw octopus in "tiger milk" with some wasabi. Fresh but a bit too rubbery on my end. I'd save my stomach for other dishes on their menu.CUSTOMER SERVICE:James was my server. He was a good dude.TL; DR OVERALL:4 Stars. Great! Good selection of food, reasonable prices, and a pleasant experience. I'm open to coming back here, possibly using their rooms for karaoke. Until next time!TIPS:* Check out their happy hour.

Food:The food here is pretty good. I really liked the salmon lover dish, giving it a 4/5. The torrey pines sushi was okay, with lots of toppings, so I'd rate it 3/5. The bossam was tasty and gets a 4/5 from me.ServiceThe service is great. You can call for help with a button, and the staff are always super nice and helpful. Plus, I've never had to wait too long to get seated, which is nice.AmbianceThe ambiance is cool, especially if you like a lively nightlife vibe. The inside has a great atmosphere that makes eating here a lot of fun and a nice place to catch up or hangout with people.

The sushi quality was good here but value and presentation could have been better. The spicy Korean chicken pop was not spicy and too sweet. Service was okay, had to ring the bell to get our water refilled. We also waited a really long time for our food, probably 40+ minutes for our sushi to come out. Ambiance is fun, I would probably come back for drinks and small plates with friends rather than choose it as a regular dinner spot.

I don't normally leave 1 star reviews, but I think it's important to address when a business cares more about money than their customers. I'll preface by saying the food is average for the price. Generally Korean food at later times in the night is overpriced so I understand that, but portions felt very small considering the price at this place. Our whole group had entered an instagram giveaway prior and gave them great exposure on social media, and they hadn't addressed any stipulations in the caption of the post so we planned on using it during this reservation for karaoke. However, the owner didn't allow us to use the giveaway prize because he claimed it was only to be used Sunday-Thursday, even though that wasn't part of the original giveaway caption or rules. We still came for our reservation, ordered food, drinks and gave the place a try. But I just don't agree when an owner clearly doesn't care about their customers. The owner was drunk while we were there and wouldn't even speak with me regarding the giveaway.I recommend taking your business elsewhere like somewhere like Jin because you can at least bring your own drinks and food there.I hope this business learns to put more effort into valuing their customers more.

Got here around 8:30pm on a Sunday night. Not too crowded, but it did by the time we left. The vibe inside was really cool with all of the signed padres gear up and the kpop music playing. I was jamming out the entire time. Food was great. We got the kimchi bacon fried rice, the budae jeongol was a little salty for me. Bulgogi fries were fire and so was the chicken pop. We got the soy flavor for the chicken pop, and it did not disappoint. Really fun and great food. I would definitely come back again, because I really want to try their sushi too!

Wanted to try a new sushi spot in Convoy. Zzan Sushi and Soju feels popular for the younger crowd, and has a busy lounge vibe when you enter. Lights are low and Korean pop music videos are playing on large projector screens around the whole place. I enjoyed the ambience a lot. The menu is huge with a lot to choose from: Korean dishes, sushi rolls, appetizers, rice plates, noodles, and even an omakase special. The prices are bit higher than other dinner places, but there's also happy hour. The two rolls we ordered: salmon lovers and roppongi were deeeelicioussss. Excellent quality fish. We also got the chefs choice nigiri, but tbh didn't enjoy as much as the other rolls. Definitely loved the vibes, would enjoy drinking soju with friends late night here listening to kpop. Parking is horrible though, spent more than 10 minutes trying to circle around a one way lot fighting for a spot.

My friend and I were recommended to this spot by another mutual friend and it did not disappoint!! This is a Korean-Japanese fusion spot. It has KBBQ, soups, sushi (raw, baked, hand rolls, specials, etc), noodles, appetizers, deep fried, etc. This is a great place for groups or even for just 2 people. And there's a little something for everyone. This area is not too busy during early hours of week nights. But this area in particular must get very busy as it gets later and later no matter what because this place opens at 5pm and closes I believe at 2am. And next door there's a place that has billiards. The parking lot seems big but like other places in Convoy, it can and will usually fill up super fast. When you come in, if they are busy you will check in on the tablet and get added to a wait list. I believe it's through Yelp so you may be able to do it on the app as well. Once they seat you, you get menus or you can scan the QR code they have. I can only upload 10 pics, but the missing page I have is the drinks. The person who seats you will let you know where your button for your table is. That button is used to call a server to take food/ drink order, additional orders, refills, and etc. If they're not super busy, they will occasionally check the tables to see if you're ready to order. FOOD: I've come twice in a span of a week. I just wanted to try more of their menu. So far a favorite amongst my friends and I are the corn cheese and salmon lover. We've also had the spicy and the garlic butter edamame as well. I prefer the spicy! The garlic butter was a bit too much for me. But my other friends preferred that over the spicy. We've also tried the bossam and it was good! I saw a recent review that said it was too salty, so I was a bit weary about it. But I decided to give it a try. It smaaaacked! SERVICE: Service is prompt and quick! The staff are very friendly, open to giving recommendations when asked, and checking up to make sure we're doing okay! I'm sure the service may change when they are busy. I just want to note that this place is low lights, so if you prefer bright, airy, and lots of light, don't go. I know some people don't like to sit and eat in the dark, so just a fair warning. It's not pitch black, but there isn't a lot of natural light. Definitely has been added to list of places to return to. I especially am interested in trying their omakase one day. Omakase is a Japanese word and refers to "chef's choice." The chef will make food based on what they are feeling, a theme, and/or based on season.
