Arrived here right before 9pm on a Friday. I was told it was $10 to enter so I called my husband (who was inside) to come give me cash. Once I handed over $20 the door girl kept all of it. I asked why and she said that my husband was going to be charged a "re-entry" fee because he came outside the bar (after being there for a few hours with our friends). We had a group of 20 or so and the manager told everyone they had to pay $10 each to stay in the bar or we'd be kicked out. Everyone had been there since 7pm. We ended up going to another bar and I'm never coming back to zuzu.

The Summary:Atmosphere - 5/5Neighborhood - 4/5Food - 4/5Drinks - 5/5Inclusivity - 5/5Experience - 4/5The Story:Came here for a solo brunch and was delightfully surprised! The restaurant has a great atmosphere, the service was charming, and my omelette/potatoes got the job done. Also enjoyed a boozy smoothie - honestly been thinking about it since I left! Will definitely return - would love to see what they offer for other meals (and to check out the nightclub!!)

I went here with my honey on Valentines Day and it was a bitter cold night. It was cozy inside and they were giving out red roses to all the couples. We ordered the pupu platter and it was the most interesting appetizer. Grape leaves, spinach dumplings, empanadas, kibby, many other yummy things, spicey harisa and whipped garlic- what else is in that? Just garlic. So good. This comes with baked, spiced pitas that we called "Doritopitas" affectionately. I had a nice caipirinha cocktail that reminded me of living in Brazil. I would definitely go back and some day I would like to check out the performances at the Middle East night club that is upstairs or next door- I wasn't sure.

Food was average. Service was comical. Place was empty on a Saturday apart from 2 other diners. Had to ask for cream for my coffee three times. Server walked up and asked how everything was while we were still waiting on food. Food was average. I got the smoked salmon eggs benedit on sweet potato latkes. The sweet potato flavor overwhelmed the rest of the dish. Their homefries though were delish and well seasoned.

We had brunch here with friends recently when looking for a place that could accommodate a fairly large group on a Sunday. The restaurant was nearly empty, suggesting that ZuZu isn't a popular brunch spot, but we had a great experience. The staff were attentive and the brunch menu was great! Unfortunately, I wasn't very hungry, so I only ate a side dish of sweet potato latkes. They were excellent, though - perfectly cooked and a larger portion than expected. My husband had the chicken and waffles and was also very pleased. There was quite a large amount of chicken, and it also was cooked very well. So ZuZu might not be the first place you think of for brunch in Central Square, but if you're tired of the long waits at the usual spots, this is definitely worth a try!

Came on a Sunday morning a few weeks back for brunch. The place was pretty packed. I chose the Kathy Bates benedict b/c I'm a sucker for benedicts. The eggs were perfectly ooey-gooey, and I loved the avocado and fried green tomatoes. Things got messy quickly, but in a good way! It came with a side of home fries that were seasoned with an awesome spice mix--very unique and tasty.Pleasantly surprised and would definitely come back!

This place is AMAZING. My husband & I used to come here all the time when we lived in Central Square 20 years ago. Came back tonight & it is as good as we remembered, but with outdoor seating now!! The ZuZu pupu platter is SO good. The service is awesome. Highly recommend.

This is literally the worst place in the world the bouncers don't even let people of age get into their institution. I was trying to meet my friends here after work for a casual drink and the bartender questioned my ID AND MY INTEGRITY so much to the point where I left. I am appalled, exasperated and disrespected to the max
