Our first notice of Zookz Sandwiches within Sky Harbor International Airport's Terminal 4 Gate A happened 4 days ago as we deplaned and was en route to our connecting flight in Gate B. As we passed by, I stopped to take a look at their menu and was considering ordering a breakfast sandwich since we had arrived just before 8:00 AM. However, I wasn't sure how quick the service would be and I didn't want to miss my connecting flight which was scheduled to depart at 8:23 AM. Unhappily, we raced over to Gate B and boarded our flight. Ah, but I didn't forget about Zookz because I knew we'd get another chance on our return flight through Sky Harbor International Airport. The attraction of Zookz round pocket sandwiches reminded me of sandwiches that my Aunt used to make for my sisters and me during our childhood called Toas-Tites". Also, these round pocket sandwiches are similar to Kaua'i's "Flying Saucers". With those childhood food memories, I just HAD to try a Zookz.During our return through Terminal 4, I made a beeline to Zookz figuring I'd have enough time to order, pay and get a sandwich before boarding our flight. Sure enough, when I stepped up to the counter, a friendly and cheerful worker greeted me. I asked how long an order would take as I only had 15 minutes before boarding. She smiled and calmed me by saying that it'll be no problem to get my order out. FOOD: -#22 Breakfast Sandwich: 2 poached eggs, bacon, ham, cheddar, black beans, avocado, Zookz chipotle sauce. What can I say, this Zookz sandwich was an amazing breakfast treat with perfectly cooked poached eggs with yolks that oozed its golden rich flavors into the crisp bacon, melted cheddar. The black beans and avocado added to the creamier bite texture. Zookz' house made chipotle sauce gave this breakfast sandwich a nice spicy kick without overwhelming the other flavors. The exterior toasted white bread slices tasted like it might have had been brushed with olive oil (wished it had been butter like my Aunt's sandwiches). $7.50 BOTTOM LINE:I got our sandwich in time to board our flight... it was wrapped hot, fresh and ready to go. The counter help gave me an extra disposable paper plate and utensils so I could share this breakfast sandwich with my husband. This scrumptious sandwich was just right to hold our appetites over the 6 hour flight to Honolulu.Great fresh flavors, service with good value sandwiches at Zookz will remain in my food memories as my Aunt's Toas-Tites. Hm... maybe I'll have to plan to return through Sky Harbor International Airport or visit Phoenix, Arizona, again.MenMenMeMM

I was so obsessed with Zookz after having a zook earlier in the week that I made a point to go to their location in Sky Harbor airport when leaving Arizona. Since I didn't eat my zook right away, it wasn't as good as the one I had fresh (no surprise here). However, if you've never had a zook, I'd recommend stopping by here. Their menu is more limited than the brick and mortar, and of course prices are higher ($3 for zooks, around $2 for salads). It took less than 10 minutes for my order to be ready, and this time around, I tried:-No. 20 (Turkey, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Tomatoes, Avocado, Sweet Heat Mustard, $9.95): Good, but not as flavorful as their No. 11 with poached eggs. I liked the cream cheese in here, but it was hard to get a bite with all the ingredients due to the dome shaped nature of the zook. I wouldn't get this zook again.-No.4 (Mixed Greens, Chicken, Bacon, Avocado, Tomatoes, Diced Eggs, Creamy Apple Mustard Dressing, $9.85): I swapped out their Creamy Picante Buttermilk Ranch for the apple mustard dressing, and it was good. I liked this salad more than the kale one, since it was way overdressed and you can't order the dressing on the side for some reason. Recommended!I probably wouldn't come back to this location due to the higher prices, but I will be back at Zookz when in the Phoenix area to try their dessert zooks!

You know you are a Yelper and a frequent traveler when you go to a different section of the airport to try this place! I got here right at opening (6am) on Friday and was the only person there. I ordered #66 and a coffee. There were a few issues making my sandwich so it took about 15 mins. The manager and staff were very apologetic and told me I could grab anything I wanted from their cooler/counter. I ended up grabbing a Red Bull. They explained that some of the supplies were switched this week which caused the sandwich to be overcooked. I thought it was great that instead of handing me a sandwich that was sub-par, they recooked it twice to make sure it was made to their standard. They also offered a refund which I declined. I didn't get a chance to eat it until I sat down on the plane about 20mins later. It was pretty good even though it had cooled down a bit. I will definitely try this place again when I'm traveling.

Good choice for an Airport sandwich. I chose the Black Bean & Avocado sandwich and it tasted fresh and warm as if prepared to order. Plenty of meat choices and for us that do not eat meat their are equal sandwiches, like the Black Bean. Also the potato salad was good and cold. And iced tea available for refill. The price was reasonable for Airport Food and it did not seem as costly as the others that I have tried here when traveling through PHX. Next time I will ask for the food for eating here, not as prepared to go. *Seemed like an over abundance of plastics and packaging for a $11 meal. **And, don't let the happy appearance of the employees fool you, the food is better than their outward display of happiness and responses of Yep's & Nope's.

Yum! I stopped on my way to the airport and I was pleasantly surprised. I placed an order ahead of time on the phone and my order was ready to go when I arrived. There's plenty of parking so that is never an issue at the spot typically. They have a great menu option that has lots of different sandwich options that range from sweet to savory. I wanted to try this place out as I had noticed that their sandwich kind of looked like a hot pocket and I was happy with my choice. I ordered the no 10. Honestly I would describe it is tasting a little bit like Thanksgiving leftovers. It was delicious but I would have liked but not to have as many cranberries in it as it tasted a little bit sweet. However the flavor combination Of this menu option was good and I enjoyed it. The sandwiches are very crispy on the outside which is phenomenal so if you don't like crispy sandwiches I would recommend ordering something else. The sandwiches can be a little bit messy so I do encourage you to be cautious of that. The sandwiches come with a side included which is nice so I had the kale salad. It was refreshing and light which complemented the sandwich greatly.

Mmm delicious breakfast sandwiches! Poached eggs in a breakfast sandwich!? I think yess! Sandwiches are pressed and toasted into a pocket. We walked from terminal D to B not knowing this little gem was going to be across the entire airport. Took us 40 minutes to walk there, get our sandwiches, and return to our gate. Totally worth it! #22- 5 stars, two poached eggs, bacon, ham, avocado, Chipotle sauce, cheddar cheese, and black beans(I subbed for tomatos). Omg sooo good, cheese was melty, avocado creamy, full of meat, and the eggs were just runny enough to be neatly eaten in a sandwich. Well worth the trip!#66 4 stars- also two poached eggs, bacon, cream cheese sauce, green onions, tomatos, and cheddar. Bf had this and unfortunately for him the eggs were over cooked. No satisfaction of runny eggs for him, sorryyy! LoThere's Sriracha on the table, ask for a sauce container if you want to eat your sandwich back at your gate.

TLDR: get #22 breakfast sandwichThere were a lot of breakfast options at PHX airport and I'm really glad I ended up here! The round toasty shape of the sandwiches caught my attention as I've never seen those. The owner talked to us about the sandwiches and recommended the #22 for breakfast, so we got that and #66 to share between two people. The sandwiches come already cut in half which is convenient.#22 comes with two poached eggs, bacon, ham, cheddar cheese, black beans, avocado, zookz Chipotle Sauce.#66 comes with cheddar cheese, two poached eggs, bacon, tomatoes, green onions, and zookz zinger cream cheese sauce.I took a bite of #22 first before #66, and #22 was so flavorful that it kinda overtook the second sandwich. #66 is a good sandwich, but I made sure to finish that half first. It has all the traditional components of a breakfast sandwich topped with a creamy cheese sauce, and the eggs are cooked perfectly. #22 is pretty unique. I think what makes it shine is the sauce. It's a little sweet and maybe has some mustard or horseradish flavor. I don't know what's in there but it goes so well with the rest of the sandwich.I didn't get the dessert one but it looked amazing. Great airport food, not too pricey!

The No. 10 Turkey hit the spot! I thoroughly enjoyed the combination of turkey, apples, cranberries, almonds and special sauce. The cute little round shape made it very convenient to eat, rather devour, right away. The cashier recommended the potato salad and mentioned corn. My first inclination was, yuck. But he promised me it was good. Think of it more of a smooth, ice cream type texture, savory scoop of goodness. It didn't remind me of any potato salad that I'd ever had. It's a unique flavor/texture worth trying out. So, skip the standard sandwiches and give Zookz and shot.

The sandwiches here are super delicious! However, the portions are pretty bad for the price that you are paying. I decided to get one of the breakfast sandwiches because I thought it wouldn't be as dry as the other ones and I was absolutely correct. I don't remember which one I got, but the turkey one that my boyfriend got was super dry (we went to go get ranch and some fries elsewhere to make it a fuller meal). I have to say the wait is kind of long, but since our gate was right there it was a perfect spot to wait and get some food!

Hands down the best place to stop for food in the Phoenix airport. Customer service was over the top! From the greeting all the way to throwing away my trash. Not to mention I was extremely surprised on how great my sandwich(no.20) tasted after being prepared so quickly. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the kale salad as your choice of side. Definitely an unforgettable experience. KING of all sandwiches! Please expand more throughout the U.S.A!! -Vino
