Zazu Sandwiches & Salads

I recently went to Zazu Kitchen and Bakery to get takeout for a weekday lunch. As it was on the early side, the store was empty when I went there. I was able to order and get my food in five minutes. The restaurant has some nice decorations from the Middle East; otherwise it is unassuming.I got the mezze plate, which included pita, hummus, dolmas, cheese rolls, and falafel, with baklava for dessert. While the falafel was only OK, everything else was great-the hummus was flavorful and creamy, the cheese rolls had a good amount of creamy, salty cheese, the pita was warm, and the dolma leaves were well-stuffed and not too salty. The baklava was delicious-the appropriate amount of sweetness, filled with nuts and syrup, and a good filling-to-puff pastry ratio.I would recommend Zazu for your next casual meal!

Looked for a spot as I was working I. The area. Spotted this gem on yelp and decided to give it whirl. Chicken shawarma was the immediate go to option. It was ready quick. The food was delicious. Service was excellent. The Shawarma was quite unique with the added pickle. have never had it served that way before and the pickle brought the flavor up a notch. The garlic sauce is the bomb just keep a mint close by for after your done with this quite tasty sandwich.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to try ZAZU. Was in the mood for falafel last night and this place is right near my go-to Walgreens so my husband went and picked it up! I ordered falafel, hummus, and extra pita, garlic sauce, and tzatziki. They also gave me tahini. Ordered my husband some fries since he isn't a fan of Mediterranean food. The food was ready really fast and tasted amazing! The falafels were huge I def could've gotten the 3 piece, I had leftovers! Very flavorful and perfectly crisp on the outside. The dips were amazing too. Hummus was creamy and fresh, the pita was nice and warm. So so delicious. I will definitely be coming back and I want to try a wrap next time! Definitely recommend.

First, I will start by saying the last time I left a review on Yelp was probably at least 8 years ago. Zazu changed that! My family and I ordered the family meal, falafel, and Greek fries. My 8 and 4 year old ate every bite and asked for seconds. EVERYTHING was so delicious! We ordered and picked up and the service was quick, friendly and the place is small but clean and inviting. The food was warm and fresh and they made sure to separate the food into different containers and bags so hot food was not together with the cold food. I cannot wait to try more of the menu and especially the bakery.

First time here, needed to feed the grown off-spring, brought one in tow. Place has great reviews and it is well deserved. Not a huge menu, but we had a good selection including two orders of chicken shawarma fries with garlic sauce, large Greek Salad, a gyro pita, large humus with pita bread.The gyro was huge and the chicken shawarma fries were a big hit. It was all very tasty. We took our order to go. There is plenty of seating, place is clean with simple decor. Service was very good.There were a few brownies and walnut baklava in the bakery case. Their web page has beautiful cakes, I assume those are special order. The baklava was very tempting. Happy to see another family owned business in the neighborhood. Located on the southeast corner of Union Hills & Cave Creek Road in the Albertson Shopping Center. Will be back again for sure!

Was craving some baklava and googled baklava near me and came across this gem! I ended up with 3 orders of baklava and 2 gyros for the husband and I. WOW! We were not disappointed!! Gyros were soft, tender and flavorful!!!! And the baklava ... I wish I had bought them all! Soooo perfect and delicious!!!! Plus very well priced!!all with incredible, fast and friendly service!

There's a reason they have such great reviews! And I'm here to add to the hype! Randomly came here with my family to grab lunch before doing some shopping nearby. First, the restaurant itself is very clean and presentable! They even have a cute, colorful wall if you want to take pics! The staff were quiet but still nice. We ordered a gyro plate, chicken shawarma salad and hummus. We eat A LOT of Greek because it's one of my husband's favorites. In comparison to many places we've tried around Phoenix, we both thought this was top tier! My husband commented that the hummus was exactly how he liked it and everything had great flavor! We'd happily come back here again & again!

I was craving good food, and Zazu's delivered beyond expectations. The gyro meat is tender and seasoned to perfection! The price is reasonable and the service is exceptional. Gyros were a staple in my native city of Milwaukee, and this truly reminds me of home. I tried the chicken shawarma also, but found the dish a bit disappointing. The gyros though, they've been put into my weekly budget!

Best Greek Spot in Phoenix! Ordered a Gyro that was packed with meat, yummy chicken bowl, fresh greek salad, and the crispiest seasoned fries, perfection! Place is a hidden gem! Cannot wait to go back!

A hidden gem, seriously. Get the chicken shawarma it's sooooo good. I think it's the sauces they use but even the salad dressing is delicious. My whole family loves their food. Can't wait to return.
