We drove 10 mins to explore this bakery in Ravenna. I was quite impressed by the selection of pastries displayed and had a hard choice deciding what to get. Everything looked delectable. However, both our pastries goats cheese spinach croissant and chocolate almond croissant were dense and felt stale. The place was very crowded and there wasn't an empty table to sit. Overall service and ambience was great, but the food was disappointing even though it looked amazing.

This place stands out with its unique selection of pasteries and drinks. One of the more popular picks is the raspberry top tart which is basically a better, homemade poptart. Their special drinks are from the "spring menu" that seems to go on year-round. The flora forager is FANTASTIC and very unique to this cafe - tastes like a rose coffee with hidden flavors (yes, its a coffee).I would classify this as a neighborhood bakery. As such, you see mostly people stopping by after a walk, a casual get-together, after picking up kids from school/daycare. Very rarely do you see people working here or coming in alone unless it's a pickup.Street parking is always available in the premise. Pasteries are discounted after 2pm.

As a former Ravenna resident, I have seen this place morph from Morningstar Bakery, Leah's Bakery & Cafe, Sod House Bakery, and now the newish Zary Bakery. My first visit was on 10/2/23 where I got a box containing a pain au chocolat, strawberry cream croissant, scone, and a raspberry pseudo pop-tart.My second visit was on 10/28/23 where I bought a chocolate hazelnut tart and another raspberry pseudo pop-tart. My overall sentiment is positive. I love the beautifully arranged variety of baked goods in the pastry case. Great price for the generous sized items. Looks good, but tastes even better. Clearly there's baking with love going on. First visit, Zary Bakery was still brand new and with ample room to consider one's purchase. Second visit, clearly the bakeshop/cafe has been discovered with the line of folks. Wishing them much success! Worthy detour when in Seattle's Ravenna neighborhood.

They were a bit short staffed it seemed so everything took a bit longer (ordering, restocking of things, etc). I wouldn't put it against them, they were super busy. The savory croissant was the best! Very flavorful, nice and flaky. The 2 sweet croissants were too dense in our opinion. Doesn't have the fluff you expect of a croissant. Street parking was easy, coffee was tasty.

I went to Zary after the newness had dissipated but before the whole world knows about it. It's a cute space to sit and have a coffee and a pastry, yes, you must get a pastry. In a not too busy neighborhood, there is street parking and alot of foot traffic. The pastries are appealing as they are arranged in a case at the counter. The selections can vary depending on when you go, and people are steadily coming. While I sat there they went from 4 strawberry and cream croissants to zero in 5 minutes. Yes, I was one of the 5, and it is definitely a go to for me. We also took home a piece of carrot cake that was divine. I don't use the word divine much, but that piece of cake was divine. The service was friendly, and welcoming.

Utterly delicious. We had the chicken salad croissant and probably the best tomato soup ever. To finish, we had a fruit covered, cream filled pastry. My new favorite coffeehouse and bakery

people working here have very bad attitude! because my English is not good enough. He is very impatient. Then I want to pay cash. They reject. They said they don't have change. However, I didn't see any notice shows that card only. I guess just because I have Asian face so they believe I use fake money:p The two people working there are both white people. I feel very serious racial discrimination from their faces!

Such an improvement over the predecessor! Sodhouse owners were super unpleasant and that really affected the experience. Zary pastries are disturbingly good. Coffee service is good, staff are friendly and helpful!

Zary Bakery is a cute bakery in the Roosevelt/Ravenna neighborhood of Seattle. With pastries, drinks, and desserts, both savory and sweet, you're likely to find something to snack on here. I ordered the mango Cruffin (croissant muffin), a cinnamon roll, and a danish. They were flaky and the custard/cream filling in the Cruffin had a sweet, yet not overpowering, flavor. It has indoor and outdoor seating but no AC, yet the ovens are blasting, so it gets quite hot inside the bakery. They keep the windows open but it did not help much. Service was extremely slow and the barista/staff looked like she hated being there. I was left waiting when she took off without warning (not sure if on break or off shift) even though she had served all the customers before me and another staff member came out minutes later with earbuds in and hardly acknowledged me.

Some pastries were good. Croissants leave a lot to be desired. I don't understand why French bakeries charge €1 for a croissant but here it's $4.
