Zaika is the perfect place if you're looking for an upscale Indian restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing and beautifully presented, and the atmosphere is relaxed and great for dinner with a friend or group. We made a reservation for 5 PM on a weekday, and we were under the impression that they still did happy hour. We found that this was not the case when we arrived, although the happy hour menu was still posted outside. This was a bit disappointing , but we were happy to pivot to the normal menu. We got chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. We also both ordered chai, which was probably my favorite menu item. It was the perfect amount of sweetness and creaminess. The food items were plenty full. Between the two of us, we had an amount of leftovers that made for a lunch I really looked forward to eating the next day.

The service was slow. The food quality and taste doesn't meet the price charged. There's a blanket 18% charge for service - which I think is too high given the cleanliness and service.

The service was amazing and all the dishes we ordered were delicious. They had more than enough options for our vegetarian friends as well. Highly recommend the butter chicken and the kale appetizer

Food: Absolutely fabulous! It's Indian food with some adjustments. Yet to have any dish that I didn't enjoy in my 7 odd trips to this restaurant. Their new brunch menu is fab. Simple items like anda bhurji has an amazing taste, reminding of India. They also have interesting kale bhaji, jackfruit kulfi and such items. Their goat entree is my fav. Drinks: Good cocktails. Chai /cardomom old fashioned is my fav. Decently strong too. They have bira beer too , though it's not cheap at $11. They have a full bar. Service: the staff has been stellar so far. Can be slow, so patience is required. I suggest to order all at once.Price: $$ or sometimes $$$ you get what you pay for. Expect $30/person + tax + tip for food +1 drink . Drinks are in $15 range . To reduce costs, I recommend going in a group of 4-6 folks and share entrees + appetizer so you can taste variety while still staying in this price range. You can pay via phone, at the table itself. They charge 18% tip to everyone to ensure the service quality , so keep that in mind.Great location in cap hill, right next to rumba. Parking can be hard to find around, though there is a paid parking lot right across the restaurant. Overall, zaika gets 5 star from me for their quality, taste of food and service! Definitely worth trying it out.

A really great spot for Indian food! Especially for their happy hour deals. I came right before the end of happy hour on a Wednesday, and there weren't many people inside. So, we were able to get seated immediately. We got the chili chicken to share, and I got the aloo tiki burger as my main. The chili chicken was AMAZING. Super spicy, but the flavor was absolutely amazing. I would definitely get it again. The aloo tiki burger was also delicious - two patties perfectly fried, with a delicious bun and sauce. The peri peri fries were also fantastic - well seasoned and crispy. Service was friendly as well, and relatively efficient. I would recommend this spot for sure, and will hopefully be back again soon.

My friend and I went to Zaika for dinner and we really enjoyed our time there! The staff is super friendly, so we really appreciated that and the ambiance was really clean too! For drinks we ordered the jeera masala mocktail - 11/10 - it was sooo flavorful and unique. It kind of tastes like the pani puri liquid but with more bursts of flavor! I really recommend this drink! For dinner we ordered lamb pepper fry, butter chicken, and garlic naan - which all hit the spot as well! (The butter chicken was our favorite). Overall we had a great time and we would come back again, but I will say the food is a little expensive and the online menu was a little hard to navigate, but it was a great place to catch up with my friend!

Nice Indian restaurant/ bar with good food. Went on a Friday afternoon during happy hour. The only bad thing I would say is that happy hour is only one hour, so not a lot of time to enjoy it to its fullest. We started with the cottage on the pond which was really good. I would recommend this as an appetizer to start with.To eat, I had the large plate: lamb pepper which I highly recommend. The portions for a large plate a very big so this can honestly be shared between 2 maybe three people. For a large entree it's only the meat that you're paying for and so if you want any sides it's an extra cost.Other than that the meat was really good and well cooked with lots of flavor.I did get the garlic nan which was a nice addition to it, but not enough for all the meat.

My favorite Indian restaurant in Capitol Hill! I always get the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan, it never disappoints. So so creamy, spicy, perfect balance of sweet and salty and delicious. Chicken was still soft and not overcooked. The naan is so soft, it pairs wonderfully. Definitely get this combo! I also got the malai chicken, it's so creamy and soft, it melts in your mouth! The sauce is pairs with is divine too. I did order to-go so I couldn't comment on the ambiance but the hostess was so friendly and kind upon pickup at the entrance. Definitely a bit expensive, I can't afford to eat here all the time but it's something to treat yourself to.

I really wanted to try Indian food at a new restaurant that could deliver. I read the online reviews for Zaika and they were mostly positive. I know the photo doesn't give this food any justice.. but let that alone be enough to tell you, the food was THAT good, I couldn't be bothered to spend time taking a decent photo!! Whether at home or at family gatherings, tandoori chicken has always been on the menu, I've never been a fan. We got the tandoori chicken free if we spent $50 and WOW! So flavorful and perfectly charred! I ordered butter chicken (3*), garlic naan, peri fries and a chicken burger. So good, we will be ordering again tonight! Kudos, Zaika.. kudos!

I haven't eaten inside this place before, just delivery or take-out. What I gotta say is that they are the only restaurant I've ordered from so far on uber eats / Postmates that honored my request for low sodium. I think that restaurants use way too much salt in their food. I don't blame them. It makes the food taste better. But it's unhealthy. Anyway, last time I ordered I requested low sodium, not only in the dishes, but the rice as well, if possible. I was pleasantly surprised when I got the order that not only were my chicken and vegetarian dishes low on added salt, but so was the rice! True, it wasn't as tasty, but I'll take that as it is overall healthier.
