Yeah!!! They don't make 'em like this anymore!!! True old school vibe with pics of old Hollywood stars on all the walls. DiMaggio and Monroe, Sinatra and Martin, Audrey Hepburn ... nice, quiet, authentic and romantic if that's what you are looking for. A few tables outside under a light filled pergola if that feeds your soul!! Great service,,although come earlier in evening as kitchen closes at 9 pm on weekdays, ended up feeling kinda rushed, but food was great and atmosphere is inviting to stay a while.Anyway, if you are in NW Chicago area and looking for nice spot to enjoy some food Italian food in casual on old school atmosphere, this is it. Sampled the classic sausage and peppers app, and the filet with creamy risotto. Not best I've ever had (the filet was just a bit undercooked for MR) but good enough to come back for the atmosphere and try something else on the extensive menu. Wine list just okay .. could use plenty more Italian reds and whites by the glass honestly. Started with a Valipolicella glass, then went with 2017 Uggiani Brunello bottle that was nice. I'd have way more Brunello and Barbaresco and Barolo labels on the menu and a few Chianti Riverva's if this was my place. But all-in-all , a solid evening.

I have been here on a few occasions with my wife and another couple and it was a good place. However, the four of us went there in April and...It. Was. Terrible. So let's kick off with the restaurant itself. It's a nice place located in a cute little strip mall not too far from Good Shepherd Hospital. It's dark wood decor and light colored walls makes one feel comfortable with family, friends, or on a date. It's great for all types of occasions... if only the food was still good. There is a nice menu with a ton of options and they also offer daily specials. And with so many options, we were amazed at how they royally screwed up all the options we ordered. And we didn't just order the same thing. There were salads, pasta, chicken, and fish. And all of them were messed up. They were even messing up the bread on the table. Um, can we have some oil and cheese for the bread? Sure. 10 minutes later: here's the cheese for the bread. Great, how about the oil. Oh, you want oil? Um, yes, we did ask for that. It's quite normal at an Italian restaurant. Sure, we'll get that. 10 minutes later: here's the cheese you wanted for your bread. Um, thanks, what about the oil. Oh, you'd like oil too? I finally get up and walk to the server area and grab the oil. WTF?!The minestrone soup arrives. It's tepid, but I'm not sending it back because I'll never see it again. The side caesar arrives at the same time as my lasagna. So, looks like the salad will be after the main as the main would get cold. The lasagna was already cold in the middle. So we sent them back (two of us ordered it). Great! Time to eat our salads. The lasagna comes and the plates are hotter than the sun and the lasagnas have melted into the plates. Can we say "microwaved". The lasagnas were now mush. WTF?! Another person in our group got the eggplant parmesan. She said it was terrible. Just so I could get an idea about what makes a bad eggplant parm, she said it was mushy. My spouse got the Rustic Caesar which was missing ingredients. It's basically an enhanced caeser salad. How do you mess that up? Easily I guess. We sent it back and the server said, "oh, you should have said that you wanted the "rustic" caesar salad. We ask to se her notepad. Clear as day, it says "Rustic" caesar salad. She just din't read her own notes. She also got the soup of the day. Don't know what it was, but I know it wasn't that good either. We left hungry and really unsatisfied. When we complained about everything (which we rarely do unless things are super bad), the server decided to never come back to our table. We asked to see a manager (something we also never ever do) and the manager avoided us too and we weren't yelling or anything, but that's how they handled the situation for us and so...We're never going back. There are plenty of good to great Italian places in the surrounding suburbs, so we'll scratch this off our list and visit those instead.

This place is a Lake Barrington staple. Often you will see the +55 crowd here due to its close proximity to LBS retirement community. The Italian food is very good here! Caesar Salad and bread are delicious. The crème brûlée for dessert was top notch! The decor very romantic, inviting and warm. The bar is great if you like to talk to the staff while you enjoy your meal. The whole place has pictures of the Rat Pack and other famous faces which is always fun to look at.

We have always had delicious food and great service at Za Za's. They also catered two of my sons' rehearsal dinners. Both were excellent. We love the ambiance.

This Lake Barrington staple is an authentic family owned Italian restaurant. The solid family foundation of the owners transcends to a magnificent dining experience!!!! Grace is my favorite waitress. Always friendly, always smiling, on top of it.....a complete professional. Try the shrimp crab cake appetizer. Very unique and delicious. I highly recommend the black ink squid pasta with shrimp, crab, (I substitute the calamari with scallops).......this dish is amazing!! I eat it once a week!! Highly recommend it!! If you havent been to ZaZas and you are contemplating going.....make sure you do.......you will love it!

First time here and not the last. We were told they do a good job with their seafood - and that was an understatement. Our meals were excellent. We loved the atmosphere and the prompt, but not rushed, service.
