I'd been craving pineapple buns for a while so I came here and purchased one, along with a couple egg tarts. I ended up not being a huge fan of the pineapple buns -- the topping was a little too sweet, which overwhelmed the taste of the bread, and the bread was a tad dry -- but the egg tarts would delicious!

I got a slice of chestnut cake as well as a pork bun and taro bun. The bread for the buns were quite dry and were skimpy on filling. The cake slice was good but could use more chestnut flavor. Ok if you have a craving but might opt for another option next time.

Behind its boarded windows and doors, you'll find the gem that is Yummy House Bakery. This bakery has saved me more times than I can count, I am truly grateful to have stumbled upon it.I ordered a 6" durian cake around 11:35AM on a Friday and the cake was available for pickup within a little less than an hour. Not many bakeries have quick turnaround times when placing an order the same day.The cake itself is delicious-- light, fresh, and spongy. You also have the option to customize toppings and decorations + it comes w/ a free candle. You can tell they put a lot thought and effort into their craftsmanship w/ the amount of questions they ask prior. Honestly the only bakery I can trust to be consistent and precise. Will be coming back soon :-)

Been over a year since I went into Yummy House Bakery in Seattle's Chinatown. Do not be fooled by appearances. Bakery looked like it had seen better days. It was all boarded up so it look like it was closed. Hopefully, by now, the storefront has been all fixed up.Walked in and bought me some Egg Tarts. They had other goodies and treats, but I was only craving egg tarts. Yummy House makes some really good ones. Taste did not disappoint! Affordably priced too!Happy to say that they lived up to their name! Yummy egg tarts from Yummy House Bakery!!

Yummy House has been my go-to place so far when buying a birthday cake! This past time, I ordered a durian 6" birthday cake with white cake and white frosting for my best friend, which was around $37. It was about $15 more than a plain white cake because of the added durian.I had to order and pick up the same day to make it in time for my friend's birthday. I wasn't sure if they were able to make one that quick and was a bit worried. However, they said they could do it, and I was so thankful. Upon picking up the cake, I was so happy with how it came out, as it was so cute! They included one long candle, and we decided to add more of our own. My friend loved it! The cake itself was so fluffy and light, not too sweet. The durian was smooth and plentiful in the cake, just how we like it. I would love to come back and try their other pastries and desserts sometime soon!

I was looking for a quick and easy place to pick up some pastries before heading to a friend's house and stopped in to grab a few things. From the outside, it looks as if they are closed because the windows are boarded up, but they had the door open and an open light on, so I headed in. They had good selection still on a Sunday afternoon, so I grabbed 6 breads and 3 egg tarts are only around $20! They have great prices, similar to pricing pre-COVID, so I will definitely be back! They also had a lot of great cake options, so keeping that in mind for the next time I need to pick one up. Highly recommend if you're looking for a simple, quick option that is both affordable and yummy, and gives an opportunity to support a great small business in the ID!

Cash only. We were excited to try their curry puff, but it didn't taste too fresh unfortunately and for $4 I wished for more. Pros:- Small business- Fast, ready for takeout - Flavor of the curry was good, it was more like true yellow Indian curry as opposed to east Asian curries, which are sweeterCons:- Could have been more fresh. No warming in the display case or option to warm in store (I'd recommend reheating at home with a toaster oven to revive its crisp)- Lots of pastry layers could have been balanced with more filling; the ratio was offMaybe next time we'll try their sweet fruit cakes or pastries instead. The savory ones were a miss for us, though.

Hella good bolobao. We came here twice when we only had 2 days in the city. Bao was soft and you could almost taste the stretchiness that comes from the roux Chinese people use to make the bao. The cookie part of it also didn't crumble into nothingness and separated from the bao well. 9/10. Great place for bolobao

Was looking for some pastries stuffed with sweet black beans. So I went to several bakeries chops and dim sum restaurants to no avail. Then we were driving on 6th Ave and I remembered yummy house bakery. Finally able to scored their last 2 black bean breads, and one stuffed with taro ( first time trying this). My other half was delighted since he can't have dairy products anymore The buns were tasty! And I am sure we will return for more. Service was quick and courteous.

Classic hong kong pastry shopThey have whole cakes and cake slices ready for purchase day of, but I've also ordered customized cakes from them. The value for what you get is great, especially their breads. For more money you can get similar items from 85 degrees or tous les jours, but they're way smaller than the ones here.I thought the breads were soft and fluffy, the crunchy top on both were good too.The cake is a standard asian cake, not too sweet and light. Excited to come back and try their other items!
