Yummy 8 Lunchbox & Catering

Our apartment offered free lunch from this food truck so I can't complain too much but the food was bad. I would've been very upset if I had paid for it.Positives: it was ready quickly even while they were busy. The seaweed salad was good. Same as you would buy in a grocery store but no complaints there. Negatives: the food was lukewarm. It all tasted like it was bought at the frozen food section and was served cafeteria style. The Katsu and orange chicken were the most edible, but I wouldn't call them good. We did not finish either the pork or teriyaki. The marinated pork and sauce was mealy and grainy. I've never had teriyaki chicken that was more bland. It literally takes like boiled chicken.Overall, absolutely would not recommend. Genuinely feel gross after eating some of this food. If offered this again, even for free, I don't think I would eat it.

Stood here for 30 min waiting on my food with about 15 other very (very) upset people. While the food was tasty, it over salted my experience with the food truck. The owner reached out to me with an heartfelt apology. I'll give this place a shot again next week, and update my review. For the time being, I feel if you see people waiting outside of the truck. Ask the servers how long the wait is.

Easily in the running for 1 of the worse places I've ever eaten. I normally check Yelp before I search for food, but I let my eyes and stomach do the talking and ordered what looked in the photo to be decent chicken curry. What I got was what looked like a TV dinner, cheap overcooked chicken (only thing that resembled actual food), dry brown rice, and sweet corn that I thought would be warm, no it tasted like they pulled it out of the fridge and scooped some out of a bin, just want I wanted cold corn with my hot meal gross, and then a tiny generic spring roll the size of a tootsie roll.Oh and the best part, I ordered a 2 dollar drink, which was a can of coke...not even cold, Luke warm like they just pulled it out the case they bought from costco.I dont recommend this place to anybody, how they're in business still is beyond me, I'll stick to checking Yelp before I try new places. I made a huge mistake today

I ordered curry chicken Katsu for my lunch, chicken Katsu tasted very good not too dry and crisp,included two sides, pic looks like a little bit small but actually very enough for lunch,I will come back!

We had yummy 8 to cater our business lunch today. They arrived on time and served food appropriately, personally I like their Teriyaki chicken. Still warm even 2hours after they cooked. Spring roll warped by tinfoil. They print out the Menu come with the box , and provide all the sauces and utensils we need.

I ordered chicken Katsu today, Chicken was tender and juicy, which is comparable to the Japanese Restaurant. Waiting time is about 6mins, which is quick. I'm glad I chose kimchi come with the box, a Little too spicy to me, still like it. Recommend it

Really disappointed with this food truck. I was craving a rice dish. So I got the teriyaki chicken and chasu with white rice and spring rolls. The rice was very undercooked which kills the whole meal for me. Chicken teriyaki was fine but the sauce is a bit over salted in my opinion and comprised of bits of chicken instead strips like most places. The chasu was not what I expected but it was ok and a little over salted as well.

For a mobile kitchen Yummy 8 Asian Kitchen does a great job of tasting like a full fledged sit down restaurant. My wife and I got the chicken Katsu and we were both pleased with how it tasted and the quality of the ingredients that went into it. We caught them on a random event down in Olympia but I can assure you when I'm at work in Seattle I'll be on the lookout for their downtown location.

This place isn't it. I have had a lot of food trucks in my neighborhood and it was on my bucket list to try one out. I saw the food was $10 not including tax so like $12 something but I was hungry enough to not want to drive 10 minutes to get a bento box for only $8. So expensive food, and no options to change the rice to fried rice or noodles. Yeah that was an L for me. I waited about 5-8 minutes for my food. When it came out it was HOT. Smelt good too. Customer service was nice. I opened my food and had a bite of the chicken katsu. The texture reminded me of chicken nuggets from my freezer. It felt soggy to me. But the sauce was good and so was the breading. Next thing was the egg rolls. Those were standard. Lastly I had the rice. It was dry. Most of it felt stale. I am not sure if they did not add enough water when making the rice or if they just left it out? I saw the rice cooker?? Typically I am used to soft rice. I will never buy from a food truck again without reading the Yelp reviews.

This truck made a special trip to my neighborhood, so I made a special trip to feed my family. The deal was 2 proteins, rice and a side for $10.99. So I ordered 2 meals - orange chicken/chicken katsu/spring roll and orange chicken/pork chashu/spring roll and walked it home. The person running the window said it would be a ten minute wait, which is fine, considering the truck came to me. Everything was delicious. The spring rolls didn't need a sauce - they had plenty of flavor on their own. The katsu was amazing - usually the katsu I get at the copious teriyaki places in the area is overcooked and rubbery. This was perfect and had a different but delicious sauce. The orange chicken was fresh and fluffy, and the rice was perfect. I would absolutely seek out this food truck again (I am surprised at the amount of poor reviews) and if it comes back to my neighborhood, I will make sure to return!
