Date of Visit: 8/10/2024Youngblood is another secret bar opened by the CH Projects San Diego. Some of the other famous hidden bars are Raised by Wolves, False Idol, and Noble Experiment, etc. Youngblood was opened in the year 2021 and was awarded with the 50 best bars in 2023.Youngblood is reservation only, and was hidden within the beer bar Neighborhood. Need to enter via the same entrance, and at the registration counter, we were led through the refrigerator door into the petite 16 seat bar. Youngblood has all the design details that resemble the Great Gatsby. The brass chandelier, velvet bar stools and two caryatid sculptures behind the bar were very eye-catching.Bartenders will talk to every guest in order to make the perfect cocktails that are customized to suit all different preferences. Youngblood offers a welcome glass of bubbly with three different cocktails, from appetizer to main course to dessert. The total price is $67 per person.I got a Raspberry Gin cocktail with floral notes, and my husband got the passion fruit rum. For our main course, my husband got the old fashioned and I got the strawberry pisco. And for dessert, the bartender asked us for our favorite dessert, husband said the boba milk tea, but they don't have tea or boba, so my husband's second favorite dessert is the creme brule, and they can imitate a similar taste! I got the tiramisu style of the dessert cocktail. Both were very good!

Wow. I wasn't expecting much, but what a unique experience. It's a small, intimate place in the back of Neighborhood, definitely make reservations in advance. We were seated at the bar, which wasn't the most ideal having people behind us staring at our backs but you forget about it after a bit. Our bartender was Alexandra, who was so knowledgeable about drinks and got so creative when we told her our preferences. My partner said he loved mango lassis, so for his appetizer drink she basically made a mango lassi cocktail but it somehow tasted even better than a normal one. I told her I liked POG juice and, while they didn't have POG on hand, they did have passion orange so she made me a PO cocktail, lol! For our main drinks, I said I wasn't a huge fan of manhattans, old fashioned-type drinks but loved pimms cups, so she made her own renditions of that and added ginger which was delicious. For dessert, my partner said he loved apple cider donuts and I said I loved pineapple coconut ice cream and that was basically what we got! She also gave us lots of history on tiki drinks, stories from growing up in the Midwest, and tips for San Diego! It was such an awesome experience, I would highly recommend it for anyone visiting.

So this is a speakeasy located inside the restaurant called The Neighborhood . When you get inside, you walk to where the restrooms are located at and to your right side you're gonna see kegs of beer. It's actually a door that opens up to a hostess . She is the one welcoming the people to either Youngblood which is on your right side or the noble experiment which is on the left side which is also another speakeasy in the same location..When we talked to the hostess, I asked if there was any opening for either of the two speakeasies . I know Youngblood was two weeks out for a reservation, but we got lucky there was a cancellation that night. We had to wait an hour so we went outside to the restaurant to have a drink while we waited. The way it works with Youngblood you pay I believe it was $65 a person and the bartender pics three drinks for you. We had such an amazing time. It was such a unique experience. Zack was our mixologist that night he was amazing. He asked us questions and made us some yummy drinks according to our likes. All three drink drinks did not disappoint. The first drink was a refreshing one the second drink was a more liquor forward drink, and to end the night the third one was a dessert drink. He literally asked us what our favorite dessert was and made our drink based on that . It was delicious!Overall, I'm so glad we did this. It was a unique and fun experience for us . We had such a great time. Zack was amazing and the drinks were on point for us . The drinks were top shelf craft drinks. I loved watching how they mix the drinks is like watching art . I highly recommend this location and the experience was amazing.. also when you're done make sure to have some food at The Neighborhood restaurant it's delicious.

Been here twice now. If you are thinking about coming, don't waste anymore time. Just go. Make sure you book way in advance because it does get booked up. Ambiance: I love speakeasies and this one is located in the back of The Neighborhood. You are greeted by a host in a dimly lit hallway. When you walk in you are greeted by floor to ceiling shelves full of every alcohol you could imagine. The music is top notch and one of my boyfriend's favorite things about this spot. The seating is comfortable with a few tables and some stools at the bar. There is fun decor if you look closely enough at the walls and floor... We truly wish we had a place like this near us because this would be added to our monthly date night. Drinks: The drinks are a 3 course delicacy! The bartenders talk to you and get to know your tastes, likes and dislikes. Every drink we have had made for us has been some of the best cocktails we've ever had. Hands down, my favorite dessert cocktail was made here. The mixologists are true artists and take pride in their creations. They will come sit down with you and explain what is in your drink. Liquors from overseas and others you may have never tried or even heard of. My all time favorite drink was a Mango Sticky Rice dessert cocktail and, oh my gosh. I was absolutely FLOORED by how delicious it was!Service: Top tier. You are greeted immediately by the host. The mixologists are so friendly and genuine. They are enthusiastic about their creations and who doesn't love someone who is passionate? The best part is...I feel like it is very fairly priced for what you get! Our 2nd trip here we brought 2 groups of 4 friends and every single person loved this place. My boyfriend and I come to San Diego just to experience this place. We can not wait to come back.

I had the best experience here! I was lucky enough to get a late reservation (10:45pm) on a Thursday night. You def need to book reservations early! There's no food, so eat before. You get an appetizer drink (your refreshing drink, more tropical), entree drink (the stronger one, think liquaaaaaa), and a dessert drink (mine was a crème brûlée/espresso martini). All of my drinks were so good, but the dessert one was def the best drink I've ever had. Our server was so friendly. I love the vibes in this place and def recommend. Pricing averages $20-$22 a drink is what it equates to, but it's one set price per person.

I probably checked out 5+ speakeasies during my trip to San Diego, but Young Blood was by far my favorite. I walked into a beautiful, dark gothic romantic-inspired space to a reserved table where the staff had written a birthday card and prepared complimentary champagne for us. Our bartender was so kind and attentive, taking his time to discuss notes and spirits of interest for our customized three course cocktail tasting (which is something I didn't get at other speakeasies). The drinks reflected his meticulous attention to detail, and the last dessert cocktail tasted EXACTLY like my favorite salt and straw honey lavender ice cream. Would HIGHLY recommend making a reservation here as they tend to not take walk-ins, and definitely check them out if you're in the downtown SD area!

I was so excited to try Young Blood after hearing great things from friends. The host was very friendly and led our group through the restaurant to the secret door behind the keg barrels. The ambiance of the room itself was giving elegance, old time money, like I had walked into a scene in Great Gatsby. The experience included 3 custom drinks. The first was light and citrusy, the second was spirit forward, and the third was a sweeter dessert drink. The bartender was so knowledgeable and described each drink in detail while coming up with the most delightful creations!! This spot is perfect for date night.

Finally made it here to see what the hype was about. As a long time noble experiment loyalist this was high on the list. To cut to the chase, Noble Experiment is still my favorite as it combines great drinks with a dark and vibey ambiance. Young Blood is a small location: Room is pretty lit for a speakeasy bar which I was surprised by. Most of the seats are back less and since you are required to have 3 drinks minimum you're there for a while so can be hard on the back. They also take their time making drinks. We were there for 2-2.5 hours on a Monday night. Drinks were innovative and tasty.
