Had the chance to have breakfast at Yolk Oak Park today. There was another business at this location last time I was in the area but I decided to dine in anyway. I was seated in a spacious booth with a menu and water was brought immediately.Though there were several breakfast options I ordered an omelette with ham, cheddar cheese, mushrooms and green pepper. My sides were pancakes and cheesy grits.FOOD QUALITYEverything in the mean was done well. The eggs were fluffy, the veggies were fresh and but not undercooked, and the pancake were of good size and taste. I'm not a grits eater but the cheesy grits were delicious and something I would definitely order again. My meal was accompanied by a fresh glass of orange juice.SERVICEMy server greeted me was attentive as she took my order. She checked in me a few minutes after I began eating to see if I was satisfied.OVERALLI would definitely recommend Yolk to anyone for breakfast. Not so busy that there's a wait. Upbeat 80's-90's music in the background that wasn't disturbing for someone who might prefer a quiet experience.NOTE: Yelp offered a 10% discount coupon (dine in) for "Checking in" but when I showed it to the server she was unaware of the offer and the owner stated they had no mean to process it (ie code or coupon number) so be sure to mention this if you get the same offer.

Yolk is a great chain! The food is always so good! 1st time at the Oak Park River Forest location. I got the Rickey Omelet and my partner got the Corned Beef and Eggs. Our server was super sweet. The lady who brought out our food spilled the whole tray of our food; the 1st time brought out our food. My partner got syrup all over her shirt because of the error. She definitely should have brought the table/holder tray stand for bringing out the food. I do understand mistakes happen.

Coffee is amazing! Service is ok. Food is great. They give you a ton of food. Everyone leaves w a to-go box. Pancakes were delicious. French toast was amazing. Can't wait to come back and get kid menu for our boy that way we can further enjoy our adult meal. You can get added to waitlist before you get there which is good to know. Parking stinks tho. You can park a block or two away and walk too.

First stop when I got to Chicago to one of my daughters favorite restaurants. We were seated immediately in a cute booth. Environment was nice and very clean.On to the food, there were so many great options. I ordered the corned beef hash, I must say it was only ok, the corned beef lacked seasoning, but potato's and eggs were great. My cousin had the build your own skillet with chorizo, spinach, and cheddar cheese it was amazing. My daughters had the Yolk All Star, which is 2 eggs, bacon and French toast of your choice. They got red velvet & cinnamon roll French toast and they both loved it. I definitely recommend this restaurant and I'll definitely go back.

Fast & friendly service, nice open area that did not feel loud or crowded. Food was hot, fresh and delicious. My husband loved his coffee. I could eat a full plate of the banana nut waffles daily. Never a complaint with Yolk and when we left our to go bag behind the busser ran after us and brought it to our car! This location went above and beyond and we cannot wait to return.

This restaurant has been in the neighborhood for quite some time and is a spot that is definitely frequent it, and draws a large crowd, mainly due to the fact that there are no other good breakfast spots in the immediate area. When ice stopped in, it was on a Saturday, so it was pretty busy. Despite that, seating happened after only a 10 minute wait. The waitress was nice, and as fast as she could be managing all of her tables. The food, to me, was average. It was filling, and the French toast that I had was good, but it honestly was nothing special or that I would make a point to frequent. I feel like they are a good place for standard breakfast items and that's about it.

If you like Yolk but want to avoid the super long wait in one of the downtown locations, this one is a great alternative. We don't have Yolk in St. Louis, so when we visit, I try to be sure to stop in. This was my first time at the Oak Park location and I loved being able to sit on the patio. My mother in law and aunt had never been to Chicago so I wanted them to try Yolk. They said it was excellent.
