I have been meaning to post a review about this place, but I am so busy. I'm now leaving a review, because of close friends who have stopped going to Yi Fang and we've compared notes and here it is: Listen Folks! EVERYONE HAS TO LEAVE A TIP, whether you like it or not. Even if the the person serving you has a problem with whatever it is and decides to not even look at you while serving you, YOU STILL MUST LEAVE A TIP. There are NO other options. Their screen purposely does not have the No Tip option! Watch out for this non-existent No Tip option. You won't see it, because they took it out. They're the only place that does not have it. If you tap on "custom", YOU STILL HAVE TO LEAVE $1 tip. The owners DO NOT CARE that's why they rigged it so you have to tip. Their workers must be overworked that's why they have an attitude. It's like they don't want to work there lol and it shows. This is the ONLY establishment that is like this. Not the wonderful Boba Up! Or the boba milk tea place next to Trader Joe's on Roosevelt (you also get free garage parking.) Aside from the grouchy servers and the REQUIRED TIPPING, we did NOT find the boba drinks impressive. Boba Up! gives more, the servings are bigger, the service is fabulous and quick, and YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO TIP and because of that you will want to give a very good tip each and every time!If I could leave ZERO stars I would. Yi Fang has been like this forever. Never coming back and I have been telling others to head on over to Boba Up or the one next to Trader Joe's (forgot the name), The Cat (forgot the exact name lol) near Mei Mei Chinese cafe, and Don't Yell at Me (fantastic - they won't be needing my help for another good review a solid 4.5/5.) No other place REQUIRES a customer to tip, except Yi Fang, where tipping is MANDATORY. What a shame. Their offerings are not even exceptionally good. Good job, owners! The required tipping is what makes you very unique. What a way to run a business. This is the only business that has this practice. Shame. The Bahn Mi place, Sizzle, that makes custom ordered sandwiches is not even like this. You lost our business forever lol And Please. We're not stupid. You purposely took out the No Tip option ok? So now it's our fault that we have to go through the "custom" option. Even at that screen it will say $1.00. You guys have no shame I tell you. There's nothing exceptional or so unique about your Bobas for us to return either. Cheats. How much do you charge for your products?? I'm so thankful that you are not the only Boba tea place around!"The IRS explains the main elements that distinguish tips from service charges by explaining what it takes in order to qualify as a tip: The customer can't be required to pay it. The customer gets to determine the amount. It's not the result of negotiations or decided by policy."(Dec 19, 2023)

At this YiFang location you have the ability to order with a cashier or submit your own order. I came in with a big-ish group, so we just each individually ordered through the self-checkout monitor they had to avoid holding up a line since it gave us more time to look over the menu. The little YiFang drink shaped egg waffles are so cute!

Solid place for getting fruit teas in Seattle. Menu is straight-forward and has a good selection of tea drinks to chose from. I also like how clean it is on the inside. Not usually my go-to place for boba, but I do get cravings to go here once and a while.

YiFang Taiwan Fruit Tea is conveniently located next to Morsel while waiting for my order I decided to skip another cup of coffee and try a fruit tea.The ordering and customizing process is extremely easy as there is an electronic menu available to place and pay for your order. Customer service was ideal and my two teas were prepared within minutes. My 2 year old loves the YiFang fruit tea because it's filled with sliced apples. I greatly appreciate the ability to reduce or omit the sugar altogether my Grapefruit lemon tea was perfect. If you're in the area and enjoy refreshing tea filled with fresh fruit I highly recommend YiFang Taiwan Fruit Tea!!

The Fruit Tea here was very refreshing! I had the YiFang Fruit Tea - at first the little black seeds confused me, but they were kind of fun to crunch on. The fruit slices were fresh enough to want to eat after I finished drink the tea.Unfortunately, my friend was not a fan of the Taro Milk tea, so we'll stick to fruit teas moving forward (especially since it's in the shop name). Also, the paper straws are great for the environment, but were difficult to puncture the lids and disintegrated while trying to get to the add ons at the bottom.

Got a hot fruit tea with actual fruit AND boba! Really yummy. The person who took my order was patient & helped me figure out / customize my drink. The kiosk didn't have the hot drink I wanted. Also got the mini egg pancakes in the shape of bubble tea drinks. Super cute! The pancakes take longer to come out than drinks. It was also surprisingly muggy / humid in the cafe... We sat inside for a while but it was nice to get outside for some fresh air. Overall, great quality & customer service!

Not sure if it's just me or if yifang is known for making their drinks on the less sweet side, but both the drinks that my friend and I got at 100% sweetness weren't sweet. I got the taro sago drink and she got the brown sugar boba. Ordering was simple. You do it yourself on the large screen next to the register or at the register, there's also a screen to place your order on. No need for human interaction lol great for introverts.

YiFang is located a little further north up "the Ave" near Morsel. I was surprised to put in an order on a huge screen, which had a lot of photos of the drinks so that was helpful. I wasn't able to figure out how to adjust the sweetness using the ordering kiosk, but I guess I should have asked! I ended up just getting full sweetness and wow, yes, it was sweet. I had the Brown Sugar Pear Oolong Tea Latte. The boba was very brown sugary tasting! I liked it actually. I think I'd like this drink more if I had toned down the sugar to 50% or less. Overall, pretty good! I'll certainly be back to try a fruit tea, which is what they're well known for.

Definitely not the best bubble tea I've ever had but it was not the worst. There are very few non-dairy options (3 to be exact per the cashier) and couldn't bring myself to guzzle down a ginormous drink with soy substitute (yuck). I got a hot oolong milk tea which were one of the three options that are made with non dairy creamer with pearls but was sorely disappointed when taking a first sip and realizing they used mini-pearls rather than the normal sized boba. Maybe next time I wull take a lactaid and venture for a whole milk one. I was most intrigued by the taro milk tea where the use real taro!Liked that you could customize the sugar levels but disappointed in the lack of non-whole milk choices. Wondering if anyone has tips on how to pierce the plastic with the compostable straws (when you leave your metal reusable one at home)?
