Yesenia's Mexican Food and Seafood

Very impressed with the food, service, and overall vibe of this restaurant. The chile rellenos were delicious with an amazing ranchero sauce. The salsa bar had lots of fresh options. I always look for a high health score to ensure a cleanly establishment and Yesenia's did not disappoint! Amazingly they even had delicious milkshakes at a Mexican restaurant lol. This is a new go to place for us!

The shrimp cocktail was tasty, just had to add some lime, ketchup, and onion/cilantro to give it that extra taste I like. My mom loved it as is. The chips were also very good, they had a light seasoning to them which paired well with the shrimp cocktail and the salsa from the salsa bar. Horchata was delicious and the perfect amount of sweet. The service was great, the lady at the front was very nice and attentive. The restaurant itself is clean and there is plenty of seating. I will definitely be back, now I want to try the grande burrito and the carne asada after seeing some other reviews!

In a city and state filled with Mexican restaurants on every corner, Yesenia's stands out with its amazing portions, size, and flavor. I ordered a carnitas torta and my girlfriend ordered chile rellenos, and our stomachs could barely fit through the door on the way out. No regrets here that was the best food I've had in YEARS. The lady workings was very kind and attentive. Overall, a pleasant experience and I would not miss this place for the world. Type of place you make a drive for.

Birria tacos 3 for $10 are well worth the money. Great service and great milkshakes definitely will be back

I would have to say this is my go to in El Cajon. Good clean place, great prices and the food is great. The service is always on point! The best part is the salsa bar and the free hot carrots you can't go wrong it's not a rip and crappy food it's great food for a decent price.

Good food. Fast service. Had the chileaqulles rojo w/ 2 eggs over easy and carne asada. It was very good. Comes with beans and potatoes on the side. Wife has 5 rolled tacos piled with lettuce, aqucate, and crema. Salsas are very good. Service was friendly and they offer 5% military discount.

Yesenia's has now opened their fourth location here in El Cajon. They make very good food at their other locations and they did not disappoint with this location. I had the two chicken taco combo for $9.99 plus tax which included a soft drink and rice and beans.It was a good meal. Both the rice and re-fried beans were tasty. I was fond of the rice because it had good flavor and offered a nice loose consistency.The tacos were of the fried variety and came with a good amount of chicken. I thought the chicken could of used a little more salt, and that it was over shredded into something similar of a tinga. I would of liked to have larger shredded pieces for texture. The tacos came with good crispy shells, shredded lettuce, and a lot of good shredded colby cheddar cheese. The tacos were good, but could be a little better with a few tweaks. They have a great salsa bar with a lot of good options, including home made pickled onions and hot carrots. Service was friendly and there's plenty of parking available.
