Yesenia's Mexican and Seafood

I took a load to the landfill with my youngest son. While we were there my son said, "you know what? I didn't even eat today. " So I asked him what he felt like eating and he replied, "Mexican!" I knew exactly what he was craving- Yesenia's!We went to the Kearny Mesa location and my son ordered a carne asada fries plate. We went next door to go look around at the sporting goods store. When we came back his food was ready and we took it to go.The shop is neat, tidy, and cute. One girl was cooking while the other handled the register. Great job! My son didn't talk at all for the next 15 mins, just grunts of happiness and joy. Thanks again! Sorry, I forgot to take pictures..

Came here because I needed to go to Daiso, but realized I skipped breakfast and lunch. Upon entering, we were greeted by the cashier and placed our order. The menu is extensive, as well as the salsa bar which are pluses. I wanted to get something with seafood since that's what they seemed to be advertising towards, but I glitched and ended up ordering the default carne asada fries for myself and a carne asada burrito for my mom. I like that they have some condiments at the tables already, but I still tried their red hot sauce at the bar, which was good. Carne asada fries: the fries themselves looked really good to me, like they would be the perfect fries with the right amount of crunch and potato -- for whatever reason there wasn't much of a crunch, which was weird because the appearance definitely deceived me lol. I also think that the dish itself was missing some kind of flavor. The carne asada was flavored well, but aside from that the rest was kind of lacking somehow. The burrito on the other hand was pretty good though.

Sit down wise it's a good option. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Right next door to Daiso so parking can be iffy. I had a carne asada plate. Food was good. Service friendly.

We were shopping in the plaza at Daiso and decided to stop in. I had ordered carnesada tacos and a bottled water. The menu had variety of entrees and the prices were decent. The employees were eating dinner when I went inside. They stopped eating and got up really quick to help me at the counter. The restaurant is really clean. They have a bathroom inside for customers only. I really like the hot sauce bar. It have different homemade hot sauces to choose from and on the side they have jalapeños and onions in a crock pot. It smelled so good.

Food was fabulous. The service was fast and the ambience was very pleasant. Great place to eat food was magnificent.

Pretty whatevers. I got the chile relleno burrito with carne asada and it was like 16 dollars...it was so soggy. The meat was not good. Where was the chile relleno? There was so much liquid that came out of it. I don't know. It was more like a caesar salad wrap from mcdonalds.

They've added some new menu options (and people working) since the last time I ate here- so I decided to try one. I somehow expected what they call Popeyes Burrito to have more spinach and less potatoes (but it was still OK). The ceiling fans (both inside and outside) and lack of music blaring make this a cool place to come relax and enjoy a meal on a warm day.

Amazing food and great location always fresh and staff is very kind. The food can be made mild or hot. Nice salsa bar and chips offered. Plenty on parking next to Daiso store.

It is unfortunate that I write this review. Yesenia's food is really good. Great tortas and chile rellenos and the salsa bar is yummy. We have come here at least 6-7 times but only gotten food 3 times. The other times they were closed even though their hours posted said they were open. It's frustrating when you can't count on posted business hours. I will likely not come back.

Im from ONTA. & every time I'm out here working on a project. I have to stop here.Good people and bomb ass grub. I been coming here since 2010.Clean & good quality. I'll keep coming back every time I'm out here.
