Nice, quaint little spot. Reasonable prices, satisfying portion sizes.Quiet spot for lunch. Might like to return with a small group, they've got one long bench table and multiple smaller tables.Fried spring rolls are tasty and good sized. Tonkatsu ramen was very nice. Good yakisoba.Post dinner crackers are savory! I like the green dusted one best.Fast, friendly service. ANNOYING BELL AT THE DOOR. Probably my only criticism.I'd return for sure.

I'm a huge fan of Pad Thai and cook it at home a lot. I saw the menu and noticed "crispy pad thai" so I had to check it out. I ordered two crispy chicken pad thais and the idea is interesting. I like the crispiness of the thick flat rice noodles but once they are submerged in the sauce it loses that texture. The sauce was very watery. As far as customer service; it was ok. I ordered over the phone and she wasn't the friendliest or most welcoming. When you go inside to pick up your food; you can't walk all the way up to the counter because they stop you in the front right next to the entry door and a row of chairs placed by the wall. Lol it's not one of those restaurants that make you feel welcomed or comfortable. I've ordered from here twice and most likely won't come back mainly because I didn't get a good vibe.

This is the "Olive Garden" of street food. It's horrible quality and blah taste it's so not worth the money I threw it away. Very bad quality in sushi fish couldn't eat was too scared and the ramen, better out of a package taste is almost the same. Awful. Spend your money anywhere else practically.

Best place to get sushi in Edgewater. It's a pretty unassuming place that doesn't look like much. YATAI is actually a hidden gem though. Has a big menu of rolls and other Asian favorites. The prices aren't bad for how much you get and there's a variety of basic and more upscale. After looking for a few sushi places, we came here. It's a pretty low key classy type of place. This looks pretty not fancy from the outside, but it's better than it looks, and that goes for the food as well. It's about $5 for the cheapest rolls. We got the Shiitake Roll, which of course had mushrooms, and this one was good for being simple. It's about $7 for the more expensive rolls. We got the Vegan Mexican Roll, which was more complicated yet so much better though. It was a kind of Asian and Mexican fusion. This was made with avocados, cilantro, cucumbers, jalapeños, and lime, with a spicy sauce. It was spicy for sure, lots of flavor. This was well executed fusion of different cuisines that have more similarities than you may think. For sure could come here again. It has lots of rolls to choose from. There's lots of choices for vegans and vegetarians.

Late night on Broadway, we happened upon YATAI and hurried in for some eats. A broad menu, we stuck to some standard fare with a bit of a kick. kimchi fried rice, and crab fried rice - well cooked and seasoned, exactly what we wanted. A chicken rice bowl with tasty slices of chicken atop sauteed veggies and rice, a sweet potato roll with a perfect mix of sweetness and starch. Definitely worth a stop, especially for a late snack on a cold Chicago night!

Since moving to the area (nearly two years now), we've probably ordered from Yatai at least 1-2 times a month on average. Great food and overall consistent! Our go-tos are the chicken pad Thai (crispy style tastes great too!) and the teriyaki rice bowl with chicken and mixed vegetables. I had to dock the rating by one star unfortunately as we did have one incident where the fresh veggies (either as a salad or part of the rice bowl) were...not fresh. It actually withheld us from coming back for a few weeks. We recently gave them a try again though and everything was great. Im chalking it up to just a bad day for them. We love the food and will continue to support them!

I'm a picky eater and it was pretty good and so was the service. It's quiet in there, they didn't play any music which is totally fine. Food was eeh, crispy noodle didn't taste very noodley but it was still okay. Scallop sushi was pretty good. Chewy
