This place is a definite must-stop for any sushi afficionado! It's a very welcoming place, and the staff is very friendly. The inside is casual yet upscale in a sense. There is ample parking outside as it is located in a shopping center.We weren't feeling AYCE this time around, but once we were seated, we just went for broke, lol! The prices are very fair for what you get. The portions, presentation, and rice-to-fish ratios are outstanding! The fish is very fresh, and we were completely wowed when the Sushi Chef brought us some freshly made wasabi!! I told him I was born in Japan, and he got a kick out of it, hehe. I don't normally eat wasabi with my sushi, but I had to try this fresh version. Fresh is always best, and this was IT! The fish flavors were enhanced by the subtle addition of the wasabi. I was pleasantly surprised and very happy! Everything we ordered was so damn good that we got seconds of some dishes. I would definitely recommend coming here if you're in the Scottsdale area. We were impressed with not only the quality of sushi here but also the cleanliness and service. We can't wait to go back!

Amazing bang for your buck! I came here during early lunch on the weekend. They offer a lunch special menu. I opted for their 5 pc nigiri & California roll for only $12! The California rolls were generously packed, too! The fish to rice ratio was very generous on the nigiri, and they all tasted delicious. Yes, you heard that right. You can get a healthy delicious sushi variety for less than the price of your Chipotle bowl.Service was fine. Food was brought out in a reasonable time and the table was cleared. Ambiance is somewhat dim, but modern and clean. Parking close to the restaurant can be a nightmare on the weekends.

Best lunch special ever!!! We were in Scottsdale for an appointment and it was lunch time. We realized we hadn't had sushi in awhile. So what do I do? I of course go to Yelp to find the best closest restaurant. The menu and the reviews looked good and I was more than happy with the choice.Their lunch menu is amazing!! I honestly don't know how they can sustain their business on these ridiculously low prices! We both decided on the same item- 5 pieces of nigiri: tuna, salmon, yellowtail, white tuna, amberjack, and 8 pieces spicy tuna roll, and miso soup for $12. I could not believe the crazy cheap price!! The food arrived and omgosh everything was so fresh and delicious!! I loved that they don't stuff their nigiri and rolls with a ton of rice as I hate filling up on rice. The rice usage is pretty minimal so you can actually taste the fresh sushi. They even gave us a free cucumber salad! Hubby kept saying nom nom throughout his meal and wanted more so we ordered another special for him:) The staff here is all very nice too! The ambience is very peaceful and easy to hold a conversation. This place is such a hidden gem and we will definitely be coming back here!!

Came here for happy hour with a friend at 5pm and the place was fairly empty. So, we got a table right away, and the service was great. I ended up ordering a glass of sake, which wasn't on the happy hour menu for drinks. But the crispy tuna rice and rainbow roll were on happy hour, along with a bunch of other options, and both were exactly what I wanted. The crispy tuna rice was crunchy and flavorful, and the fish on top of the roll was incredibly fresh. Would definitely come here again!

Best sushi I have ever had in my life. The chefs and staff were very friendly and such a quaint spot. All the rolls we got were delicious and fresh. Would 100% go back and pricing was pretty affordable. Not a hint of fishy smell so fish turnover is pretty quick on product. Cocktails wonderful as well.

Not at bad spot to grab sushi at. This restaurant is located in the Mercado del Lago plaza right next to Marguerite Lake, which makes for a nice stroll before or after your meal. Plenty of parking is available in the plaza parking lot, and there is a bit of a wait on a typical Friday or weekend night (ours was around 20 minutes for 3 people, and you can use the Yelp waitlist to check in). Ambiance is super nice and service is great, so it's definitely a nice spot for a date night. Moreover, they have happy hour starting from 2 pm onwards with deals on the alcohol + rolls/appetizers!I noticed most of the rolls tended to lean heavy on the crab mix, spicy fish mix, and/or cream cheese/fried tempura, which is a shame since I feel like most of it is kind of filler material. We ended up choosing the spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon roll, and second climax roll. The rolls were good, but everything tended to be on the pricier side with thin cuts of fish. This probably isn't my preferred spot for sushi, but it's a nice place for dates/special occasions!

Came here on a Tuesday with a friend and started with the crab Rangoons and sweet and spicy chicken. The Rangoons were pretty basic but I loved the sweet and sour chicken! Definitely a good snack but could be good as a meal with rice and veggies. We split the baked scallop roll, first love roll, and spicy tuna roll. I think the first love had the most going on flavor wise, but all of them were great. I really enjoyed the food here. The restaurant was short staffed when we went and the servers were clearly busy so it took about 45 minutes to get our check. I hope they're able to get more wait staff or have a checkout at the front in the future. This could've been a one time thing so I'll definitely be back.

I don't hang out in Scottsdale often (due to my wallet) but when I do, I already have my favorite go-to sushi spot. But my girlfriend and I decided to try a new place this time. What caught our eye was Yasuo's great happy hour. Not only is the happy hour quite extended (2:00pm-9:00pm mon-thurs) but their lunch prices are unbelievable. We visited during their dinner happy hour:Crispy Spicy TunaBasically the viral cooking trend during covid haha flavors were great, but rice to tuna ratio was off. There was too much rice for my preference.Spicy Tuna CrunchSpicy tuna roll with tempura bits. Straightforward and tasty, what more can you ask for!? Ended up ordering anotherSpicy Salmon Roll Also good, but I found it not to be as flavorful as the spicy tuna. Second Climax Roll There are other climax rolls but I guess I skipped right to the second climax haha really tasty! I also liked that they didn't over sauce the roll. Yellowtail and salmon nigiriFish was very fresh and very generous. A great deal considering the happy hour prices! The salmon was particularly tasty (I usually favor yellowtail) and we got a 2nd order Overall the sushi was really solid, the decor was nice, and the staff very friendly and attentive. I don't think any of the food is going to blow you away (or climax you multiple times as their rolls imply) but they will certainly not disappoint either. I am eager to visit again to take advantage of their lunch specials.

I thought the sushi was fresh but a little uninspired. Having been to Sushiholic and knew that this restaurant was run by the same people, I expected it to have a similar vibe. It was smaller and very quiet, not many tables filled on a Saturday night (even though it is July). If I'm in the neighborhood I wouldn't hesitate to stop for lunch but I probably won't drive 30 minutes for dinner there again. I got the Tootsie roll and a Spicy California. Taste was as expected - didn't blow me away but couldn't complain either.
