We had a great dinner here on Sunday night before a show at the Van Buren. This is a small but lively place with great modern sushi but also authentic/classic Japanese dishes. Everything was beautifully plated and delicious from the nigiri chef's choice to the agedashi tofu and so on. The waiter was attentive but not bothersome. Everything was just right.

Came here for lunch with the family and I must say the sushi was better than I was expecting. We ordered the Sushi boat which was enough for sushi for two with a great variety of rolls and sashimi. We also got a teriyaki chicken bento box which was much bigger than we were expecting. Food came out quick and service was great.

This was such an amazing sushi place!I was picked up by a coworker and he recommended this place, highly. We walked in and it was such a nice modern restaurant with a very welcoming staff. We sat down and started to look over the large and amazing menu. They have a great deal for $31 which includes a Asahi Beer Tower and two appetizers! This is a huge deal and I was impressed with the price. We ordered that along with fried calamari and spicy tuna tartar. Both were amazing. We then ordered some Yakitori, some great rolls, sashimi, and really good drinks! The waitress was awesome and the food was top notch. I'll be adding this place to my list for when I come back here!

Ramen sounded delicious due to the cold, rainy weather and figured we would try a new place. Yama Sushi was good. The Tonkotsu Ramen was good but wish it had a little bit of spice. I probably could have asked for some hot sauce or something but overall it was tasty. We also ordered a few rolls, including the Godzilla Roll and the Las Vegas Roll, both of which were delicious. Edamame was served nice and warm and perfectly salted. The restaurant serves Pepsi products so we had water to drink. The restaurant is small but clean and cute inside. Servers and overall service was quick and the price didn't break the bank. Overall we were satisfied and will likely return at some point in the future.

We thought the food was delicious and fish tasted good but I will say the Tuna was grade B/C. Freshest/better quality grade would be A on the scale as it was not very enhanced in color or flavorful. Price was a bit higher than average for the rolls $20 seemed a bit much for a roll that wasn't this crazy thing that would have been $15-$16 at another restaurant that's just as good if not better quality even. Service was quick to take our order and bring out the food. No one came to our table while we ate to ask if we wanted to order more or needed anything. And we quickly received our check and 2go boxes. We sat on the outdoor patio which was nice on a perfect day and was spacious. Check for 2 was $100 making nearly each roll $20.

I just stopped into this place for happy hour. Everything was really good and very well priced. I can see why this place was very busy. The ambiance here is what you'd imagine at a sushi place. Nothing too over the top. For food my party decided to get the gyoza and spicy edamame. Both were delicious and worth the price. Finally for the rolls, we decided to go with the Vegas Roll, the Philadelphia Roll, and the Hot Night roll. All of them were good but my favorites were the Vegas roll and Hot Night. I'd probably skip the Philadelphia roll next time if I'm being honest. Our service here was also great here. The only reason I didn't give this place five stars was nothing really blew my mind. Everything was good , affordable, and what you'd expect but I didn't leave feeling like I had to come back for any particular item. Also, the cocktail menu is lacking. Will definitely add this to my rotation for good affordable sushi though.

Not bad/pretty good food for me. My ordered rolls were too sweet with the unagi sauce but would come back to try some of their other rolls. Our server Evan was kind and attentive. Yellowtail scallion roll+ good yellowtail portion and taste - hard to taste the scallionChef's special lunch + nice cuts/portions on the sushis + sushis were fresh and tasty+ spicy tuna roll flavored well, not too spicy but noticeable and without fiber Dragon ash roll+ tasty arrangement- more sear on the salmon would be appreciated - actual size is about 50% of the picture Spider roll+ tasty imitation crab and crispy real crab- unagi sauce made the roll too sweet for me

This is the place for an incredible happy hour (2-6pm every day)! I have been here a few times and have loved the food, service, and ambiance every time. Their spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and spicy crab are so great, especially when they are $4/roll during HH. Some of their specialty rolls are $7/roll during HH. You can't beat the quality and price during this time. I highly recommend their happy hour for a late lunch or early dinner! I'll definitely be back!

Really wanted to come in for happy hour but when I called and asked what the happy hour deal was the employee on the phone just said said "2-6" and when I asked what was part of the deal she said "Food and drinks" no more explanation, zero friendliness, spoke to me like I was an idiot.
