Overall, textures were good, flavors just msg and vinegar. It's relatively cheap/quick, but still, could be better. The food court is actually pretty clean, so they must've stepped up the cleaning since the last reviews about it. I feel like they could've been more generous with napkins though, given how oily their food is. Biangbiang noodles had nice chewy noodles, but the oil was not very flavorful, and there's just SO much oil. Some cheap filler veg + extremely minimal meat. The potato rougamo was literally only vinegar and msg flavor, but the textures were very nice -- the bun was very crisp and the potatoes were just cooked.

We stopped by Xi'an Rougamo for lunch since we were hungry. It's located inside a food court in the basement of a building. It's honestly an interesting situation as the other restaurants in the food court are essentially mall food court staples, but then you have a random hand-pulled noodle spot. I had the egg and tomato hand-pulled noodles and it was just OK. The noodles felt a little too al dente and the tomato egg sauce was too vinegary/sour for my tastes. X and our friend enjoyed their noodles, so perhaps I just ordered the wrong item? Food came out very hot and within about 10 minutes of ordering. Plenty of food court seating available.

So so good! I know they are known on social media for their biang biang noodles, and I had every intention of ordering those, but I saw they had liangpi on their menu and had to change my plan! Liangpi (or "cold skin") is a dish consisting of cold starchy flat noodles with little chewy gluten cubes (basically a Chinese version of seitan, a tofu-like substance) with julienned cucumber and a mouth numbing vinegar chili sauce. It sounds a bit weird. But I highly recommend it! Absolutely delicious!

Location wise, it is on the outskirts of ChinaTown and Downtown Crossing, so it's nice not needing to walk into further into Chinatown and have to doge traffic. There is not a lot of seats in the restaurant as it's more for carry out, so you are better off ordering and bringing it back to your desk. Additionally, the tables and seats are very greasy from what seems to be years of build up. I ended up putting my hand on a table and it got stuck there. Not a very good feeling.I ordered the lamb skewers and hand pulled noodle soup and I was very much let down on all of it. The soup broth was very oily and all I could taste was spicy oil and no flavor. The noodles was over cooked and very mushy. The lamb skewers were not well seasoned. I really wanted to like this place. The staff are amazing and super friendly. Additionally, the touch screen ordering system set up at the front of the store is very easy to use and has many pictures of the dishes that have to offer. For these 2 reasons I give this place 2 stars.

Average noodles. They are not the best/ tasty noodles in town but they can satisfy your hunger. Staffs are kind so I don't have any problem with them :)

I stopped by just to try one of the lamb rougamos after seeing a TikTok praising this place. It was easy to order on one of the computer screens, and my food came out in no time. I was super impressed when I opened my rougamo. The bread was so flaky that it was coming apart in pieces in my hand, and it was deliciously crisp. The lamb filling inside was beautifully spiced, well-seasoned, and tender. It was a good balance of lean to fatty, and there were veggies in the mix as well. I wouldn't say there was a large amount of filling, but there was just enough to make it balanced. I savored every bite and wanted to order another after I was done. This is seriously one of the best things I've eaten in Boston in a while, and for the price, this is a really good deal in downtown Boston. I'm so excited to try the rest of their menu now!

My favorite spicy wontons in the entire city!!! Not too sweet from the vinegar, good good spice, and such amazingly delicious thin wrappers! Their Dan Dan noodles are also very very good!

Ignore the fact that it's in a food court that seems one wrong turn away from warping you into the Backrooms, and be prepared to wait to be acknowledged if you're not using the menu screens on the far side of the booth. (They're chronically understaffed so have patience.)With that: this is not only one of the best places downtown for lunch on a budget, it's some of the best Chinese food I've had in the city period. The cold noodles with sesame sauce and a spiced egg are absolutely heavenly on a summer day when you need something filling but not heavy. If I were bringing an out of town guest to walk the Freedom Trail, I'd absolutely bring them here to fuel up beforehand.

Got this as Uber eats take out and it was not bad! We ordered the biang biang noodles which was so tasty! It was quite oily, but I do think that is the style with this cuisine. I liked the hand thick cut noodles. We also ordered the pork belly rougamo and lamb rougamo. I'm not sure if they serve it hot, but we heated it up in the air fryer and it was SO good! We also ordered a taro green milk tea with jelly which I thought was okay, a bit too sweet for my preference.
