Nice local place it has been consistently good. I really like the brisket. I prefer sweeter corn bread their version is fine it's typical and the only thing there that I have not been impressed with but that's my personal taste which I understand is not normal when it comes to cornbread. I highly recommend this place I don't think you can go wrong here.

Word of warning... Pre-ordering & paying for food a day in advance still will not guarantee you will get what you paid for. When placing an order Mon afternoon for Tues 5:30pm pick up, it was never mentioned that the food we paid for may not even be there when we arrived for our scheduled pick-up (pulled pork & tri-tip run out 1st). So even though we had paid for our order, it is not their policy to hold it for you & unfortunately nobody thought to warn us of this fact when we requested a pick up time of 5:30 PM.We were told next time perhaps we should pick it up in the morning & simply "keep it warm" (in the AZ heat?!?) all day. It saddens me to say this, they have lovely owners, friendly staff & beyond incredible food... But this type of customer service is not acceptable.

We ate here yesterday for the first time. We tried the brisket, pork belly and rib tips. For sides we had coleslaw and the cornbread muffin. The brisket was tender but not very flavorful. The pork belly was sauced with their sweet sauce and was very tasty. The rib tips were tender and had good flavor. The sauces we tried were very good, especially the Alabama White. The cornbread muffin was small and unremarkable and the coleslaw was crisp but underdressed so a little dry. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming and everything was very clean. The service was great. I would definitely recommend stopping in and giving their BBQ a try.

This was our first time visiting Word of Mouth and we ordered our dinner to go. This meal was definitely a splurge as the prices were a bit higher than we normally pay but the reviews were good. Very disappointed to come home and find that we only got one hot link of our two hotlink order. The order was supposed to be 1/2 lb but when weighed it was only 3 oz. So we basically paid $12.99 for 7 bites of sausage. I also ordered the brisket bowl, which was good. The mac & cheese was a little dry but we loved the beans!

Seriously, now I need a Yelp! option to give a 7 star review. Not kidding. How has this place been here for 6 years, owned by neighbors and I didn't know about it? This trip was life changing, no joke, here's why.The owners, Jacque and Demetrious ("D") are about the nicest, most warm, welcoming people you could meet. Their genuine passion for their restaurant shows in the extraordinary cleanliness of the entire place, the comfortable, chill, modern, light, homey atmosphere they created, the absolutely shocking, mind bending, high quality, taste, flavor, and love in every bite of their amazing food. For. Real. Read on!We tried some of everything on the menu, seriously, this review covers it all! Smoked chicken was moist, white meat, steaming, soft, flavorful, smoked perfectly and was awesome. Now, dip it in the Alabama White sauce, and it's over the top! Alabama White sauce you say? Ya, never heard of it either. It's insanely good, incredible. That's just one of the 8 home made sauces they offer! Ya, 8! Now I've been to dozens, maybe hundreds of bbq restaurants. Nearly all have a good sauce, or two, maybe even three, but that's rare. They are usually a spicier version of the first or an attempt at a different regional style. I swear, every single sauce here is fantastic, homemade, delicious, totally unique from the rest (how is that possible??) and amazing on virtually everything. A palette of sauce flavors I've never experienced. Could not be more sauce-impressed.Okay, more food. The pork belly and rib tips are insane! They glisten in the meaty, sweet, light sauce but the smoky flavor of the meet and fat steal the show in the best way. They are the best I've ever had anywhere. The brisket, oh man, the brisket! Bark? Who needs it when this brisket is sooo moist, tender, soft, smoky, absolutely perfect! Smoked in mesquite to absolute perfection and hand carved for each order. It's H.E.A.V.E.N! The pulled pork is ridiculously great! I've never had it like this. And I make it, in my own smoker, for 40, 50, 70 people at a time. The pulled pork here is better! It has light Caribbean jerk seasoning and with the smokiness of the meat and it being the juiciest I've ever had, it's the absolute best. I feel like I've been reborn and tasting all this bbq for the first time, it's ALL soo good!Sides. The Mac N Cheese, each twist is chewy, cheesy, gooey and insanely delicious, I liked the bowl! The beans, oh man, the beans! Check out all the pics I posted. See the glossy, bourbon color on those beans! They are gently smokey, meaty, fantastic. The sweet potato fries, mmmmm, lightly crispy, warm, soft on the inside, fried to perfection and delicious in every sauce, or by themself!! Ok, wing time. I'm ruined. I've had the same favorite wings for 15 years. All that changed today. Got the Arizona Spicy wings and the Tiger Stripe wings. Insane! Nuts! Both of them! Know why? Because the wings themselves are cooked 3 different ways before being sauced! Smoked, fried, finished on the grill! What??? Big, meaty, juicy, flavorful, crispy, saucy, oh man! Best. Wings. Ever! This is the best bbq in Arizona, seriously. I've had them all, I've done competition bbq, every dish here is mind blowing! I don't know how, but it's true. And no, I wasn't drinking! :-)How is it possible that every dish here, and no joke, we tried them all, are awesome?!?!?! How is it possible the owners are so friendly, kind, fun and cool? How is this place so comfortable with cool events like whiskey and cigar nights, Mexi-Que nights, jazz & R&B music nights,.... it's been here 6 years and I'm just hearing of it?I'm just glad I haven't spent another day not knowing of Word of Mouth Grill. My plan is to go often! I honestly can't recommend this place highly enough!

Solid BBQ spot! We were craving BBQ after a long pool day, so we decided to check out Word of Mouth Grill. The restaurant was exceptionally clean, and they have a few TVs mounted for you to enjoy sports. The owner's wife took our order & she was so kind. She let me taste a few samples of their home made BBQ sauce. The carolina bbq sauce was my favorite. It had the perfect amount of tangyness & paired well with my pulled chicken sandwich. The bbq baked beans with ground beef were great. Not sure if they used the spicy bbq sauce in them, but I was impressed with the flavor. I noticed they had a bar, so we ordered two old fashioned cocktails. The owner made our drinks & they were REALLY GOOD. He told us that he was a Boston native & has been in business for 6 years. Unexpectedly, we had a good experience at Word of Mouth!

We ordered the brisket (asked for fatty, not lean), 1/2 pound. It was very good. We also ordered the potato salad, green chile corn and the cornbread. The cornbread was a mix, not homemade. ( had to ask for butter - got one pat) Didn't find any green chiles in the corn which was flavorless and frozen ( even though it's corn season). The potato salad is house made and aside from having peas, it too was "meh". Our friends ordered the French fries - straight cut and nothing special. . . . and no ketchup. Non-alcoholic drink selection is weak. We were the only table on a Saturday night at 6 pm. There's not a lot to the place. Don't understand the cloth napkins, rolled silverware and table lamps (?). Order at the counter and your order is brought out by a person who seems to have very little to do ( only one table ) so she hovers. Very expensive for ho-hum food. Won't be back.

Nice clean place. The staff were very nice and helpful. The menu is kind of confusing from what I'm used to. You order at the counter but you order by the weight. So you can order meat by 1/3 lb, 1/2 in, or a lb. Then you order sides. There was a bowl with a meat and mashed potatoes but there isn't a "plate" like other BBQ places. The sauces are ordered with the choice of meat. We ordered pulled pork, brisket, and Tri-tips. For sides we order Mac and cheese, cornbread, and mashed potatoes. When the food came out it was a meat with toast but one came without toast, again confusing. Everything was very good but just seemed small portion for the cost. I'd also much rather have sauces on the table to choose from rather than small cups. The bottom line is all of the food was excellent but smaller portions. I wish they had a plate to choose from like choose a meat, a side and a cornbread. I guess it's more ala carte or make your own plate kind of thing. It's worth a try for sure because everything was very tasty and the employees were spot on.

Picked up takeout from this place on a Thursday night. The food was ready as soon as I got there, no wait! We got pulled pork, hot links, and a few sides. The 1/2 pound pulled pork sandwich ($12) was good with the Spicy BBQ sauce but the 1/3 pound pulled pork ($8) was a little bit soggy but still pretty tasty with the Honey BBQ sauce. The hot links ($5) were really good with the Carolina sauce! The baked beans ($4) were delicious, the potato salad ($4) was just okay, and the green Chile corn ($4) was okay! All in all I think we will need to try this place again but maybe eat there rather than taking to go. The restaurant is nice with a patio out front and music playing!

Meh, this place has okay BBQ but nothing spectacular. Like others have said, this place is overpriced. Rudy's is better and cheaper.
